C++ :: How To Get Browse Directory Dialog To Update Text Box With Path Selected
Jan 8, 2013
I'm trying to get a Browse Directory dialog to update a text box with the path selected. I had it working fine in Unicode build but now using TCHAR - I see the variable contains the correct path, but the textbox only gets updated with a single weird character.
I want to set the rootpath of an executable application. This rootpath should be the same as the path of an item that I select from a ListBox. The code for selecting the item is as follows.
namespace Menu { public partial class Form1 : Form { private Button button; private ListBox listBox1; private string selecteditem;
[Code] ....
Now what I want is: Whatever I get the output as in the :
Console.Writeline(path + selecteditem),
I would want to set this as a rootpath for an application so as to do rest of the measurements or steps only in that path/folder. Is it possible to do something like this?
Error 1 error C3867: 'std::basic_string<char,std::char_traits<char>,std ::allocator<char>>::size': function call missing argument list; use '&std::basic_string<char,std::char_traits<char>,st d::allocator<char>>::size' to create a pointer to member.
when we click on a line in text area I want to open a popup having all text from that line. I should be able to select some of its text then if I click on save button of popup then only selected text should be saved and displayed in original text area of form. I want to use this for multiple sentences of text area.
I'm trying to build an app, but i don't know which is the best language choice. For starters, the app should be able to:
1. run from context menu 2. when selecting some text from a web browser (ff, ie), that text is captured (preferably not in clipboard) and sent as argument to the program via context menu and the program starts executing...
I am trying to create an application interface serial data reception using c #. I send the data from the serial adc microcontroller adc atmega 16 ... the data is 0 to 1023. In the textbox that I use as a data reception, data updates to the bottom if I use ReadLine coding.
examples: 1023 1023 1023 256 669
If I use ReadExisting, the data displayed by the textbox moves to the side. examples 102310231023256669
When the data changes from 0-1023 of serial communication, and clear the data will store in otomatiis in the textbox.
When there is reception of data with a value of 1023 and immediately there is a change to the value of 555 textbox value will not store the value of 1023, I want the value in 1023 immediately deleted automatically and change the value to 555 when a change in the value of the data ...
The following is the complete source code:
using System; using System.Collections.Generic; using System.ComponentModel; using System.Data; using System.Drawing; using System.Linq; using System.Text; using System.Windows.Forms; namespace serial { public partial class Form1 : Form {
It's my understanding that there are three ways to go about updating a control on a form from a class.
A) Instance the form, eg: Form1 Frm = new Form1(); The problems I have run into with this is that while writing text to a richtextbox using the instance Frm, the richtextbox never updates on the form.
B) Passing the object to the class. This method seems less used and can be very problematic. Haven't looked into it thoroughly.
C) Exposing the objects using classes within the Form. While making methods public they still do now show as available for use when calling from classes, unless I instance them but then I run into problem A. I've considered making the methods static so no instancing is required but when doing so the object(in this case richtextbox) becomes invalid due to itself being instanced by the automatically generated code when adding the object.
I know there is another way to pass values then force the object to update but that won't necessarily work with a richtextbox as you have the option to deal with color and font variations.
I imagine I'm missing something pretty simple here but I can't find any resources online about how to handle objects with more complex data than just straight text.
Example of problem A
//called from a class Form1 Chat = new Form1(); Chat.BeginChat(); Chat.AddChat(Color.Lime, "Testing"); Chat.EndChat();
I retrieve all the row values from database into text box.But I could not Update it.It shows error message is : The variable name '@value' has already been declared. Variable names must be unique within a query batch or stored procedure. Must declare the scalar variable "@keyValue".
my code is here:
public partial class ECB_ECBConfiguration : System.Web.UI.Page { protected void Page_Load(object sender, EventArgs e) { DataTable dt = ECBDal.GetECBConfiguration(); foreach(DataColumn col in dt.Columns)
How to configurate color of selected text. I am not sure why, but in Visual C++ it is not displayed as in other programs like notepad, which should be harder color. So I cannot find the selected text. Where can I configurate it or where to search it in desktop theme settings?
I am not getting all the records.... when i select the same date in both datetimepicker no record is displayed... i also want the record of the selected dates from both datetime picker..
I need to open a text file game_scores.txt and i can not figure out a way to.
#include <iostream> #include <string> #include <fstream> using namespace std; int main() {
[Code] ....
the code is used to read the text and take the first 4 pieces of info but i do not know how to do it. i have already created the text file and moved it into the source. i am using visual studios 2012. In 2010 the text file would show a relative path, it doesn't in 2012
I have been told to show some text document when our application starts up, it is an EULA. They gave me a word file and I saved this file in a .rtf format. I then wish to show this in a dialog box and found this on code guru: [URL]
Which seems to be a sub-class that will do all the formatting for me. So I use that class and then load in the .rtf file, using their setRTF method I just get an empty text box.
I just want to be able to show this formatted, somewhat pretty text from this document in my application as close as I can to the original document. Is there an easy way to do that? I could turn it into plain text, but I think that my boss would not be happy about that.
The problem was that I needed the text box to be marked multi-line.
I am trying to make a messageBoxButtons dialog with the 'yes, no' buttons. Im having trouble because of the multiple lines and parameters already in the message, this means that when i declare the messageBoxButtons.YesNo and the title - it throws an error because of the multiple lines etc...
How can I get the yes/no message box to work in this instance?
class Output { string text; { DialogResult dialogResult = MessageBox.Show("Please make sure the following information is correct before submitting." + " Date: " + Date + " Hours worked: " + Hours + " Hourly rate: $" + Rate
I have a tabbed dialog with a couple of Separate dialogs. I created classes of CDialog for each dialog. Im trying to get the text from the edit control from the tabbed dialog and it appears in a message box when I press a button on the main dialog.
Code: myDialog test; test.UpdateData(TRUE); CString bla = test.m_edit1; test.UpdateData(FALSE); MessageBox(bla,bla,MB_OK);
The m_edit is a variable of CString for the edit box
it gives me a error and crashes.
How do I get the text from the other dialogs edit control?
I'm reading from stdin a line. With that line, I should open a new textfile with the first letter of that line on a certain directory. My code is the following :
Code:
int main() { char line[BUFSIZ]; FILE *ptr_file; int x; while(fgets(line,BUFSIZ,stdin) != NULL){
[Code] ....
char caminho[] is the directory in which I want to create the text file and chave will be the first letter of the line in stdin.
How am I supposed to use strcat to get these two together in a string to then use ptr_file =fopen(caminho, "w");
I want to write a single line to a file and upload it as a .txt file to a server directory . I know the traditional way to upload a local file to a server
But the output rows are not aligned as shown in the attached picture. There a two problems.
1. Data rows don't align with the header row. 2. When the first element of a row changes to two digits, the other elements are shifted.
According to MSDN [URL] ...., CString::Format() works the same way as printf(). I wrote a small program using printf() to do the same thing, and the output in the console are perfectly aligned.
