C/C++ :: Making String Count Numbers / Blanks And Alphabetical Characters

I'm trying to create a program that counts the amount of alphabetical characters, numbers, blanks and total amount of characters in a string a user gets to enter. The user also quits the program manually by pressing CTRL + D (in linux terminal).
These are the results I get from the code so far by typing in "hello cplusplus 123 c++" CTRL + D.
The string had:
Alphabetical characters...: 0
Numbers...................: 0
Blanks....................: 3
Total amount of characters: 20
So I can't seem to find a way to count the amount of alphabetical characters and numeric characters.

The reason why I declared cctype is that I think I should use the isalpha, isdigit and isblank functions but how I am supposed to do that.

The thing is, when I don't create a prototype of count and straightaway define it before void main() my program runs, but it gives error in this program that "extra parameter in call to count()" But what to do then?

My program reads a string of characters. Prints all occurrences of letters and numbers, sorted in alphabetical and numerical order. Letters will be converted to uppercase.Other characters are filtered out, while number of white spaces are counted.
the problem is it crushes when i run the program

I am trying to read information in from a file, each line of which contains a name in the form 'last, first middle'. I can successfully open the file and read it into an array that is roughly 2500 string in size. The problem comes when I try to sort the array into alphabetical order. I am using a sorting algorithm that we were instructed to use, found in our book. It is shown in the code. I would add the file that needs to be opened, but it is a few thousand lines long.
The error I am getting is:
Unhandled exception at 0x00A28628 in PeopleSearch.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00CC400C.
and I know it has to do with the sorting algorithm from using break points and running the program with that section commented out. I am stumped to why it is giving this error, as it seems that it is trying to access the array outside of the bounds of the array, but it shouldn't be

So I been working on this c++ project and I need to be able to take three seperate strings and send them to function to put them in alphabetical order through a-z and use the swap function to return them in order. I been searching for problems like this but I haven't fame across any. I can copy my code onto here as well as a more detailed description of what I'm needing to do onto here if needed.

I'm supposed to write a program to read a text file and display the following:
a) alphabetic letters //finished with
b) digits // finished with
c) other characters that are not alphabetic letters and not digits //finished with

The bold part above confused me, by total characters, does it mean the alphabetic letters + other characters? how would I put that in my code?

I'm writing a program that reads and counts all the printable characters (ASCII 32-126)found in a text file.
For example if the text file read: Why so serious?
The output to the screen would display(in order of ascii value however):
Character-----Total
W--------------1
h--------------1
y--------------1
s--------------3
o--------------2
etc...
However, I don't think it's reading any of the characters.

I have the codes for such a problem where, to create a program that counts how many times the second string appears on the first string. Yes it counts if you put 1 letter only, but if you put 2, it is an error. As an example. If the first string is Harry Partear, and the second string is ar, it must count as 3. Here's the code:

I want to calculate how many times the common number is repeated . So I have used freq[num] in that function. But I am getting the output like this-
Code:
The common number is = 5
The 5 repeated = 1 times
The common number is = 6
The 6 repeated = 1 times
The common number is = 4
The 4 repeated = 1 times
The common number is = 5
The 5 repeated = 1 times

So the freq[num] is only returning 1 instead of counting the total number of repeating which is wrong!! I would like to have somthing like this in my output -

I have loaded and 1d array from a .dat file, calculated the average of all the numbers. Now I need to count every number in the array that is below the average and cout that number. This is the method in the class I have so far:

My output from this is always 0 and I know that there are numbers below the avg.
