I think there is no always need of keyword extern in order to declare variables globally. Is it right?
For example I can declare a variable globally in one file and use it in some other provided that I have included the last one file ( that has the declaration of the variable of course) and compile these files together :
gcc -c f1.c f2.c for example
I am starting to learn C, its quite an easy language to learn from the basics, I hope to learn others as time goes, I wonna know how do I get the external / remote IP of a computer?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am trying to write to external file in GCC. So far I can get to this:
#include <iostream>;
#include <fstream.h>;
using namespace std;
int stream (int argc, char* const argv[]) {
ifstream in ("mcp.strings");
[Code] ....
I need to know if I am using the correct method to choose file name. And how to set a script(double) variable to print input text or choose an on/off (0|1) input to be written to a text file.
Any links to flags (i.e. pointers and how to use them).
I'd like to use the Big Integer Library [URL], but I have issues to use it. I'm using Xcode as compiler and I don't know how to include the library in my project files. When I drag all the files in the project directory and write the statement #include <BigInteger.hh> on the top of the declaration of the main function, even whiteout any other code, I get lots of build error on the .hh and .cc file.
how to include the library on my project.
I want to be able to make this code read those two lists from an external .txt file from my desktop for example. This will make it so I can read larger amount of words instead of having to paste them all in this script.
So instead of
std::istringstream tokens_in(
R"(word4
word5
word6
word1
[Code] ....
I want it to find those lists externally. How could this be done, if possible even?
I'm trying to remove the title bar from an external app. The reason is I don't want anyone to be able to move it.
But my code below doesn't remove the title bar. Could this be because it's not removable? I read somewhere title bars of external apps may be not removable if the app doesn't allow it.
So, I'm not sure why my code doesn't work - either it's wrong or the app doesn't permit it?
My app is a winform.
int style = GetWindowLong(app1Win, GWL_STYLE);
style = style & ~WS_BORDER;
SetWindowLong(app1Win, GWL_STYLE, style);
SetWindowPos(app1Win, HWND_TOP, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE | SWP_NOSIZE);
Why I take warning on this code :
Code:
#include<stdio.h>
extern int v = 0; // Declaration and definition of an external
int main(void)
[code]...
Is there any error? Why I take a warning: 'v' initialized and declared 'extern'|||=== Build finished: 0 errors, 1 warnings ===| ???
and what is the meaning of :An extern declaration that initializes a variable serves as a definition of the variable. This rule prevents multiple extern declarations from initializing a variable in different ways.
i'm iterating through the system processes an when i find a process that belongs to a text oriented application, i want to read that text inside the external app. For example, when i get the process to an instance of notepad, i want to get the text contained inside notepad. i've tried to do it using Process.MainWindowHandle pointer, but with no success. How to do it? (This is for an "nanny" app i'm writing, which need access to text in external applications so that i can detect any unappropriated words)

I'm getting the following error:
Error1error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol "public: __thiscall SavingsAccount::SavingsAccount(void)" (??0SavingsAccount@@QAE@XZ) referenced in function _main
The ios flags are new to me and that may be part of the problem. As soon as I can get a working program, I'm going to make the starting balance and interest rate user inputs. But I get seem to get past this error.

I am trying to call an external application in my C++ program , example, system("C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe"); but the application just gets closed.
1. double slashes need to be used.
2. the command that worked for me was "ShellExecuteEx"
How can i use a function pointer from external class? Say we have a class tuna

int (*foobar)();

I'm trying to implement this queue class, and I don't know why it won't compile. I wrote a main function in the main.cpp file and even commented out the calls to functions add and removed and still gave me the fatal error.
queue.h
#ifndef QUEUE_H
#define QUEUE_H
namespace queuesavitch {
struct QueueNode {
char data;
[Code] .....
This is a file called namespaces.h
#pragma once
namespace mycode {

}
This is a file called source.cpp
#include <iostream>
#include "namespaces.h"
namespace mycode {
void foo() {
std::cout << "foo() called in the mycode namespace" << std::endl;
}
}
When I try to run this code i keep getting these errors;

I have some functions inlined using the inline function prefix. If the function is called from outside the file (so a seperate psp-gcc -O3 ... filename.c filename.o compile command, when only the function is changed), will the other files be updated too? (I'm using the pspsdk toolchain).
Example:
max.c
inline byte max(byte a, byte b) {
return a>b?a:b;
} use1.c
void use1() {
if (max(1,2)==0)
[Code] ....
If I compile this, next change the max function and recompile using make (the compiler only takes the changed max.c->max.o file, next links them together) will use1.c&use2.c be updated with the new max.c function?

So even though I have so many issues with linking libraries, I apparently became the go-to person for a fellow college friend of mine for a sql library. He's using the mysql connector/c++ and his team has had quite a few issues getting it set up. I've solved two out of three issues:
1st issue I solved was that they didn't know how to build boost, I just linked it and they were good to go.
2nd issue I solved was that they were missing libmysql.lib, I just installed the mysql server onto their computer and linked that up. 3rd issue is where I am now stumped at, as they get a compile error: LNK2001 unresolved external symbol: _get_driver_instance().

Is there any way that I can call a function/receive an event whenever an external window (not any of my forms) repaints/draws?
If you create a GDI+ graphics object and give it the HWND of another window that refreshes a lot like a web browser, anything with animated graphics, your draws and the windows draws are out of sync which creates an intense flicker effect.
Googling this issue only brings up results for handling when my own form repaints...
My idea is that I could just redraw my GDI stuff whenever the form redraws, this is indeed possible?
I know I can use ping internally to test a device's connectivity. What can I use to test devices on another network (assuming ports are forwarded, and their IP addresses are at my disposal)? I was looking into the TCP Client class.. would that also work with devices using DynDNS?
View 7 Replies View RelatedThis is the problem in detail:
I have a VC++ project to create a DLL that will be used as a Plug-in in an external programm. This DLL uses some MFC functions. The initial configuration of the project was:
-Use of MFC: Use MFC in a Static Library
-Common Language Runtime support: No Common Language Runtime support
-Runtime Library: Multi-threaded Debug (/MTd)
This configuration worked fine, there were no compilation errors and the resulting DLL worked correctly.
The problem came when it was necessary to add to the DLL some functions of .NET, using the namespace System and similar. To do that, I had to change the Common Language Runtime support, to Common Language Runtime Support (/clr). Then, when I tried to compile, I got this message:
'/MTd' and '/clr' command-line options are incompatible
So I changed the Runtime Library to Multi-threaded Debug DLL (/MDd). Then I got this error message:
Building MFC application with /MD[d] (CRT dll version) requires MFC shared dll version
So I also changed the Use of MFC to Use MFC in a Shared DLL.
After this, the compilation was correct. Then logically the size of the generated DLL is smaller, but this new DLL does not work correctly, the external program in which this DLL is used crashes.
I don't know what to do to fix the problem. Maybe I need to add some other DLLs or files to the directory where the DLL is located, where the external program uses it. But I would prefer to include a single DLL file, but this seems to be incompatible with the use of .NET functionality.
How is it possible to store the related data of a program C++ into an external file (like as .txt) and retrieve it?
I want to write c++ program that can contain data members " id and phone"
like as
Code:
class profile {
private: int id,phone;
public:
void retriever() {
cout<<"Enter your ID: ";
cin>>id;
cout<<"Your Phone number is "<< phone;
};
}
avoiding formats in above class, purpose is to store data already in txt file with different id and phone numbers and it is to be retrieved by matching id number to txt file and viewing its related phone number.
