C++ :: Creating A Custom Filetype?

May 21, 2013

I am making a level editor that needs to output a custom map file for use with source code that I will write for a graphics library.

My question is: What do I need to bear in mind when deciding how to structure a custom file type? Also how can I encode a standard bitmap image into my file (the tile set) so that it can all be contained in a single file rather two files; the map file and tile set (.bmp file).

C# :: Creating Custom If Statement Classes?

Jun 19, 2014

I've been working on a project for a few days now, and within this project I need to have a class system that can function similarly to an if statement. The problem I'm having is I can't seem to find any good information on the order in which if statements process the information within it. I understand that if statements process whatever's in parenthesis first, but my question is that when their are several booleans of equal value, for example: "if(x == 1 && y == 2 || 3 == 4 && 4==6)", in what order does it process these true or false statements? (The actual content of the example is superfluous).

C++ :: Creating Custom Templated Doubly Linked List

Feb 20, 2013

I need to create a templated doubly linked list, with an iterator class within the list class. This program is to function just like the STL list class but I only need to implement functions that I am using, My trouble is I am kind of clueless on the iterator part and the fact that the list is templated is giving me syntax grief. I have pasted the code I have done so far.

1. On the syntax implementing the list and iterator functions outside of the class
2. I am not sure when to deference the iterator in the functions, but think I have it right so far
3. For the reverse function can I copy the list into a new list in reverse then re add them to the original list overwriting the same values? I have the code I have so far there
4. For the iterator erase function, I am not sure if I am deleting the node correctly.
5. I am not sure if I need template <typename T> above the iterator functions. Does the iterator class need to be a template? Right now it is not.

// Templated doubly linked list class

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
template <typename T>
class list {
private:
Node *head;
Node *tail;

C++ :: IsDialogMessage - Cursor Not Blinking

Mar 7, 2014

I have created a simple WIN32 application. I inserted the function "IsDialogMessage" in the while-loop to make the tabstop key change the textfield. But when I insert the IsDialogMessage-function, the cursor won't blink anymore (it stays static). Is there a way to combine the two (tabstop key = change text field AND blinking cursor)?

Here's my while-loop:

MSG Msg;
while(GetMessage(&Msg, NULL, 0, 0) > 0) {
IsDialogMessage(window,&Msg);
TranslateMessage(&Msg);
DispatchMessage(&Msg);
}

And here I am creating the textfields:

hwnd = CreateWindowExA(NULL, "EDIT", NULL, //no title
WS_CHILD|WS_VISIBLE|WS_BORDER|ES_AUTOHSCROLL|WS_TABSTOP ,
xPos,yPos,width,height,
cWindow->window,(HMENU)502,
(HINSTANCE) GetWindowLong(cWindow->window, GWL_HINSTANCE),NULL);

C++ ::  SendInput - Cursor Position Wrong

May 12, 2013

I recently wanted to create a (yet) simple program that simulates a mouse movement.So far I managed to make the program work. It does move the mouse, click when expected but the problem is the location it does click at.Here's my code:

#include <Windows.h>
#include <stdio.h>
int leftclick (DWORD x, DWORD y);
int main(){

[code]......

The problem now is: I want the program (for testing purposes) to click at (1920, 1080) and (100, 100) afterwards. Now it does click within a specific range. When I use GetCursorPos to retreive the cursors position it differs quite a bit from where I expected the click to be.

a second question I have is: When I declare the following flag (in the code above) the program does use relative coordinates even though it shouldn't.

input.mi.dwFlags = MOUSEEVENTF_ABSOLUTE | MOUSEEVENTF_LEFTDOWN | MOUSEEVENTF_LEFTUP;

Where as it works out well when I add a MOUSEEVENTF_MOVE to it.I couldn't find any solution to this in Microsoft MSDN or any other website.

I want to get the picture contol's mouse move position & using this point (x,y) i will get the particular color ref value R, G, & B.

My picture control size is 256 * 256 & I was loaded an image 512 * 512.

Using scroll bar, I was view the image but can't get the particular pixel in the picture control.

The below code get the Dialog's mouse move cursor position & RGB Values only.

Code:
void CMyDlg::OnMouseMove(UINT nFlags, CPoint point) {
int R,G,B;
COLORREF ref;
ref = m_dcMem.GetPixel(point.x,point.y);
R = GetRValue(ref);
G = GetGValue(ref);
B = GetBValue(ref);
CButton::OnMouseMove(nFlags, point);

How can i get the picture contol position even use the scroll bar.

C++ :: Using STL Sort With Custom Classes?

Oct 8, 2013

I've written a doubly linked list per my assignment instructions. I've implemented begin() and end() iterators for it, and they work with no problems when traversing the list. However, I need to sort the elements in the list. We are allowed to use the sort function defined in the <algorithm> header since we haven't yet covered sorting algorithms.

But, I'm running into a ton of problems. I figured as long as the begin() and end() iterators were defined for the list, then sort(list.begin(), list.end(), compare) would do the trick. The main errors I'm getting are:

error: no type named iterator_category
error: no type named value_type
error: no type named difference_type
error: no type named pointer
error: no type named reference

And also errors for no match of the + and - operators for the iterator class.

I understand reference, pointer, and value_type, but I have no idea about iterator_category and difference_type. Additionally, I'm a little unsure why the + and - operators need to be overloaded.

C# :: Custom Button Shape (WPF)

Nov 30, 2014

I have begun switching from WinForms to WPF and I'm having a hard time understanding the new concepts. In WinForms, I had a few User Controls, custom drawn using shapes (rectangles, ellipses, etc). They had some unique properties, like "Flashing" (setting this property to True and setting the "Flash Interval" property to 500 would have resulted in the control changing its background color to white and back again, every 0.5 seconds), "Beeping", etc.

I have tried to replicate these controls in WPF/XAML and so far managed to draw the shape. However, when it came to implementing a custom property that would redraw the background color of the rectangle every interval set by user in another property, i got stuck. The property is being set, but it doesn't change the background color. Alternatively, i have tried this method, with the same results (i got it to show in the "Properties" window in Visual Studio, i can set it, it is being stored in XAML, but it doesn't affect the background.

C# code behind:
public struct LCARSColors
{
public static Brush DarkBlue = (Brush)(new BrushConverter().ConvertFrom("#FF3366CC"));
public static Brush LightBlue = (Brush)(new BrushConverter().ConvertFrom("#FF99CCFF"));
public static Brush Pink = (Brush)(new BrushConverter().ConvertFrom("#FFCC99CC"));

[Code] ....

If i use this line (commented in this code sample):

<!--<SolidColorBrush x:Name="MySolidColorBrush" Color="{DynamicResource DarkBlue}" />-->

The background is colored in DarkBlue (as defined). But if i use this line:

<SolidColorBrush x:Name="MySolidColorBrush" Color="{Binding BackgroundColor, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged, Mode=TwoWay}" />

Nothing happens, the rectangle disappears entirely. If i add this to the above line:

FallbackValue=LightYellow

The rectangle is colored in LightYellow, meaning that the property is not accepted and the fallback value is used. Why?
