Nov 12, 2013I needed to change Default Text attributes (font and color) . So I wrote following code , UnicodeTextOut function. I called this function once in each 55ms to update the display screen. but I observed that my Screen used to become grey like a crash after sometime . If I use Minimize an Maximize window , the screen was restoring back for some time.
When I thought over the code , I got my mistake that CreateFont initialization should be done once in the program and probably outside the function.

This solved my problem as expected. Why a system crash after certain no of CreateFont calls ?

Dec 19, 2012I recently switched from Visual C++ 6.0 to Visual C++ 2008.
With Visual C++ 6.0, I used a callback method to get available font styles for a given font. I don't think that is working correctly anymore.
What is the best approach for determining which font styles (e.g., bold, italic, etc.) are available for a given font. I am not using .Net.

I understand that I have to find the height by using _left->height() and _right->height() as long as it is not a null-pointer , each time I do this the values of _left and _right change. That way you can check if it is possible to go further down in the tree. I also have to use a counter to keep track of the number of layers at each side of the root. I don't understand how to implement it.

I tried using libpng.lib in my code.But I dono the keywords for loading the png image after including the lib.

When I remove the BeginPath() and EndPath() functions my lines are being drawn. But when I insert this BeginPath() and EndPath() and StrokeAndFillPath(hDC); the nothing is being drawn.
Why it is not doing as per the expectations. I want to draw a shape for example A with a outline. And i want it to be closed when drawing is ended and filled the hollow portion.
What am I doing wrong in this ?I am not implementing it in WM_PAINT but drawing is done in WM_LBUTTONUP.

We are making a game of Nim code.I'm 99% done with it, i worked hard on it and i feel like i did a good job, however my project is not displaying the matches i want. For example, it display's the inital number of them 23. But once the first player subtracts a number, it doesn't display matches for player 2, just the number of matches remaining. Then as i keep running the program the same thing happens. This is what it's supposed to

The first loop will print out all of numbers in the velocity column. The second while loop is looking for the maximum value in that column. It is supposed to print out the max velocity in the end of the second loop. However, when I build and run the program, it's crashed. I run debugger and received "Segmentation fault" error. When I eliminate the second loop, it run just fine I use Code::Block for text editor.

C++ :: Find And Replace Function For Text Editor
Jan 3, 2013I'm building a find and replace function for my text editor I'm building the function without support from the algorithm header.
The function is written like: doc.find_replace("Word_to_be_replaced", "The_word_that_is_replacing"); I find this very easy to understand replace this, with this.
find_replace will both have char * as their arguments.
The problem I'm having right now if I replace a bigger word for a smaller word how do I delete the extra characters from memory.
So if I replace "Goodbye" with "Hello" how do I delete the last two characters? So I don't print garbage code.
