Visual C++ :: Program Creates A Large Pointer Array Of Numbers
Feb 22, 2013
I am working on a program which creates a large pointer array of numbers and then performs several iterations of operations in them.
Code:
int * u = new int[N];
double * nu = new double[N];
int * nud = new int[N];
for (int i=0;i<M;i++){
for (int i=0;i<N;i++){
u[i]=0;
nu[i]=0;
[Code]...
If M is small enough then there are no problems in the program. However once M is large enough I get the "unhanded exception":
std::bad_alloc at memory location 0x0026f728..
Since I am just reusing the same arrays, and since I am able to make it through a few iterations, I didn't think it could be a memory issue. If it is, is there a way I can clear the data completely after each iteration?

If i m writing a code for a program to solve factorials, what is the best approach if i have large numbers in mind?
If i use int, i can only go upto 4bytes and if i use double i can go upto 8bytes. so should i create new type or is there any other way to get this done.

Why this class doesn't work for Subtraction, Division and Square Root. When I try to get results for Subtraction, it output right answer, but with any trash. And When I try to get answer for Division and Square Root, it just brakes and don't output anything. For Addition and Multiplication class work correctly.

I'm programming an app that deals with large numbers. I have a do-while loop that I want to execute. I can not get it to work. The "while(d!=1)" part is the problem and I can not find a way around.
Code:
#include "stdafx.h"
#include <stdio.h>
#include <gmp.h>
#pragma comment(lib, "gmp.lib")
int main (int argc, char *argv[]) {
mpz_t d;
[Code] ....
I get errors:
1.error C2446: '!=' : no conversion from 'const int' to '__mpz_struct *'
Conversion from integral type to pointer type requires reinterpret_cast, C-style cast or function-style cast
2. '!=' : '__mpz_struct [1]' differs in levels of indirection from 'const int'

I have to write a program, that multplicates very large numbers (out of range of long int). It's said that i need to use arrays and read the numbers as strings. My problem is to end function called "mnoz:, because i don't know how to sum the multiplicated values of arrays a and b.
Code:
#include<stdio.h>
#include<math.h>
#include<stdlib.h>
#include "winbgi2.h"
#include<string.h>
#define roz 10000
char lan(char a[])

I have to make a function that can add two numbers of any size. So far I have:
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
struct number {
[Code]....
why I'm getting a segmentation fault? It's really dense because of all the conversions I had to do.

My code handles smaller numbers well enough, but I need the program to be able at least factor 100!.
#include <stdio.h>
void factorialOutput(unsigned int &n, int fac[]);
unsigned long long factorial(int n);
int main(int argc, const char * argv[]) {
unsigned int t = 0;
int n[101];

I just started learning about pointer and reference. * and &
The assignment is " Write a program that stores the following numbers in the array named miles:15,22,16,18,27,23, and 20. Have your program copy the data stored in miles to another array named dist, and then display the values in the dist array. YOur program should use pointer notation when copying and displaying array elements.
And this is what i have so far. But there is an error. I highlighted it with red. It says it's incompatible...
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
const int arraynumb = 7; // declaration of keys: number of characters of keys
void copyfunc(int *[], int); // function initialized
int main() {
int miles[arraynumb] = {15, 22, 16, 18, 27, 23, 20};
[Code] ....

112121276783621784678236478236478623784672364782367846237846782364782367846238 + 783627846782364786237846782364782367846237846782364782367846237846237864782367846238
It should be efficient and fast. It is useful to calculate the Factorial 100000, and then I calculate the number of the module.
Example:
132142344564378657834657834657863785634786578346578346785634785678653478 % 124623874

I'm having problems with progress bar when using a big number in set range. For numbers below 50000 it works very well but for big numbers like 100.000 it doesn't work, it makes 2-3 rounds of animation
Code:
int number= 50000; // 50k works well but if i put 100k it won't work (it will animate 2-3 rounds instead of complete one)
progressbar1.SetRange(0, number);
progressbar1.SetStep(1);
for (int i = 0; i < number; ++i) {
listcontrol1.InsertItem(i, _T("whatever"));
progressbar1.StepIt();
}
What's wrong with the code ?

The log file must be created if it doesn't already exist.....
Here is a code that i wnat to customize and it already opens a communication channel between server and client......
Here is my code:

Here is my issue: I am making a simple audioplayer in Xamarin.android but i want every time i change the track to make a crossfade effect. So im using 2 mediaplayers at the same time for the fade. The problem is that im defining one time the players and i pass the player as a parameter like this:
public MediaPlayer player = null;
public MediaPlayer player2 = null;
....
If i have to fadeout the player and start the next one im doing it like this:
if (player != null){
if (player.IsPlaying) {
cts = new CancellationTokenSource();
token = cts.Token;
FadeOut (player, 2000 ,token);
[Code] .....
So my problmem is that player and player2 remain always null. Why? i guess c# creates a copy of player and player2 and use this one. How i can pass a mediaplayer as parameter and always use only player and player2?

Here is my code and basically these are the steps. I feel like we have something good to work on but we keep getting errors.
a. Data to the program is input from a file of an unspecified length; that is, the program does not know in advance how many numbers are in the file.
b. Save the output of the program in a file.
c. Modify the function getNumber so that it reads a number from the input file (opened in the function main), outputs the number to the output file (opened in the function main), and sends
the number read to the function main. Print only 10 numbers per line.
d. Have the program find the sum and average of the numbers.
e. Modify the function printResult so that it outputs the final results to the output file (opened in the function main). Other than outputting the appropriate counts, this new definition of the function printResult should also output the sum and average of the numbers.

I have to write a program where the user will input integer numbers. How many numbers they enter is unknown, therefor you should use a repetition structure for the input. When the user is done, they will enter -1 to exit.
Create a dynamic array if the size=2( the initial size must be 2) Repeat until user enters -1.
I have to do this without using vectors.
This is what i have, I cannot figure out what to put in main. I was thinking of a do-while?
Code:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
void resize(int *[], int);
int main() {
int *listDyn;
int size=2;
[code].....

I am currently working out on a problem in which a c program is to be made which shows a large text file in parts.
f
For example: If file contains 200 lines. 50 lines will be shown on first page and user is asked to press any key to move to next page until EOF is found. user is allowed to return to previous page as well, and this is very complicated task for me. I tried to move cursor to a specific position using fseek etc but it page doesn't stop and reaches to end quickly.

Below is my code for a program that is suppose to generate and display six unique random numbers (between 1 and 54). The issue seems to be in my check for duplicates. I know what I am doing wrong but can't seem to find a way to fix it. I think it is getting stuck in an endless loop because the way I have written it looks like it checks the first value against itself which will of course look like a duplicate everytime.
Code:
#include<iostream>
#include<ctime>
using namespace std;
//function prototype

My problem is my edit distance values are stored in a 2d array of ints and exported to a .csv and the ones at the end are rather LARGE.
The the edit distance max should be around 2000 but i am getting values of 1-100million, the weird thing is that I have checked back through my function and tested various parts of it and still dont understand where it is going wrong i thought it could be my memcpy and memmove parts but i have had no luck.

This is in c. Write a program which asks for X numbers, and stores them in an array.
The program then asks the user to enter a number to look for, and tells the user how many times that number appears in the array of numbers (if any), and the array index which contain the number
Make an array of the indexes where the number was found, and then format your output to match my output.
Sample Run:
How many numbers would you like to enter: 5
Please enter a number:1
Please enter a number:2
Please enter a number:3
Please enter a number:4
Please enter a number:2
The numbers you enter were: 1, 2, 3, 4, 2
Please enter a number to find: 2
The number appears 2 times, at array ellements with indexes 1, 4
Press any key to continue . . .
