C :: How To Test Program That Opens Files In Command Line

Mar 10, 2014

The below program is supposed to display the contents of all files listed in the command line. When I try to run the program I get the fatal error "Debug Assertion Failed" Expression: file != NULL. I've done some researching on the matter and I gather it might be because I don't have any files listed in the command line?

How to enter files in the command line! I opened the Command Window in Windows XP and tried typing in "C> argc" and "% argc" (argc being the name of the file containing the below program) without any luck.

Code:

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main (int argc, char * argv[]) {
int ch; // int to hold EOF
int count;
FILE *fp;
for(count = 1; count <= argc; count++) // agrc loop

C++ :: Enable Client To Iterate Internal Vector

Nov 26, 2012

The example enable a client to iterate the internal std::vector using being() and end().

Code:
class foo {
public:
typedef std::vector<std::string>const_iterator iter;
iter begin () const;
iter end () const;

[Code] .....

In the future I see the need for this class to be able to control sequence (sorting) and also show a subset of the complete list based on a search parameter.

Using std::sort appear to solve the ability to sort the collection.

How can I return an iterator to the client which only iterates a sub-set of all items in the std::vector?

An example would be, I add this method to the class;

Code:
void find(const std::string& st);

So if the client performs (below) only items in std::vector that contains the character "a" should be possible to iterate.

Code:
foo f;
f.search("a");

One option would be to operate with two collection inside the foo class. One more static containing all items and the other containing the sorted and filtered items. This would lead to some copying but should work. Far from perfect.

C++ :: Declare A Struct / Class In A File For Local Use But With Internal Linkage?

Mar 15, 2013

I've been wondering about something for a while:

Is it possible to declare a struct/class, in a cpp file, designed for local use, but with internal linkage?

The usecase is that every once in a while, I want to wrap "startXXX+endXXX" function pairs in a simple RAII struct. I just declare the struct in my cpp and use it once.

However, if I do this, (AFAIK), the compiler will generate an entry in the link table, which means I could potentially have link conflicts if I declare the same struct twice in two different cpp files.

Unless I'm mistaken, since the struct is declared in the same cpp that it is used, I wouldn't need external linkage. Is there a way to avoid it?

C# :: Removing Title Bar From External App

Jan 3, 2015

I'm trying to remove the title bar from an external app. The reason is I don't want anyone to be able to move it.

But my code below doesn't remove the title bar. Could this be because it's not removable? I read somewhere title bars of external apps may be not removable if the app doesn't allow it.

So, I'm not sure why my code doesn't work - either it's wrong or the app doesn't permit it?

My app is a winform.

int style = GetWindowLong(app1Win, GWL_STYLE);
style = style & ~WS_BORDER;
SetWindowLong(app1Win, GWL_STYLE, style);
SetWindowPos(app1Win, HWND_TOP, 0, 0, 0, 0, SWP_NOMOVE | SWP_NOSIZE);

C# :: GUI Based Test Automation

Aug 7, 2014

I am new to C# and just want to understand if an entire Test Automation Framework can be built using only C#. I would not want any dependency on available commercial tools in the market for executing the Test Action steps. Though a few points that i see will need to be taken care of at the onset.

1. creating and maintaining Object repository in some form of file extension
2. preparing a GUI for capturing user Test Action Steps
3. retrieving the respective test objects from Object Repository and firing the respective Action commands on those objects
4. handling test data within the Automation Framework Solution folder.

I have been exploring a series of blogs and found that point # 2 and 4 are achievable. However points 1 & 3 above looks a big challenge.
