C# :: Getting Text Contained In External Application

May 8, 2012

i'm iterating through the system processes an when i find a process that belongs to a text oriented application, i want to read that text inside the external app. For example, when i get the process to an instance of notepad, i want to get the text contained inside notepad. i've tried to do it using Process.MainWindowHandle pointer, but with no success. How to do it? (This is for an "nanny" app i'm writing, which need access to text in external applications so that i can detect any unappropriated words)

C :: Fastest Way To Check If Bytes Contained In Array Are All X00

Nov 30, 2014

I'll process the raw content of a stream which obviously will be loaded one chunk at a time into an buffer.I need to check if every chunk content is x00 filled. If it is, I'll increase the blank chunks counter of 1.On your personal opinion, which is the fastest an less cycles consuming manner to achieve such result?

I was wondering this: is it possible to make an instant XOR of all the buffer content to check if it does return 0 ?the only way is it to cycle through all the bytes and compare each one of them with 0?

C++ :: Inventory Control Application - Editing Text File

Nov 14, 2014

You are requested to create an inventory control application for a drink stall (give a name to the stall). The application is used to show the list of drinks the stall sells, how many of each item on‐hand and the cost of each item. The records are to be saved and retrieved to/from a binary file called “drinks.txt”. For each drink in the stall, your program is to keep the information as a Record Structure called DrinkRecord. The structure should at least consist of the following:

(1) Item Number
(2) Item Name
(3) Quantity
(4) Unit Price

Your application should have the following features:
(a) Display a drink information
(b) Add a new drink information
(c) Update a new drink information
(d) Delete a drink information
(e) Display all drink information

#include <string>
#include <fstream>
#include <vector>
#include <iterator>
#include <algorithm>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <iomanip>

[code].....

Everything works fine with minor issues, but I'm having trouble with the editing function. I need to be able to search for a specific drink then be able to edit its contents and print the new contents to the file. I have not created a structure yet. I will do that as soon as possible.

C# :: How To Start Application And Automatically Pass Input To That Application

May 9, 2012

I want to create an application that starts an application and passes input to that application. I know how to start a process using the classes in System.Diagnostics, but I don't know how to pass data to the process.

For example, and this is just an example, I would like to be able to automatically start an application that requires a username and password and automatically enter the username and password. Of course, that might open the door to security vulnerabilities, but that's not the point of the exercise.

How to implement the functionality I described? Is there a general way to go about doing this or does it depend entirely on the idiosyncrasies of the application in question?

I need to know if I am using the correct method to choose file name. And how to set a script(double) variable to print input text or choose an on/off (0|1) input to be written to a text file.

Any links to flags (i.e. pointers and how to use them).

C# :: Removing Title Bar From External App

Jan 3, 2015

I'm trying to remove the title bar from an external app. The reason is I don't want anyone to be able to move it.

But my code below doesn't remove the title bar. Could this be because it's not removable? I read somewhere title bars of external apps may be not removable if the app doesn't allow it.

So, I'm not sure why my code doesn't work - either it's wrong or the app doesn't permit it?

My app is a winform.

int style = GetWindowLong(app1Win, GWL_STYLE);
style = style & ~WS_BORDER;
SetWindowLong(app1Win, GWL_STYLE, style);
SetWindowPos(app1Win, HWND_TOP, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE | SWP_NOSIZE);

Is there any error? Why I take a warning: 'v' initialized and declared 'extern'|||=== Build finished: 0 errors, 1 warnings ===| ???

and what is the meaning of :An extern declaration that initializes a variable serves as a definition of the variable. This rule prevents multiple extern declarations from initializing a variable in different ways.

C++ :: Unresolved External Symbol Errors

Apr 10, 2013

I'm getting the following error:

The ios flags are new to me and that may be part of the problem. As soon as I can get a working program, I'm going to make the starting balance and interest rate user inputs. But I get seem to get past this error.
