May 13, 2015I have a CMFCToolbar containing a CMFCComboBoxButton which needs to be updated via a view. The view correctly updates the selection of the ComboBoxButton however the edit window is not updated until the control receives the focus or the entire window is redrawn.

C++ :: Access Variable Updated In One To Another CPP File?
Dec 18, 2012I have two cpp files.I m updating a value of an integer in one cpp file and i want to perform a specific function in the second file as per to the value updated in the first file. ie I m initialing the variable in the constructor. I have two buttons in the first cpp file. On clicking the first button I m updating the variable as 1 and on pressing button two , I m updating the variable as 2. I m retrieving this variable in the second cpp file with respect to the object created for the class in the first cpp file.
The problem is that i m not able tot retrieve the updated value in the second file. only the initialized value is being retrieved. neither 1 nor 2 is updated.

Aug 1, 2014I'm making a program to draw a trajectory, was using as a basis the tangent, but when I put 90 degrees, the tangent is very large, so I thought of putting an if (angle == 90) did not use the tangent.
the design is right, but after choosing it 90 degrees it stops to draw.
for example
1-30 degrees - draws
2-45 degrees ---- draws
3 draws -90 degrees ---
4-60 degrees --- not drawing
5 --- 80 degrees --- not drawing

Mar 14, 2013I have an MDI application using different menus depending on the current document template in use.
I need to show the top-level File Menu from the IDR_MAINFRAME window when a command is sent from the active document.
I would like to application to deactivate the active child window and then show the File menu as if the alt-F key was pressed from the keyboard.
I have tried CMenu *pMenu=AfxGetMainWnd()->GetMenu();
but this does not display the menu at all.

Jan 1, 2014I am currently working out on a problem in which a c program is to be made which shows a large text file in parts.

For example: If file contains 200 lines. 50 lines will be shown on first page and user is asked to press any key to move to next page until EOF is found. user is allowed to return to previous page as well, and this is very complicated task for me. I tried to move cursor to a specific position using fseek etc but it page doesn't stop and reaches to end quickly.

Apr 7, 2015I've been taking a C++ class, and for a project we need to do, we have to create a simple quiz show game while putting the high scores and names inside a .txt file. We have lessons we can look at to complete it while learning. But at the end there's always a challenge that we should complete to show that we've actually learned the information. For the challenge, we needed to take the information in the .txt file and reset it to its original information. So say there's 5 people preset that have high scores, then a person plays the game and the program asks if they'd like to reset the list. If the user inputted 'y' or any key that needed to be pressed, the program would reset the .txt to its original information.

It works how I need it to and there aren't any problems, necessarily, but I want to know if there's any, more efficient, ways of completing this task. Like if there's any already made function of resetting a file.
This is the code that resets the file. As you can see, it just uses the information earlier in the code inside the if statement. Is there any pre-made function or method of resetting a file?

I'm trying to make it so that if a new string comes, it saves it into wlist[], and counts 1 to wcount[]. If the same word is there, it will just add 1 to wcount[]. The program will end when it gets to the end of a file.
I don't know the reason, but I can't get strcmp and strcpy to work. I had to put a pointer in curword, just to make it compile.

Mar 18, 2013Write a program that asks the user to enter the number of calories and fat grams in a food item. The program should display the percentage of the calories that come from fat. One gram of fat has 9 calories, so:
(Calories from fat) = (fat grams) * 9
The percentage of calories from fat can be calculated as:
(Calories from fat) / (total calories)
Extend as follow
1. The user first enters from a menu whether it is breakfast (B or b), lunch (L or l) or dinner (D or d). Use character and process by a switch.
2. The threshold for low calorie is different, for breakfast 10%, lunch 20%, dinner 30% (this value has to be assigned to some threshold variable in the above switch).
3. Include validation of menu choice.
4. In case any validation fails, display detailed error and exit the program by calling return 1 or return EXIT_FAILURE
5. Display the % from fat with one decimal digit.
Example 1:
What you have to eat:
B - breakfast
L - lunch
D - dinner
What you have: C
Error: C is not a valid menu choice
Example 2:
What you have to eat:
B - breakfast
L - lunch

How many calories: 600

Process the menu in a switch, setting the threshold as either 10, 20, or 30%. The rest of the program will be the same regardless what was the menu choice.
