tell me the EASIEST way to create a button with an image on it.
I am not interested in using the owner draw property with CBitmapButton and then have to create a whole lot of bitmaps for all the different button states.
There must be a way to simply create an ordinary button which displays an image rather than or as well as a caption....?
btnStatusPlr1.Image SHOULD come back as True.Then I realized it might not be the same as setting the buttons image in the properties (Which is what i did to get the original image (the one being compared to))
I do have a feeling ive done something wrong here (Yes im a noob /> )
Variable active, is the same image as the buttons default (Well should be)
I have created an application that has bunch of buttons on top and i want to change the image when I click on the button. But unfortunately I can't get it to work.
Here is the code:
if (serialPort1.IsOpen) { tsbCommPortOpenClose.ToolTipText = "Open serial port"; closeCommPortToolStripMenuItem.Text = "Open serial port"; tsbCommPortOpenClose.Image = Image.FromFile("Red.bmp"); serialPort1.Close(); [Code] ....
The second one which changes the image to "image2" works fine. Here is the definition of image2:
When I do the same with the other image that I want to use, it won't work! I opened the project properties and added the image into the resources too, and it still doesn't work. It fails and says the file was not there. I've put a copy of the file in the root directory and one in "Resources" folder but it still doesn't work.
Place an Image on top of a Button. Move both when the Button is pushed.
It's here [URL] exercise no.3
look at this code:
#include <GUI.h> using namespace Graph_lib; //------------------------------------------------ class rotation : public Window { public: rotation(Point xy, int w, int h, const string& title):
[code]....
The problem is that, it is not possible to define an Image in public/private part of the class rotation. Image needs all arguments to be supplied even when declaring one. (Image is here [URL] And if I define that Image in the body of main() function, so how to provide access for void rotate() to change its position with the position of button simultaneously.

I have a MFC dialog project, I move all the icons including the IDR_MAINFRAME icon into a resource-only DLL, so there is no icon embedded in the executable file. In the dialog initialization, the dialog loads the icons using LoadIcon(hResdll, MAKEINTRESOURCE(IDI_MYICON))). The icons shows correctly on the dialog.
But in the Windows Explorer, the icon of the .exe file is not the icon of IDR_MAINFRAME, I check the resource file in the resource-only dll project, the ID number of the IDR_MAINFRAME is the lowest one of all icon ID numbers. I also try
I'm developing a software for Windows using MSVC 2010. My employer sent me 2 png files: 16x16 and 32x32 for the icons.
What I would like to do is to use them as a MSVC icon resource and don't use any code hacks. In the past all I had was an ico file and I just included it in the resource (rc) file for Visual Studio and that was it.
Now my question is: how do I make one ico file out of those 2 png files that will be accepted by MSVC? Is there a tool (preferably free) for it or some online service?
how to change the mouse tracking icon during runtime. I wish to emulate the Microsoft Paint app behavior with respect, for example, to click on a toolbar button such as the 'Fill With Color' bucket and have the mouse pointer icon change to a little bucket. I wish to do this in an MFC SDI app.
Here's a bit of code that does nothing that I can tell, although it compiles and runs. (m_hIcon2 is a member HANDLE, IDI_FLOODFILL is an existing icon in the app resources). I have come across numerous other examples that do not work and/or will not compile using VS 2010 Win7(64).
Where in registry the Explorer stores tray icons visibility settings? (Always show, show only notifications, or always hide.)
I know that Microsoft doesn't want us to change these from a program, which may be OK for a home computer, but it becomes a major pain in the ___ for an enterprise environment (as there seems to be no GPO to do this either.) I've seen couple commercial products that were able to do this, so I'm sure there's a "hack" somewhere...
I made a dialog to have a customizable msgbox. (custom icon, custom caption on buttons). This is how I try to display an icon on the dialog but it is not working.
If I don't assign the icon to my executable file (f.e. it's a DOS application), or I have some unknown extension in the file, Windows Explorer assigns the icon to this file.
Is there a way to somehow get this icon? Either from the registry or by any other means.
I'm trying to create a dialog where some of the buttons have pictures on them, rather than plain text. I notice that under the button's properties, under the "styles" tab there's a checkbox "bitmap". I can't seem to find any easy way of setting a bitmap.

I have subclassed CFileDialog. I need to select both file and folder on certain case only. Suppose I have a folder selected and it is containing desired file type. Then in such situation, On clicking open button will not open the selected folder. But just close the CFileDialog with IDOK.
For doing this I need to provide my own implementation for Open button handler. I am not getting how I can do this.
I've created a new dialog in my MFC dialog based application. the new dialog contains 5 control buttons. The following happens and I don't understand why?
1. click on buttonX. (result ok, OnBnClicked message is sent) 2. click on on any place of the application, but not on the dialog.(removing focus from dialog) 3. click again on buttonX (FAILED, OnBnClicked message is NOT sent). but if instead I click on any other button in the dialog (result ok, OnBnClicked message is sent).
And when I do:
1. ... 2. ... 3. click on the dialog area just to set focus on the dialog again 4. click again on buttonX. (result ok, OnBnClicked message is sent) **I need to do step 3 only if I want to click again on the buttonX! why?? I think it related to SetFocus() but I m not sure how.
I've tried different style like, tool windows, overlapped, popup. it happens in all the cases.
Code: class CToolsDlg : public CBDialog { DECLARE_DYNAMIC(CToolsDlg) public: CToolsDlg(CWnd* pParent = NULL); // standard constructor virtual ~CToolsDlg(); CToolTipCtrl m_ToolsTips;
I have a dialog box with several edit control boxes and I want to identify the edit control when I click the left mouse button on it. Any button action (up or down) doesn;t register when the mouse is clicked on any of the edit controls. There has got to be a simple way to do this.
