Visual C++ :: How To Retrieve Window Proc In Process Running In Other User

Apr 25, 2014

I am encountering a problem on retrieving the Window Proc of a window that running in a process with another user.

For example, I have logon windows with domainuser1, and run the following command as:

runas /profile /env /user:domainuser2 C:WindowsSystem32calc.exe

And then the Calculator is shown in domainuser1 desktop, but the process is running in domainuser2 account.

When running Spy++ (either wither domainuser1 or domainuser2) to view the calculator window, the Windoe Proc field is shown 'Unavailable' I also try to call GetWindowLong against this window, it will always returns NULL.

I am just wondering if it is possible to retrieve the Window Proc of the window running in a process of another account, is is possible?

C# :: Displaying Progress Bar While Other Parallel Function Running

May 19, 2014

I have a module that pings the network to find available devices using threading.

the money line:

var valids = range.AsParallel().AsOrdered().Where(ip => ip.Ping()).ToList();

The problem is, I need to display a progress bar while this function runs. I have the progress bar implemented with a background worker, but it won't update while the ping module is executing. I *think* it's because I'm using the available threads for the ping module.

When the user clicks a button, I need the ping module to run while the progress bar updates, or even just set IsIndeterminite to true. What would be the best way to accomplish this?

C/C++ :: Send Signal SEGV To Crash A Running Process In Windows To Dump Core

Jul 2, 2014

I need to do an equivalent of kill -11 <pid>(which is in unix) in windows.

I need to crash a process with SEGV so that it would dump core in windows. Is there any tool by which we can do this . Also is there any sample code through which we can achieve this .

In windows we have taskill which only terminates a process , but is unable to send a signal like SEGV to the process upon which it would terminate and dump core .

C++ :: Inheritance Slows Down Process

Sep 5, 2013

i have read that inheritance slows down the process.because a_class -> b_class -> c_class it goes thorough many classes to find a function or a value. people advices not to do it more than a few times. what if instead of inheritance we are using headers, would it slow down the process also??i mean which one is faster? and arent both the same when we use headers or used inheritance.

C/C++ :: Why Won't Functions Process New Values

Nov 5, 2014

I was given an assignment where I have to input two points (four integers) on a Cartesian plane from a file and then process it using functions. My professor is very particular so the comments are a bit excessive, but here's what I have.

double radiusFn(double, double, double, double);//4 double values, one for each point. All points are needed for the calculation of distance in this function.
double diameterFn(double);//Only uses one double value - the radius. Both functions below use the same value.
double circumferenceFn(double);
double areaFn(double);
int main() {

The file reads:

C++ :: Using MPI To Execute A Process In Parallel

Feb 14, 2012

I'm wondering whether it's possible to implement MPI to execute a process in parallel from deep within a C++ solution.

I've created a solution on VS2005 that links to several static libraries, and within one of these libraries there is a set series of tasks that require execution many times - they're independent so I'd like them to execute them using MPI if possible to speed up the run time.

The pseudo-code is:

Code:
for(i = 0; i < n; i++) // n is number of times to execute process {
PerformTask(data[i]); // perform the tasks required for each iteration of process
}

So, instead of conducting the tasks within PerformTask() in series n times, I want to split the array data between multiple processes such that they can each be allocated an even proportion of data to perform the tasks on. Pretty textbook reason for wanting MPI, right?

Now, I've read up and understood the basics of MPI implementation, but all the examples I've seen are called within the main() function of the program. But I need to do all this from within a static library, is this possible?

I've made some early attempts at implementing this, but get an error indicating the process wasn't initialised: "Error encounted before initializing MPICH", which I assumed would be due to trying to make the MPI calls outside of the main() function.

C++ :: How To Prevent Loop Running Over

Feb 18, 2014

i am writing a function that takes a delimited string and splits the strings into it's respective words according to the delimeter.

1) iterate through string and store delimeter position in vector array.

2) iterate through again and use substr to split into words and store again in a vector.

I then have a dictionary file, and am comapring each values in the string with each in the dictionary, problem is that it overruns the loop and obviously gives a subscript out of range error.

Code:
#include <iostream>#include <fstream>
#include <vector>
using namespace std;
//Start with string inputString
//Find delimeters ::pos as ints and stores positions in vector <int> array
//Run though string using 'find' and seperate string by positions of char32s
//Build vector<string> array of individual words in string
//Open dictionary file and loop though testing each words in vector string array against each word in dictionary

C/C++ :: Running Array In Less Complexity

Feb 9, 2015

Giving a dynamic array, we want to pass the array elements from a file. The first number in the file N gives us the array length. They follow N numbers, the actual elements of the array.

Three brothers are going to work in the shop of their father for a time. The shop is doing well and every day generates profit which the three brothers may provide. The brothers agreed that they would divide the total time in three successive parts, not necessarily equal duration, and that each one will be working in the shop during one of these parts and collects the corresponding profit on his behalf. But they want to make a deal fairly, so that one received from three more profit someone else. Specifically, they want to minimize the profit the most favored of the three will receive.

I first created a program that WORKS! with complexity O(n3).

#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <limits.h>
int sum_array(int* array, int cnt){
int res = 0;
int i;
for ( i = 0; i < cnt ; ++i)

[Code] .....

Let's assume that we have the following input:

10

1 1 8 1 1 3 4 9 5 2

The ouptut should be 15 -> A = 1 + 1 + 8 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 15 , B = 4 + 9 = 13 , C = 5 + 2 = 7.

But the ouptut is 16!

How can I reduce the complexity of my first working! C code?

C/C++ :: How To Determine If Application Is Already Running On Mac OSX

So my current code says:

system("open /Users/adsmaster/client/client &"); // to launch the application from the service in a new shell

I read that on a Linux-line machine you can use $ cal to get the exit value of the recently run process but I am not sure how can get the exit value of a particular process?

C++ :: Monitor Cpu Usage While App Is Running

Jul 15, 2012

I am working on a parallel processing server/client app with a multi-threaded server and several data processing clients, each their own process. I am trying to optimize some of the parameters, such as the size of the chunks that are read, processed, and output, and also some of the timeout values and such. I can track the time to finish a given task well enough, but it would be really nice to be able to track the cpu use. When CPU use is near 100% (on all cores) for the entire run, that is a good sign. I have noticed that with some combinations of parameters, CPU drops quite a bit for long stretches, which is not such a good sign. This app process large input files (2.5GB-65GB so far) and needs to be stable for long periods of time.

Other than sitting and staring at the task manager all day, is there a good way to track/log the CPU usage over runs that take many hours? I know that there are some apps like Everest that chart CPU use, but it would be nice to have something that would write to the same log file I am already using for other program output.
