C/C++ :: If Statement To Check Matching Word To Pointer Address Value

I'm having an issue coming up with an if() statement to check if a word match the one in the value of a pointer's address. So far the best I've come up with only matches the first letter of the words, you'll find it in the code below.

Now I have to write a code which would determine whether an Email address is valid or not.

In my exercise a valid address should look like this : ___@___.___.il (___ for any letters)

E.g. Valid address:

something @ something . something . il Invalid: tami @ jce . ac . uk

(without spaces of course)

I need to create a if else statement to check multiple model numbers (200+)... How can i build this? I basically want the user to enter their model number and if its on the list they get a approved or denied message.

So far I have this, the "if(model == 9002||1002)" doesnt seem right, it needs to basically check 200+ model numbers... am I even on the right track?

C++ :: Spell Checker - Check If Inputted Word Is In Dictionary File On Computer

Over the last few days, I've been trying to implement a spell checker in c++ that checks if the inputted word is in the dictionary file on my computer. However, as I'm nearing completion of the project, I keep running into more and more errors, some of which I do not understand. My program is complete, albeit, with some minor bad practices (I hard coded a few things just to get the program up and running.For some reason, everything works well until I output spelling suggestions. I type in "mses" (attempting to spell mess) and it returns some strange characters. It does definitely recognize that there are two permutations that match words in the dictionary (however they are both mess due to the algorithm implemented), and I don't understand why? I will work on removing the duplicates after.

I've got a problem with a piece of code that it doesn't seem to work anymore.

I chose a to be 5 and it displays the following:

"Type a value for a:
5
5 in octal is: 5
5 in hexadecimal is: 5

Process returned 23 <0x17> execution time : 1.031 s".I first saw this when trying to display the address of a pointer. Am i missing something? I used to run this code on dev-c++ successfully but after a day or so of practice, it's not working anymore. I switched from dev-c++ to code blocks.

I have the following code.

StackElement *StackElementArray;
StackElementArray = new StackElement[iMaximumDepth];

I want to assign one element of this array StackElementArray the address of another object. For example,

StackElementArray[0] = iStackElement;
}

The StackElement class contains pointers to some dynamic arrays. When I use the assignment, StackElementArray[0] = iStackElement;, it doesn't copy the complete contents and I have to define an 'assignment operator' function to copy all the contents. I am wondering if there is a way I can assign StackElementArray[0] the pointer to the StackElement object. In that case, I will not need to copy the contents of iStackElement into StackElementArray[0] and will just copy the address.

C :: Pointer Jumping Over Address In Uneven Array

Why my pointer skips over the colour addresses, it jumps to the next size address when I use Pointer++. I have tried changing the the char array to 4 bytes instead of 32 and whatnot but it doesn't work.

If I set the Pointer = the first colour address, it skips over the size addresses and only get the colour addresses. I know using 2 arrays would easily solve everything, but sadly I must use only 1.

I need to initialize a pointer variable with a knowing address. See code below, ptr is the final destination and value of ptr_address contains the address value, so I need to do something like ptr = *ptr_address.

Code:

ptr = *ptr_address;

The problem is that compiler gives the following warning message:

warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast [enabled by default]

Is my code wrong or there is any other way to do it without receiving this compiler warning?

I have an integer pointer and i want its address without allocating memory,

This is giving 00000000 and its but obvious. Now if i use address of a (&a) along with *a,

cout<<&a;
}

'cout<<a' gives me a constant address but 'cout<<&a' gives me different address.

what is the reason behind & and why behaviour of 'cout<<a' changes when using with &.

lets say I have a pointer p_unit of type c_unit* (c_unit is an a.b.c.)

I have a function that returns a pointer to a new c_unit object:

unsigned short int local_run_code;

local_run_code = get_a_run_code(); // this bit just gets user input
switch (local_run_code)

I assign that to p_unit, then add it to a vector v_units:

p_unit = man_add_unit();
v_units.push_back(p_unit);
cout << "New unit added.
";

The whole program runs on a loop, and another thing the user can do is to print out data on c_unit objects pointed to by v_units. The problem is, in that function up there ^ I give the user the option to go back to main menu without creating a unit.

Since "local_p_unit" is declared but not assigned an initial value, I'm guessing the function would return a "null" pointer (which is what's hanging me up). If I just let this run with the above code, and go to print out the unit data, the program crashes.

I tried to make an if thing with p_unit == 0 but this always returns false and doesn't catch the "bad" unit that will subsequently cause a crash.

Btw, I have considered assigning a reference to a generic c_unit object to that there local_p_unit so it won't return null, then remove pointers to that object from v_units at the end of the loop.. But I know there's got to be a better way.

Basically I have a text file called words. I'm supposed to extract a word randomly form the file and have the user guess the word. If they guess the word correctly in x number of tries they will receive the definition.

I'm having trouble receiving that random word and I'm getting the definitions from the file.
