Code:

int i,i2;
for( i = 0; i <= ROWS; i++)

Let's say I have a list of words that are followed by a number.
Word 1
Word 2
Word 3
Word 4
I need two arrays. One for the words and one for the numbers.
Code:
string STORE_ARRAY[100];// stores string (word)
string operation[STORE_ARRAY];
int PARA_ARRAY[50];//stores parameter (#)
int parameter[PARA_ARRRAY];
For the file input, I'm using this:
Code:
in.is_open()){
string line;
while(getstring filename;
cin>>filename;
vector<string> file_input;
[Code] ....
So first it gets saved in file_input, but then it needs to split it and move it into the appropriate array.

Dont know how to replace each letter as s number ... this is the question i was given ...
In cryptarithmetic puzzles, mathematical equations are written using letters. Each letter can be a digit from 0 to 9, but no two letters can be the same. Here is a sample problem:
SEND + MORE = MONEY
A solution to the puzzle is S = 9, R = 8, O = 0, M = 1, Y = 2, E = 5, N = 6, D = 7.
Write a program that finds a solution to the cryptarithmetic puzzle of the following:
TOO + TOO + TOO + TOO = GOOD
The simplest technique is to use a nested loop for each unique letter (in this case T, O, G, D). The loops would systematically assign the digits from 0 to 9 to each letter. For example, it might first try T=0,O=0,G=0,D=0, thenT=0,O=0, G = 0, D = 1, then T = 0, O = 0, G = 0, D = 2, etc., up to T = 9, O = 9, G = 9, D = 9. In the loop body, test that each variable is unique and that the equation is satisfied. Output the values for the letters that satisfy the equation.

I've been trying to figure out how to implement a way to save this board state throughout a user's inputted path. At the end, I need the output to print out the board states (user's path) of how he or she got the puzzle solved. This puzzle is the 15 Puzzle; but we have it to change by the user's input on what size they want to play (3x3 to 5x5). How to save the board state of each user input, then print those out in order from beginning to solved puzzle state. Subsequently, I would also need transferring the board state to change with using a vector to store the size based on user input. How to proceed, using a first search to solve the puzzle from the current board's state.
calculations.h
Code:
/*Calculations set as a header to keep compiling simple and faster*/
#ifndef calculations
#define calculations
int solved[5][5];
void initialize(int board[][5], int);
void slide(int board[][5],int move,int);
bool isBoardSolved(int board[][5],int);
[Code] .....

#include <stdlib.h>

I'm completely new to pointers and have a homework assignment due where I'm supposed to create a user defined dynamic array for player scores. The only errors I'm experiencing is a C2109: subscript requires pointer type and only on the lines that use the int *score; variable (57, 62, 64, 69, 71, and 82). I've already tried adding = nullptr to the variable and that didn't work.

void average(int[], int);

whenever I try to use either <string> or any STL container. Everyone I saw so far, says that "using a .reserve(n)" before adding items to random positions is enough. However, each time I run the code, I still get the same error, unless I actually write the memory with some initial data, and only after access random positions.I am fully aware of the fact that the STL containers and <string> are dynamic data types and memory allocation is done dynamically. However, if I need to allocate all those memory slots before knowing how many I need, would lead me to the same memory complexity as using a char [] array (which is static -- size declaration at first).
how is it possible to keep the <string> dynamic, while being able to add elements on random positions (if possible). I know the strings have the ending char '', but there should still be something that would allow it to work. Okay, long story short, here is my example. I am trying to read from file rows of data. The first char on each row represents a normal char c. The rest of the row is a string which contains numbers (integers between 1 and 250) which represent the position at which the char c (read before) will have its location.
For example the input file:
#include <fstream>
#include <deque> // for later use
#include <string>
#include <sstream>
#include <algorithm> // for later use
[code].....
The program works perfectly, if instead of text.reserve(250); I use text.resize(250);. However, what is the difference between the two? I mean, why isn't reserve enough?

To get a value I would always use setter and getter. Would it be much better (performance) to use vector subscript operator overloading? And does vector subscription operator overloading require a size for the vector?
vector<int> v(10);
because otherwise, it doesn't work...

I will try my best to describe this problem I am having because I am not sure if I can reproduce the error in a small code example as this is part of a large code project.
I have a plain std::vector which contains pointers to objects.
When attempting to delete the objects, even if I know for a fact that the std::vector has at least one object in it as shown by the debugger, I get the "Vector Subscript Out of Range" error.
I'll even do a range for loop like so:
for (auto & e : CurrentObjects) {
delete e;
}
And yet I still get the "Vector Subscript Out of Range" error. The destructor is never called for the object represented by "e" so I am not sure why I get the error.
