Visual C++ :: Program That Reads Numbers From A File And Calculates Average

Here is my code and basically these are the steps. I feel like we have something good to work on but we keep getting errors.
a. Data to the program is input from a file of an unspecified length; that is, the program does not know in advance how many numbers are in the file.
b. Save the output of the program in a file.
c. Modify the function getNumber so that it reads a number from the input file (opened in the function main), outputs the number to the output file (opened in the function main), and sends
the number read to the function main. Print only 10 numbers per line.
d. Have the program find the sum and average of the numbers.
e. Modify the function printResult so that it outputs the final results to the output file (opened in the function main). Other than outputting the appropriate counts, this new definition of the function printResult should also output the sum and average of the numbers.

I'm trying to put what i've learned into a little program that calculates batting average.
I want to store the batting averages of the players in an array and printf the best average at the end by name for example Dennis Ritchie had best batting average at .600.
I'm having trouble understanding how and what type of array to use.

I am working on a program that calculates the average of a list of test scores entered, with the list ended with a negative score (which is not calculated), as long as a user enters a name.

I have gotten the while loop to function. The problem lies in the calculation in the average of the test scores, such as when I enter the scores 87 76 90 -1 , which is supposed to give an average of 84.3 but my result when outputted is 86. what the problem is and what I can do to fix this error?

Write a program that reads in ten whole numbers and that output the sum of all the numbers greater than zero, the sum of all the numbers less than zero (which will be a negative number or zero), and the sum of all the numbers, whether positive, negative, or zero. The user enters the ten numbers just once each and the user can enter them in any order.

I need to create a program that reads some numbers, and calculate them on a separated subroutine, and the return of this subroutine must be the sum of all the numbers. I'm getting an error but I can't figure out why =/

Write a program that a prof can use to enter the test marks of several students and which calculates the average mark of each student. Ask the user how many students he has, then ask him to enter each student's marks. When 999 is entered, calculate the average mark for that student (not counting the 999) and print the average. I've been working on a program that displays the number of digits in each line of a file, but I feel stuck. Take for example a file that contains these characters:
6347aaa9
54j
811111
6a
709
And I'm trying to display a result like this

I'm working on a program that reads in a .txt file and searches through the text for a keyword. If it gets a hit on the keyword, the line number where the keyword is located and the line that contains the keyword is printed out. What I have now doesn't catch every occurance of the keyword "a".

I am trying to write a program for class that reads from an input file the month, year & total collected. I am using notepad for the input file.
This is what the notepad file looks like

Why does it give me random numbers in the output rather than what the notepad has?
Also, the outfile is completely blank.

Write a program that calculates the average of a stream of positive numbers. The user can enter as many positive numbers as they want, and they will indicate that they are finished by entering a negative number. For this program, treat zero as a positive number, i.e., zero counts as a number that goes into the average. Of course, the negative number should not be part of the average. You must use a function to read in the numbers, keep track of the running sum and count, compute the average, and return the average to the main() function. Note that you must use a loop to do this, as you don't know how many numbers the user will enter ahead of time. I am having problem writing a loop program for it..

I am trying to average the negative numbers and positive number and of course the total average.
This will read in a list of n values, where n is not known ahead of time. The number of values read into the array will be saved in n.

array is a one-dimensional array of integers and n is the number of elements in that array that contain valid data values. Both of these are input parameters to the function. The function must calculate 1) the average of the n integers in array, storing the result in ave; 2) the average of the positive numbers (> 0), storing the result in avePos, and 3) the average of the negative numbers (< 0), storing the result in aveNeg.

I am trying to make a simple login program that reads username and password from a text file.
In my text file I have:
name1;pass1
name2;pass2
name3;pass3
name4;pass4
name5;pass5
Everything is working okay with name1 and pass1, but if I try to log in with different credentials, for example name2 and pass2 it says "invalid details"

I have written two separate programs; Program 1 calculates the average of an array of numbers which has been hard-coded into the program. Program 2 reads an array of numbers from a text file and displays them on the output.
I wish to combine these two programs into one by making Program 1 read the array of numbers from the file and then calculate the average using that instead of the array { 84, 92, 76, 81, 56 } as outlined below. I only wish to display the average in the output, not the number array as Program 2 does.
I have tried to do most of the work, I just need modifying the code slightly so it reads the number array from the file and calculates the average.

I seem to be missing a concept or 2 here ... I am tasked with writing a program that reads text from a file and outputs each line to the screen as well as to another file PRECEDED by a line number ...
In addition, I have to Print the line number at the start of the line and right-adjusted in a field of 3 spaces ...
Follow the line number with a colon then 1 space, then the text of the line.
Another kicker, is I have to grab the data 1 character at a time and write code to ignore leading blanks on each line.

I am trying to create a program that calculates fraction of time remaining when a student leaves during the middle of the semester. I have to use function files here. I am having trouble with the division in function long double tuitionfrac(int, int, int). No matter what numbers are entered, fractime gives an output of 0. I don't understand that.

Trying to write a program that calculates a students grade based on how many assignments have been graded.
