C# :: Passing Object As Parameter Creates A Copy Of It

Dec 17, 2014

Here is my issue: I am making a simple audioplayer in Xamarin.android but i want every time i change the track to make a crossfade effect. So im using 2 mediaplayers at the same time for the fade. The problem is that im defining one time the players and i pass the player as a parameter like this:

public MediaPlayer player = null;
public MediaPlayer player2 = null;
....

If i have to fadeout the player and start the next one im doing it like this:

if (player != null){
if (player.IsPlaying) {
cts = new CancellationTokenSource();
token = cts.Token;
FadeOut (player, 2000 ,token);

[Code] .....

So my problmem is that player and player2 remain always null. Why? i guess c# creates a copy of player and player2 and use this one. How i can pass a mediaplayer as parameter and always use only player and player2?

Visual C++ :: Program Creates A Large Pointer Array Of Numbers

Feb 22, 2013

I am working on a program which creates a large pointer array of numbers and then performs several iterations of operations in them.

Code:
int * u = new int[N];
double * nu = new double[N];
int * nud = new int[N];
for (int i=0;i<M;i++){
for (int i=0;i<N;i++){
u[i]=0;
nu[i]=0;

[Code]...

If M is small enough then there are no problems in the program. However once M is large enough I get the "unhanded exception":

std::bad_alloc at memory location 0x0026f728..

Since I am just reusing the same arrays, and since I am able to make it through a few iterations, I didn't think it could be a memory issue. If it is, is there a way I can clear the data completely after each iteration?

C :: Server-client File Transfer Using UDP

Sep 1, 2013

I have to make a server-client file transfer using UDP . I have created a basic server which receives message sent by client . That's all. Now comes the major part :-

1. The message sent by client is the name of file
.2. Now the server checks whether there exists this file or not .
3. If there exists it sends the file to the client and it also keeps the count of the number of requests of file made by the client . Here is the Server Code

Code:

#include<sys/socket.h>
#include<arpa/inet.h>
#include<stdio.h>
#include<unistd.h>
#include<fcntl.h>
#include<sys/types.h>
#include<string.h>
}

[code]...

The server reads the data from file and writes into it and send to the client , On the other end client receive the data and make duplicate of this file and write into it. But on compiling it gives error in reading the file.

// Enter passive mode and get IP & port

How to send file to the server. And I also suspect I should tell the file size to the server.

C/C++ :: Application Which Reads Input From Server And Write To A File

May 6, 2014

Currently I'm working on a application which reads the input from the server and write to a file. Message stored in server : idle_message="维杰PC时钟" key_prompt="在按键"

Server will send a xml reply with encode type as "UTF-8". In my code I'm store in a char array. [ char * ch = "idle_message="缁存澃PC鏃堕挓" key_prompt="鍦ㄦ寜閿" msg came from server and copied from vs2005 watch point] After this I'm writing the same to a file in my desk using the API WriteFile. When i open the file in Editplus below is the content.

idle_message="维杰PC时钟" key_prompt="在按键" Again I'm trying to read the file and storing into the char array. Below is the content viewed by the watchpoint in VS2005.

idle_message="缁存澃PC鏃堕挓" key_prompt="鍦ㄦ寜閿? I'm trying to find the starting and ending chinese char and I'm converting that char to wchar_t using the API mcstowcs() for display, its coming as completely junk chars.

I can able to every place the chinese char are different. how to overcome this problem.

C/C++ :: Can Client Wait To Open A File Until Server Has Made It?

Sep 30, 2014

I have a client/server program. My Client process spawns my server process using a `fork()` and `system()` call. The client and the server are meant to communicate to each other through named piped, that is a requirement of my homework. The client and the server are supposed to initially send a message to the other one, through a pipe, to confirm that a connection is made. My issue is that my client is trying to open one of the named pipes before the server has a chance to make it. This doesn't always happen though. Occasionally, it will run fine. Is there some way to synchronize this?

My overall goal is to get a filename and search target from the user, send those to the server through a named pipe. And the server searches for the target and sends info back.

OUTPUT:

Client: PID 2986 - Running on Tue Sep 30 20:59:28 2014
Client: PID 2986 - Enter File Name: largeSampleText.txt
Server PID 2988 - Running on Tue Sep 30 20:59:32 2014
Server: PID 2988 - Synchronized to Client.//This means the client-to-server fifo is working
There was an error opening serverToClientfifo//This means client couldn't open the server-to-client fifo
error is: 2//This means the fifo doesn't exist yet

[Code] ....

CORRECT OUTPUT:

Client: PID 2542 - Running on Tue Sep 30 20:58:44 2014
Client: PID 2542 - Enter File Name: largeSampleText.txt
Server PID 2557 - Running on Tue Sep 30 20:58:54 2014
Server: PID 2557 - Synchronized to Client.

[Code] ....

RELEVANT CLIENT CODE:

int main() {
char requestedFileName[1024];
//Get initial information on the client
pid_t clientPID = getpid();
time_t currentTime = time(0);
char* stringTime= ctime(¤tTime);

[Code] ....

I tried creating both of my fifos in my client and my output changed to this

Client: PID 3150 - Running on Tue Sep 30 21:23:17 2014
Client: PID 3150 - Enter File Name: largeSampleText.txt
Client: PID 3150 - Enter Target:
Server PID 3153 - Running on Tue Sep 30 21:23:21 2014
was
Client: PID 3150 - Input File >>>largeSampleText.txt<<<
Client: PID 3150 - Target >>>was<<<
Client: PID 3150 - Synchronized to Server
Server received unexpected connection message
Message: was
Terminating

So It appears like the client went ahead and put `requestedFileName` and`requestedTarget`into the pipe and the server read out `requestedTarget` instead of the connection message. Not sure why though

C++ :: Making Exe File From Source Code?

Sep 4, 2013

I use a programming language called layout which nobody here has probably ever heard of. It was discontinued over 15 years years ago but it was a very visual & easy to use piece of software - no coding required. In fact once you name all the variables on cards (forms) from then on it's just mouse clicking & occassionaly typing a number if required. It used blackboxes in a flowchart arrangement which were pre-done code for doing just about anything. i.e opening windows, handling numbers & text, files etc. I have written many programs with it including database management, quoting software & currently use it in my business to track my jobs & do invoicing & ordering. It's a pity it wasn't updated & still around today.

[URL]

Back to the problem. Being a 16 bit program it was written to run on Windows 3.1 but still works on Windows 7!! as long as it is the 32 bit version. I need to write a program that will run on 64 bit W7 without resorting to using a virtual PC solution. I have tried to find something similar that I might be able to use instead but so far nothing comes close to Layout. I just remembered today that layout can produce not only .exe programs but also various versions of C/C++ including visual c++. So I got this idea that if I could get those files I might be able to stick them into a C compiler program to re-make a "modern" exe file.

I could just do a simple sample program & send the source code to them to see if it works on a 64 bit version of Windows 7. how I can do this myself to produce a working exe file.
