C :: Print Values Of Array From Function By Passing Array?

I wanted to print the values of a array from a function by passing the array as well as the number of elements to be read. For a single dimensional array, this is how i have written it. It's pretty straight forward. I want to read 5 elements from the 5th element in the array.

With this code I want to print the five elements from the element present in [0][4].

But shows an error that

I know when you pass a array as an argument it gets decomposed into a pointer, but with a multi-dimensional array this is not the case. how this works for mult- dimensional array's?

This seems simple enough but I'm missing something here to make this code work.What I'm trying to do is print the contents of the two dimensional array in 25 rows and 4 columns. I experimented with something similar to this code when I initialized the array with numbers.

I'm getting garbage. I tried including the name of the array in the cin object but I got an error message that says "no match for operator '>>'. When I take the name of the array out, the program compiles but I get garbage. Program is suppose to reads data from a file of 25 students and calculates test scores and class grade average output each student's name score, letter grade and grade average. I would be happy at this point if I could just print out something that wasn't garbage.

I'm wondering if it is possible to pass a 2d array to a function where the size of the array is not known at runtime.

I've tried

function ( array[][6] ) ;

But the size of the array has to be constant so it cannot be declared later.

I've tried using a template but you still have to declare the size of the array at runtime. Is this even possible at all?

The only other way I can think of is using a dynamic 2d array but how to create one and manipulate it.

I'm trying to pass these numbers into the array using the for loop: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I created two files in my project called "inStuff.txt" and "OUTPUTS.txt". I know I have an error at my input in the for loop, which is a bit similar to my problem or something? I'm also on linux using a crossGCC complier(not sure if that makes a difference).

C++ :: Values Are Changing When Passing Arrays And Array Sizes?

I'm working on a homework assignment that asks me to roll two die a user given number of times, find the roll sums, and a few other things. I'm working on it one module at a time and I'm running into two big problems so far.

The first problem is that my int variable rolls changes to a number within the random number generator range of numbers after I run rolldie. I got around this by making a const equal to the user entered value of rolls just so that I could continue developing the program.

My second problem is that the values of the arrays resultsOne[] and resultsTwo[] are changed after running findsum(). Why this is happening and I even tried passing them as const, but that changed nothing. We just started learning about passing arrays to functions, so there might be something big that I'm missing.

complexity restriction: should be linear.cant use advance data structure like lists or hashmaps, only arrays. structs are not allowed.

my idea: to build counter array of buckets of size 101, and count each value.then i need to sort the counter array(its still linear), but how i can keep track that the value of 80 appeared 3 time?I mean i need to sort the values of the counter with the indexes as well.

I am trying to pass a dynamic array to a function which will:

- Copy the contents of the array to a temporary dynamic array
- Change the array passed in to one size bigger
- Copy the elements from the temp array back into the newly changed array
- Insert an item into the last spot of the array

Here is my code:

In the below program, When the getline function is called, it passes a char array of size 1000 by VALUE. It must have passed by value because there is no pointer or reference in the argument list of the getline function definition. And if that's the case, when exiting the getline function, isn't the s[] char array destroyed? And if it is destroyed, then when we reference line in the copy function, what are we actually copying?
