Visual C++ :: Convert XML Attributes To Class Using Tinyxml

i am trying to create a firework display by reading in the fireworks off a .xml file, which will then iterate through and launch each firework.

I followed a tutorial on dinomage to find out how to use tinyxml, i learnt that i can store the attributes into char pointers but i dont know how to convert them to GLfloats to store them in my class variables.

I did try using atof but when i ran the program i got loads of errors which im guessing is because the pointer only stores the address which im passing to my variable.

i have found out that tinyxml is not compatible with vs2010 but tinyxml 2 is, so i have changed my code but am still having trouble loading my attributes i have added error checking, and it prints out that the xml has loaded but then it wont load the root

Visual C++ :: Change Default Text Attributes (font And Color)

I needed to change Default Text attributes (font and color) . So I wrote following code , UnicodeTextOut function. I called this function once in each 55ms to update the display screen. but I observed that my Screen used to become grey like a crash after sometime . If I use Minimize an Maximize window , the screen was restoring back for some time.

When I thought over the code , I got my mistake that CreateFont initialization should be done once in the program and probably outside the function.

Then I shifted the line hFontUnicode = CreateFont(16, 0, 0, 0, 0 , 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, 0, _T("Aerial")); in my screen class constructor and made hFontUnicode global .

This solved my problem as expected. Why a system crash after certain no of CreateFont calls ?

I am using TinyXML 2 for the data of my RPG game, I am almost done with the tilemap parsing system, but I just couldn't figure out how to extract csv data that I have in my XML file, like this:

To the topic: I've been following "SDL game development" book by Shaun Mitchell and (besides the many others in the past) I've encountered a problem in one of the chapters.

I'm in "creating and displaying tile maps". The chapter uses tintxml to load data outside the code, which is used to create a "map screen".

The problem is that the program work perfect except for not loading and/or rendering this "screen".

I know this is too vague of an explanation, but I wouldn't know what else to say.

I've defined a class with a copy constructor. Some sample code:

Class* c = new Class(*this) // My copy constructor must take in a const Class&

And the compiler gives:

error: cannot convert 'Class' to 'Class*' in initialization

Why does this syntax work with other data types? For example, int* MyInt = new int; compiles fine. What about a copy constructor makes it fail?

C :: Different HTML Shapes With Random Attributes

This time I need to generate random shapes (circles, rectangles, squares, and ellipses) with random attributes with C, to html.

I am able to create specific shapes with random attributes, but I am unsure how to have the function create a random shape...

Also, the function "box" is meant to create a black border around the shapes. It does this, but I do not know how to make it so that the other shapes do not show up along the lines of this "box."

I guess it appears that certain shapes are "layered" over top of others? ie. My circles/ellipses always show up on top of the rects/squares/box.Currently I have this:

Each object in the vector has an integer attribute called passengers, which can be returned using the function getPassengers().

How do I sort the vector by the objects' passenger int? I know I need to use sort() and presumably a comparison function but I'm not quite sure how.

I have to write a c++ program to read html code and do bunch of stuff. One thing that i have to do is to count the no of attributes and sort them in descenting out and print out only first 10 frequently used attributes. I counted them using maps and sorted them using multimaps but now dnt knw how to print only 10 elements

I wrote this program to create a list of medical resources and their attributes, a task I have been performing repeatedly lately. I'm still fairly new to C++, so I thought to create a structure "Resource", and then an array of those structures "city[300]". My problem is that the input doesn't seem to be happening: the program runs, but when it prints to screen/writes to the file at the end, all the shows is:

Problem:Given any amount of money expressed in dollars, and cents, this program computes the number of 100 , 50, 20, 10, 5 and 1 dollar bills and number of quarters, dimes, nickels, and pennies to be returned, returning how many of each denomination are included.

I figured out how to program it correctly for the most part except I cannot figure out how to handle large numbers, such as 14.49999999999999999999999999999999.When converting that number to int it returns it as 14.50. How to handle converting doubles, similar to the one above, to an integer correctly?

I'm trying to read in two instances of date and time (from user input) into a string value (MM/DD/YY hh:mm).
I need to be able to calculate the difference between the two in order to return how much time has elapsed from the first date/time to the second date/time.

What would be the most efficient way to go about obtaining said results?

I was thinking I need to convert each year, month, day, hour, and minutes into its own integer variable, after researching immensely online I'm still not sure how to convert from a string of characters to an integer.

I am a novice programmer(still...) , and I am trying to build the Code Project project located at this address:

I would like to use this program plus I wanted to practice programming using the code base. However, I don't have MFC so I thought I would just convert it to non-MFC.

For example, It seems to me that any class inherited from MFC would need to be reimplemented. I think I also need to reimplement any code that uses "stdafx.h"

I built a custom project out of the zlib library and compiled it as a Windows library with the /MT settings. Both 32 and 64 bit library files, in Release and Debug mode, are included. The ZLIB.H and ZCONF.H files are also included. For examples of single-threaded usage, see the CZLib class. For examples of multi-threaded usage, see the classes CDriveMultiThreadedCompression, CMultiThreadedCompression, and CZLib.

I m loading a png image by using the ATLImage library.

how to retrieve the byte array value of this png image. I tried retrieving it as

but when i access the data , der is a loss of data while converting it in the above manner.

I receive a byte stream. The first 8 bytes contain an Identification number. I receive at first the lowest byte and at the end the highest byte of the number. How can I transform this into a double value and later back into the bytestream?
