Visual C++ :: How To Retrieve Window Proc In Process Running In Other User
Apr 25, 2014
I am encountering a problem on retrieving the Window Proc of a window that running in a process with another user.
For example, I have logon windows with domainuser1, and run the following command as:
runas /profile /env /user:domainuser2 C:WindowsSystem32calc.exe
And then the Calculator is shown in domainuser1 desktop, but the process is running in domainuser2 account.
When running Spy++ (either wither domainuser1 or domainuser2) to view the calculator window, the Windoe Proc field is shown 'Unavailable' I also try to call GetWindowLong against this window, it will always returns NULL.
I am just wondering if it is possible to retrieve the Window Proc of the window running in a process of another account, is is possible?

How can I check if window media player is running in full screen mode & topmost in c++ MFC?
What I used is this logic:
I compared media player full screen coordinates to that of monitor coordinates.If they are same implies media player is in fullscreen.But it has one flaw.Whenever there are control(for play,pause) displayed in full screen in media player, coordinates are not coming same as that of monitor.

I am stuck on an exercise where i am supposed to use a loop to take user input and keep a running sum until the user enters a 0. the code i have so far is:
#include <iostream>
int main() {
using namespace std;
int num;
int total = 0;
int x;
[Code] ....
The full text of the error message is: error c2678:binary'>>':no operator found which takes a left-hand operand of type 'std::istream' . and one more thing i was wondering, is there a difference between c++ and visual c++?

I have created an scientific calculator application and I have a VBS script that runs some of the files. I want to create a C program that runs that VBS script. however, a command window flashes before the application opens. So basically I need a short C (or C++) program that runs a VBS script without a command window popping up. I am on Windows 8 and my compiler is GCC/G++ under cygwin. Here is what I have now that DOES NOT work.
Code:
#include <windows.h>
int main()
{
ShellExecute( NULL, NULL, "StartUp.vbs", NULL, NULL, SW_HIDE);
return 0;
}

I need to do an equivalent of kill -11 <pid>(which is in unix) in windows.
I need to crash a process with SEGV so that it would dump core in windows. Is there any tool by which we can do this . Also is there any sample code through which we can achieve this .
In windows we have taskill which only terminates a process , but is unable to send a signal like SEGV to the process upon which it would terminate and dump core .

This program is meant as practice. However, it is not working as intended. The for loop is meant to take the argument from the user and use it as the amount of times to loop. Instead it simply outputting: . It is supposed to output i++ but does not.
Here is the code:
main.cpp:
#include <iostream>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main(int main, char* arg[], char* arg2[]) {
int iterator = atoi(arg2[0]);
std::string z = "-c";

I used to retrieve IP and NIC information by querying windows registry. Now I'm trying to use GetAdapterAddresses() API. Using GetAdapterAddresses() to get IP is not that easy, I need to dig a long deep as I check some examples so far, anyways my question is: Calling this API will return success on all versions of Windows ie: 32bits & 64bits ?
Though Microsoft has not opened any source, where this API is actually retrieving Windows IP information.?. Is it reading Registry or some windows file.

I am maintaining a legacy VC++ 6 project.
When I use SHBrowseForFolder I can retrieve a PIDL of the selected folder and with this PIDL I can get the path with SHGetPathFromIDList.
Now, given a path to a folder, I want to retrieve its PIDL. How can I do it? I tried SHParseDisplayName() but seems that function is unsupported in VC++ 6.0

The documentation states that "An image list is a collection of same-sized images" [URL].....
But how do I retrieve that size? I have a pointer to an empty image list. The size was set during creation, but that's out of my control.

I am wondering what the best way would be for me to pass a piece of data between all of my different windows and user controls in my program.
Would i have to pass it separately between them e.g. add a piece of code into the button click event that will open the new window.
Or is there a way i can make it so that it is declared in the first window and then is accessible by all other windows and user controls.
Note: this is using WPF.

I have followed the tutorial here - [URL] .....
This is a tutorial that I have gone through completely with success, but now I am trying to create a different project using the same sort of setup.
When I add my usercontrol to the MainWindow it has none of the buttons/TextBlocks on which I have put on the UserControls - It is just a blank box. What could be causing this?
I have changed the name of the project to [snip] because it has a company name in it...
"NumericControl.xaml"
<UserControl x:Class="[snip].UserControl.View.NumericControl"
xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml/presentation"
xmlns:x="http://schemas.microsoft.com/winfx/2006/xaml"

I have used the following code to attempt to place a binary array into and then retrieve from the Registry. I am a member of the local Administrator group. I have verified that the Registry for the app has a binary array 32 bytes in length under the key "settings" / "keyb" ab 12 cd ...
Code:
// in header
unsigned char m_key[32];
int m_nKeySize;
// in implementation
// int ctor
AfxGetApp()->GetProfileBinary(_T("settings"), _T("keyb"), (LPBYTE*)&m_key, (UINT*)&m_nKeySize);
// in OnDestroy
AfxGetApp()->WriteProfileBinary(_T("settings"), _T("keyb"), (LPBYTE)&m_key, m_nKeySize );
Here is a copy of the binary array in the Registry:
7D DE 2B 30 E7 06 12 AC 99 60 8C 26 21 FC 8E 5B 66 DB 72 9E A2 00 BE 15 E1 8B 67 31 E5 EC 8B 15
Here is the binary key retrieved from the Registry using the code above:

i created a windows service that will run another program. but the program i want to run has a gui and i don't want the gui to be visible, i just want the program to run in the background.
But i have to do it without editing the gui program
here's my code:
Code:
TCHAR* path = L"C:Myfile est.exe";
STARTUPINFO info = {0};
PROCESS_INFORMATION processInfo;
ZeroMemory( &info, sizeof(info) );
info.cb = sizeof(info);
[code]....
i tested this code with notepad and it runs notepad in the background without displaying the window but when i try run my program it doesn't work. i don't know why its works for one program and not the other..

I want program to make bitmap from my Window. I also want to do add some additional steps which I will try to add later. But now I want to ask you how to fix the code. For some reason when I debug the code (break on line 73 of capture.cpp) there the pointer pBitmap is 0x00000000 . So how to correct the code to successfully capture Window? Here I give the complete codes:
stdafx.h
Code:
#pragma once
#include "targetver.h"
#include <stdio.h>
[Code].....
Feel free to set correct name of Window on line 17 for FindWindow() function.
PS: The code is remake of script to capture screen, which saved the bitmap to file. This is not what I want because I would be content if I could send (or maybe share!) the bitmap to ahk script which will ask my C++ program for the bitmap.

For my project I need to check whether my application instance is already running or not. I got the following code from Net ..
Code :
HANDLE mutex;
mutex = CreateMutex( NULL, TRUE, _T("MYAPPNAME"));
if ( GetLastError() == ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS ) {
// There's another instance running. What do you do?
AfxMessageBox(_T("Application Already Exists"));
PostQuitMessage(0);
ExitThread(0);
return;
}
The code works fine .. but the code even works fine , even if I pass any string as a parameter to CreateMutex. E.g.
mutex = CreateMutex( NULL, TRUE, _T("QQQQ"));
How it is working fine ?

I had created a global hook by SetWindowsHookEx with WH_CALLWNDPROC. It is used to create a new toolbar button in specific window in the specific (3rd party) program (named HOOKEE.exe for example), and it works perfectly fine most of the time. Normally HOOKEE.exe is launched by double clicking the shortcut icon on desktop. But this program could be also launched in another way (provided by the provider of HOOKEE.exe), with this new way, HOOKEE.exe is by conhost.exe (on Windows 7), and then I could see (via ProcessMonitor) my hook is loaded by conhost.exe, but not the process HOOKEE.exe. In my understanding global hook would be loaded by whatever process, I have no idea on the exception, and what conhost.exe does to the HOOKEE.exe.

I have a ULONGLONG variable uDate which express the number of dates starting from 0001-01-01, up to 9999-12-31. Now I want to convert it into a string like this
"yyyy-mm-dd"
However, the COleDateTime can only express the date from 100 to 9999, smaller than what I need. So are there any third-party classes or libraries that can express this. Or make the conversion from uDate to CString?

I have a problem with creating a process and waiting until the main window of the new process was shown. I thought I can wait for it with
WaitForInputIdle(pi.hp,INFINITE);
But when the function returns, the handle of the main window of the new process is not available. If I include also a ::Sleep(), the new window is available. Sleep is a bad solution. How can I do it?
