C# :: Getting Text Contained In External Application

May 8, 2012

i'm iterating through the system processes an when i find a process that belongs to a text oriented application, i want to read that text inside the external app. For example, when i get the process to an instance of notepad, i want to get the text contained inside notepad. i've tried to do it using Process.MainWindowHandle pointer, but with no success. How to do it? (This is for an "nanny" app i'm writing, which need access to text in external applications so that i can detect any unappropriated words)

C++ :: Inline Function Prefix - External Call And GCC?

Jan 17, 2014

I have some functions inlined using the inline function prefix. If the function is called from outside the file (so a seperate psp-gcc -O3 ... filename.c filename.o compile command, when only the function is changed), will the other files be updated too? (I'm using the pspsdk toolchain).

Example:

max.c
inline byte max(byte a, byte b) {
return a>b?a:b;
} use1.c
void use1() {
if (max(1,2)==0)

[Code] ....

If I compile this, next change the max function and recompile using make (the compiler only takes the changed max.c->max.o file, next links them together) will use1.c&use2.c be updated with the new max.c function?

Visual C++ :: Application That Process Multiple Files Through Command Prompt Call

Dec 22, 2012

I am making an application that processes multiple files (typically > 500) through a command prompt call. The way I start the command prompt app is by looping using a call to CreateProcess for each file that is to be processed. It works fine, except that I somehow loose 'connection' to my app so that

1: Windows says that the app. is 'Not Responding'
2: The Cprogress bar in my app is not updated before all files have been processed, even though there is a CreateProcess call and a Cprogress.StepIt() from the app for each file that needs processing.

I somehow suspect that the CPU gets swamped... I do not want that Windows starts to say that my app is 'not responding' and I want my Cprogress dialog bar to update according to the number of files that are progressed through.

I wonder if multithreading is the OK way to go instead of just kicking of series of CreateProcess calls? Maybe my CreateProcess is not ending correctly? It seems as if my app is 'not regaining control' before very late. The app never crashes though.

My CreateProcess code is listed below, maybe there can be a problem with it, or maybe I should do things in a different way? My app basicaly works as it never crashes, but with above mentioned problems it is NOT a pro solution...

void CMultiFilerDlg::ProcessFile(CString pdfFile) {
int i=0;
DWORD ProcID;
// Open file in text mode:
STARTUPINFO si;
PROCESS_INFORMATION pi;
char cmdArgs[2052];

[Code] .....

Visual C++ :: Creating DLL That Will Be Used As Plugin In External Program Using MFC

Jan 30, 2013

This is the problem in detail:

I have a VC++ project to create a DLL that will be used as a Plug-in in an external programm. This DLL uses some MFC functions. The initial configuration of the project was:

-Use of MFC: Use MFC in a Static Library

-Common Language Runtime support: No Common Language Runtime support

-Runtime Library: Multi-threaded Debug (/MTd)

This configuration worked fine, there were no compilation errors and the resulting DLL worked correctly.

The problem came when it was necessary to add to the DLL some functions of .NET, using the namespace System and similar. To do that, I had to change the Common Language Runtime support, to Common Language Runtime Support (/clr). Then, when I tried to compile, I got this message:

'/MTd' and '/clr' command-line options are incompatible

So I changed the Runtime Library to Multi-threaded Debug DLL (/MDd). Then I got this error message:

Building MFC application with /MD[d] (CRT dll version) requires MFC shared dll version

So I also changed the Use of MFC to Use MFC in a Shared DLL.

After this, the compilation was correct. Then logically the size of the generated DLL is smaller, but this new DLL does not work correctly, the external program in which this DLL is used crashes.

I don't know what to do to fix the problem. Maybe I need to add some other DLLs or files to the directory where the DLL is located, where the external program uses it. But I would prefer to include a single DLL file, but this seems to be incompatible with the use of .NET functionality.

C++ :: Store Related Data Of Program Into External File?

May 14, 2013

How is it possible to store the related data of a program C++ into an external file (like as .txt) and retrieve it?

I want to write c++ program that can contain data members " id and phone"

like as
Code:
class profile {
private: int id,phone;
public:
void retriever() {
cout<<"Enter your ID: ";
cin>>id;
cout<<"Your Phone number is "<< phone;
};
}

avoiding formats in above class, purpose is to store data already in txt file with different id and phone numbers and it is to be retrieved by matching id number to txt file and viewing its related phone number.

C# :: How To Start Application And Automatically Pass Input To That Application

May 9, 2012

I want to create an application that starts an application and passes input to that application. I know how to start a process using the classes in System.Diagnostics, but I don't know how to pass data to the process.

For example, and this is just an example, I would like to be able to automatically start an application that requires a username and password and automatically enter the username and password. Of course, that might open the door to security vulnerabilities, but that's not the point of the exercise.

How to implement the functionality I described? Is there a general way to go about doing this or does it depend entirely on the idiosyncrasies of the application in question?
