C :: Make Program That Takes Number Input From Tuser?

Jul 27, 2013

I have to make a program that takes a number input from the user and prints the corresponding fibonacci sequence number. For example, for the input of 3, it should print 2 since the third term in the fibonacci sequence is 2.

I am not sure how to do this so for my attempt, I used the formula found in this website. A Formula for the nth Fibonacci number

Here is the program so far. It doesn't produce the correct output.

Code:

#include <stdio.h>
#include "genlib.h"
#include "simpio.h"
#include "math.h"

C++ :: Program To Allow A User To Input A Number From Keyboard That Involves Loop Not Working Right?

Mar 30, 2014

I'm trying to write a C++ program that will allow a user to input a number from the keyboard. Then using a loop, that will perform 10 times, multiply the entered number by the loop counter. Print out the loop counter, the entered number and the product of the loop counter and the entered number. A one-time heading should be displayed before information is printed.

This kinda of what I have so far:

#include <iosteam>
using namespace std;
int main () {
Start
Declare: numScores, sum, score, avg, SENTINEL = 200
numScores = 0

[Code] ....

All the programs I have tried to make are not working?

C :: How To Make A Switch Case Loop After Input Entered

ex) Code:

printf("Select an option);
printf("1. Play game");
printf("2. Status");
printf("3. Exit");
scanf("%i", &userinput);
switch(userinput);

For my program, I want option 2 to display something, then loop back to "select and option" after the user presses enter. How would I write that? Would i use a while? do while?

Something that does something like this

at this point run a loop for all players, in this loop use random to determine the face and depending on the face run a loop (for roll again etc) or give next user the chance.

And this loop is 2-12 people, all rolling die.
They draw 3 die out of a cup of 12.
Then they roll the 3 die, getting fish, hook, or boot on each die.

C :: Bulls And Cows Program - Compare Table With Input String

Dec 14, 2013

I'm having a small problem on comparing a table i coded with a string that I want to input. I'm actually building a Bulls and Cows program and this is part of my assignment. What i want to do is to input a string and from the table get the results compared to the string i inputted.

Few words about the Bulls and Cows program.

The game involves two players, a coder and a cracker. The coder (either a person or a computer) chooses the four-digit number with all different digits and keeps it secret. The cracker tries to guess the secret number. After a guess, the coder gives you information about number of digits which were correctly guessed but in the wrong place (they are called 'cows') and how many are both the right digit and in the correct place (they are called 'bulls').

For example, if the coder chooses the secret number 0419 and the cracker guesses 6039, then the coder scores this as 1 cow, since 0 is a digit in the secret number that's in the wrong place, and 1 bull (9 is in the right place.)

what i want to do is when i input a string it scans the whole table of possibilities and gives me the results based on the string. so each row of my table is (let's say the secret code) and based on the given string(the guess) it gives me the result. Here's my table code:

Code:
void initialize(int poss[1296][4])
{
int i=0;
int j, k=0;
int m;

C :: Make A Program That Multiplies Loop Variable By 2

I have an exam in C programming I'm a little stuck on loops..I have to make a program that multiplies the loop variable by 2 then takes away 1... easy, that was a for loop no problem

for (x=3; x<=65; x=x*2-1)

that should print out 3 5 9 17 33 65 however, my lecturer has given the task for it to reverse, but not to display the number 17 on the way back down using an if statement...however, this time it must be a do while loop... This is what I have so far.

Code:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main()

C :: How To Write A Program To Make The User Input With Text

I need to write a program to make the user input some text, and the first letter of each word has to be uppercase. (have to use while loops)

So for example lets say the user inputs:

The output needs to be:

Code: int main()
{
char c, lower_c;
printf("Enter Text");
while (c != '' && c >= 0)
{
if (c >= 'A' && c <= 'Z')
lower_c = c + 32;
else
lower_c = c;

I have started this code by making the letters lowercase (I don't know if this was the right way to approach this, ). I am not sure how proceed after this step, the step of making the first letter uppercase. (PS for the program, loops should be while loops)

C++ :: How To Make A Program That Converts Input Numbers Into Equivalent Words

Nov 16, 2013

I've reached a point in "Jumping into C++" where I need to make a program that converts input numbers into their word equivalent.

So far I've made it work for numbers 0-9999. I've tried implementing 10000-99999 but there are problems with the order of the words printed (57865 would print fifty thousand seven thousand eight hundred sixty five). But besides that, the program is absolutely enormous (for me) and I'm wondering if it can be shortened. Keep in mind I can only use loops and if statements so far. Here it is:

Code:

#include <iostream>
#include <string>
void extras(int e);
void digits(int x);
void tens(int xx);
void hundreds(int xxx);
void thousands(int xxxx);
//void tens_of_thousands(long xxxxx);

C++ :: Hash Table Program - Sorting Pointer Table After All Of Values Entered

I am having an issue with my sort function. This is one part of the Hash table program. The main issue is that I am trying to sort the pointer table after all of the values have been entered. Is there another way I should be trying this? it is a Vector should I use the sort() function from the vector class in STL?
