I need a ownerdraw CListBox where I can change the item height during working with the list. The msdn says that I can specify the height in OnMeasureItem when the listbox will be created (ownerdrawfixed) or when an item will be inserted (ownerdrawvariable).
How to change the height e.g. when I click a button?
I made also some tests with CListCtrl. There I can change the height. But there is only one height for all items. How to set individual heights for the items?
Basically when I type in different widths and heights for the col and rows, the buttons that make up the width get cut off. Something is messed up but I'm not sure what!

As you see, this just mark the top-left corner of the rectangle r. In other functions I need the specifications of that rectangle, for example its height and width. How to use these specs in those functions?
How would I make it so that I can have someone input the length, width and height for all 3 boxes and then have it output the sum and average volume? Here's an example of what I would like:

I am working on a Windows application using Visual Studio 2012. One of the screens have a text entry field for the user. Instead of using a standard text field control, am placing a image which looks exactly like a text field. Now what i want to do is, capture the key stroke and update this image with the characters entered by user.
The initial image shown to the user is "Blank_Text_Entry.png" and this is added to the resource as IDB_BLANK_TEXT_ENTRY.
This is a rectangular white image with dimensions 153 x 27, with a size of 250 bytes.
My goal is to be able to update this image dynamically based on key strokes by user and display it.
I am new to programming . My task is to change the background of the app so that every time I open the app I get a different background image and every minute the background image changes. I am a complete noob and I am trying to do this for almost 36 hours now. I am getting really depressed right now. Every time I am trying to write a code, there's an error.
I've been working on making a sprite generator and this is one thing that has kept giving me difficulties. No matter what I've looked up nothing directly says how to nor can I find anything on a similar topic to try and apply to it either. I know how to add the resources and names for the options but how do I get the options to make my picturebox image change in relation to the selection?
In a MDI-app with some toolbars and statusbar I created also a controlbar which can be docked to the left side. My problem now: how do I get the exact height of the controlbar?
In CalcDynamicLayout I set the height for the docked state to the height of the mainframe. This value is too big, but it will work basically.
But how can I get the exact height of the controlbar?
I derived a class from CRecentFileList in order to set the number of displayed chars for MRU.
The problem is that if I open the app with 256 set for this number (it is read from .ini file) the display is correct. But after I change it to 10 for e.g., File menu width remains unchanged altghough MRU are correctly displayed on 10 (or at least file name lenghts) chars.
how can I tell to the menu to shrink to actual width?

The problem is that, it is not possible to define an Image in public/private part of the class rotation. Image needs all arguments to be supplied even when declaring one. (Image is here in Graph.h)
And if I define that Image in the body of main() function, so how to provide access for void rotate() to change its position with the position of button simultaneously.
btnStatusPlr1.Image SHOULD come back as True.Then I realized it might not be the same as setting the buttons image in the properties (Which is what i did to get the original image (the one being compared to))

My goal is to have couple of items in the listbox and when highlighting one item a image in the picturebox should appear, and so on for each item in the listbox.I just don't know how to change image depending on selected item in the listbox instantly.Also when i highlight item a text in label should be like in highlighted item in listbox.
1. Using a CScrollView as the View class type. 2. Using Document/View Architecture. 3. Insert multiple Common Controls such as CEdit, CButton, CListCtrl into the View dynamically. 4. All the Common Controls is base on a template created by user. So I do not know the quantity of the Common Controls.
This is the plan on how to do it:
1. In View OnInitialUpdate(), read the template to get all necessary info on the Common Controls to be create. 2. In View OnInitialUpdate(), create all Common Control. Some Common Control may not have WS_VISIBLE as it may not needed at initial stage. 3. In View OnUpdate(), I need to refresh the Common Control properties such as is its text, position or its visibility. This should happen if Document call UpdateAllView().
My Question: 1. Is this a normal & useable plan? 2. Do I miss other functions for any other messages? 3. Still wondering if I need to involve any coding in OnDraw() for this plan.
I created a MFC dialog using CDHtmlDialog and added a HTML page with many controls and one of them is a IMAGE tag. I got a default image loaded from the hard drive displayed in the HTML page. Up to this part, everything works fine.
Now what i want to do is, dynamically change the image based on the user click on one of the HTML buttons. I don't want this image source to be hard coded in the HTML nor the image source send from the MFC app.
What i want is for the MFC app to send the image data to the HTML in some (binary) format and then the page to display the image.
The possible option i was thinking of was to read the image file which is already in my hard drive as a binary file and send the binary data across to the HTML as a memory buffer, and then use JavaScript to decrypt this binary data and display the image.
Basically what i want is for the HTML page to display a image from the memory. how to do this?
I'm using CStatic inherited class in my code and creating static text boxes dynamically. Now for assigning unique control ID I'm creating a static control from resource editor and destroying it before calling CStatic::Create() and using its control ID say ID_STATIC_SAMPLE.
If I do not use this parameter of Create(), the static control is also being created, so what is the use of this unique ID. And any other better way to assign a ID for dynamically created static controls.
how to create, initialize, and maintain a memory device context that works as a local buffer for images? The idea is to maintain some large images in local DCs and bitmaps, and only bitblt them to screen in OnDraw().
What I did so far was was to define CDC and CBitmap objects as members of my View class, and then tried to initialize them with the sequence that begins at "// Initialize buffer". I placed that sequence in either OnInitialUpdate, or PreCreateWindow, or OnPrepareDC, or the view constructor, to no avail. The code always crashes in OnDraw, and I've noticed that the m_hDC member of myDevice is zero at that point.
Obviously, the initialization is wrong and MFC does (too many) things in the background which I'm not aware of.... My question was where can I read about that?
