C# :: Using MessageBoxButtons Dialog With Multiple Lines Of Text And Parameters

Jan 31, 2014

I am trying to make a messageBoxButtons dialog with the 'yes, no' buttons. Im having trouble because of the multiple lines and parameters already in the message, this means that when i declare the messageBoxButtons.YesNo and the title - it throws an error because of the multiple lines etc...

How can I get the yes/no message box to work in this instance?

class Output {
string text; {
DialogResult dialogResult = MessageBox.Show("Please make sure the following information is correct before submitting."
+ "

Date: " + Date

C++ :: Display Last 1000 Lines From Multiple Text Files (log Files)

Jan 16, 2014

I am writing a piece of code that requires me to display the last 1000 lines from a multiple text files (log files). FYI, I am running on Linux and using g++.

I have a log file from which - if it contains more than 1000 lines, I need to display the last 1000 lines. However, the log file could get rotated. So, in case where the current log file contains less than 1000 lines, I have to go to older log file and display the remaining. For e.g., if log got rotated and new log file contains 20 lines, I have to display the 980 lines from old log file + 20 from current log files.

What is the best way to do this? Even an outline algorithm will work.

Visual C++ :: Macro With Multiple Parameters

Oct 22, 2014

In the following example, SET_DARKENING_PARAMETERS_0 is a fairly simple macro which accepts 9 parameters. The first one is called driver and the other 8 are all ints. Basically, the 8 x ints get assigned to the first 8 elements of an array which is owned by driver. I can call the macro successfully if I do this:-

Code: SET_DARKENING_PARAMETERS_0 ( some_driver, 500, 400, 1000, 275, 1667, 275, 2333, 0 );

But in the actual code I'm trying to compile, the 8 x ints are themselves encoded into a secondary macro like this:-

Code: #define CONFIG_OPTION_DARKENING_PARAMETERS 500, 400, 1000, 275, 1667, 275, 2333, 0

So the actual code (to call SET_DARKENING_PARAMETERS_0) looks like this:-

Code: SET_DARKENING_PARAMETERS_0 ( some_driver, CONFIG_OPTION_DARKENING_PARAMETERS );

But the two combined macros won't compile with VC8. Basically, I get warning #C4003 (not enough parameters for macro 'SET_DARKENING_PARAMETERS_0') followed by a load of syntax errors. However, the code (allegedly) compiles with gcc.

I'm wondering if macro CONFIG_OPTION_DARKENING_PARAMETERS might be getting truncated to just 500, (with the following parameters getting ignored)?

Visual C++ :: Draw Multiple Lines And Move Them On Screen

Jul 28, 2013

I am writing a pure C based win32 applications. I have drawn line. Now i want to translate that line, move the line whereved user wants to move on screen. Then again I drawn another line, I am drawing multiple lines.

I have created rectangle region for each line and trying to move the line.

When I move the 2nd line over the 1st line on screen the 1st line is getting wiped out. Because I am InvalidateRect() of the rect for the line being moved, so when that rectangle is crossing the other line then the other line is getting removed from the screen.

How can I rectify it. How can I have all the lined being on the screen and moved according to the user's wish. The code should be pure C and win32 no MFC.

Visual C++ :: Show Some Rich Text In A Dialog Box?

Nov 26, 2012

I have been told to show some text document when our application starts up, it is an EULA. They gave me a word file and I saved this file in a .rtf format. I then wish to show this in a dialog box and found this on code guru: [URL]

Which seems to be a sub-class that will do all the formatting for me. So I use that class and then load in the .rtf file, using their setRTF method I just get an empty text box.

I just want to be able to show this formatted, somewhat pretty text from this document in my application as close as I can to the original document. Is there an easy way to do that? I could turn it into plain text, but I think that my boss would not be happy about that.

The problem was that I needed the text box to be marked multi-line.

However, if you were to copy this:

Visual C++ :: CString - Display Some Data In Text Format On A Dialog

Aug 7, 2014

I am trying to display some data in text format on a dialog and I am using a CString to do it. Below is how I coded it.

Code:
CString outputStr;
CString auxStr;
// Add header
outputStr.Format("");
auxStr.Format("%-7s%-20s%-7s%-20s%s

[Code] .....

But the output rows are not aligned as shown in the attached picture. There a two problems.

1. Data rows don't align with the header row.
2. When the first element of a row changes to two digits, the other elements are shifted.

According to MSDN [URL] ...., CString::Format() works the same way as printf(). I wrote a small program using printf() to do the same thing, and the output in the console are perfectly aligned.

What have I missed when doing the display in GUI?

This is the second line.

int main() {
std::ifstream data;

The output I want is:

This is the first line.
This is the second line.

However, all I am getting is:

This is the first line.

I can't quite see why this isn't working. I am decently familiar with file streams in C++, so I thought I would know what I was doing, but apparently not.

I have everything else I want working, except that I can't figure out how to assign different lines of text to different years.

C# :: How To Read Extra Lines Of Text File

So in this code, the user basically opens a text file from the dialog. Then the file gets read on all the lines and gets stored in an array. Now the reason I did this is because there are more fields of text boxes I have to fill in after I fill in the table (6x3). I'm getting an out of bounds error however.
