Visual C++ :: Find The Location Of Certain Digits From User Input

Sep 24, 2013

I have been trying to finish this code (function) for a while now, but am stuck on the last part. In this code, I prompt the user to select a number of integers and any number of digits and then find the smallest and largest value within these digits. On the next part, I am supposed to determine which of the given digits the smallest and largest are located such that the output should be:

Digit _ can be found in integer number(s): _, _

Here is what I have tried:

Code:
int digitSizeLoca() {
int userNumInteger;
int* iPtr;
int* iPtr2;
int* iPtr3;
int value;

[Code] ....

Seems to do the job, but it always outputs 1, 2...

C++ :: Input Integer Then Output Both Individual Digits Of The Number And Sum Of Digits

Oct 11, 2014

My problem needs to prompt the user to input an integer and then outputs both the individual digits of the number and the sum of the digits. An example would be entering 8030 and it spits out 8 0 3 0 as well as 8+0+3+0=11 and it needs to work with negative numbers.

Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <iomanip>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int base;

[Code] ....

Now I don't know if any of this is right a hint my professor gave us is that to get the fourth digit you would do base mod 10 and to get the first digit you do base divided 1000...

Code:

{
int power;
int counter=0;
int value=1;
cout << "Enter the power of 10 you want: ";

C++ :: Input From User A Positive Number N And Find Its Factorial

Oct 8, 2014

Write a C++ program that will input from the user a positive number n and find its factorial. Don’t forget to validate the input. The factorial of a positive integer n (denoted by n!) is defines as the product of the integers from 1 to n.

n! = 1* 2 * 3 * ... * (n - 1) * n

You should allow the user to continue working with your program for additional data sets.

Sample output:

Please enter a number: 5
5! = 120
Would you like to continue (Y/N)?Y
Please enter a number: 3
3! = 6

Would you like to continue (Y/N)?N
Good Bye!!

My code for what i think I'm doing is as follows:

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main(){
int i=1;
int n;

C/C++ :: Find Sum Of Prime Factors Of User Input Integer

Sep 16, 2014

As an assignment for school , I've to write a program to find the sum prime factors of a user input integer.

E.g. 20 = 2 x 2 x 5 , Sum = 2 + 2 + 5 = 9
E.g. 10 = 2 x 5 , Sum = 2 + 5 = 7

My method for finding the result is as follows :

- Divide the number by increasing values if int i , starting from i=2.

- Once I get a value of i that can divide the number without giving me a remainder , I add this value of i to int sum and divide the number by i.

- I will repeat this process until the user input value is equal to 1.

My code is as shown:

#include<stdio.h>
int primecheck(int n); // Function to check if i is prime
int primesum(int n); // Function to sum the values of i that are prime
int main(void) {
int n;
int sum;
printf("Enter a number (> 1): "); //Prompting and scanning user input ,n
scanf("%d",&n);
sum = primesum(n);

[Code] .....

But for some reason I keep getting an incorrect result, it's as if it is missing out the last factor for each case.

Eg. 20 = 2 x 2 x 5 , the result I get is 4 , which is 2+2
Eg. 40 = 2 x 2 x 2 x 5 , the result I get is 6 , which is 2+2+2;

I've looked through my code numerous times.

C :: Function To Generate A Number - How To Find Same Digits

Nov 15, 2014

I use rand function to generate a number which consists of 3-5 digits(e.134,1435,73463..). The user decides whether he wants a 3 digit,4 digit or 5 digit number.After that,the user tries to guess the number.Its like mastermind game.The user will enter a number (with the same amount of digits) and the program will calculate how many digits from the secret number he has found and also how many digits he has found in the correct position(e.if the generatir produces the number 32541 and the user tries the number 49581 the program should tell him that he found 3 digits (5,1,4) and 2 digits in the correct position(5,1)) so that after some tries he finds the secret number.My problem is with the functions so that i can compare the digit of each number,find the amount of same digits and the amount of digits in same position.

C# :: User Requirements And Database Location

Mar 5, 2014

Right now my application database is stored in the AppDataRoamingAppName directory.

The client has requested that the administrator choose the location for the database, and have a choice between a local machine, or an online repository.

The clients are not IT people, they are business people, and I don't think it's a good idea to let a user choose where to keep the central app database. Other users (think admin vs user) will need to download the database for use on their own local machines, which is how the issue even came up, it's kind of a shared database that only the admin can add to.

My compromise was to COPY the main database to the location of the user's choosing, then push updates to it as the main database was written to.

So after working on this today, I have the user choose a directory, I add the file path to the application settings, then I create the file and copy the database as needed to the new location (online repositories are next).

I am really desperate on trying to make my code work. The code is to find the eigen values of any given matrix of dimension NxN. The input can be the diagonal of any NxN matrix alongwith its subdiagonal. The code works fine for N~350 or so but when i go beyond that these errors appear.

First-chance exception at 0x00425ea4 in divide.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x01141000.
Unhandled exception at 0x00425ea4 in divide.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation writing location 0x01141000.

But as i have never declared any variable statically and when i dynamically allocating memory with variables it should work like it does for smaller N values.

C++ :: Program To Swap Positions Of Digits Of User

Oct 11, 2014

I'm using code blocks ....

1.Write a program to swap positions of digits of a user entered three-digit integer N, where N is equal or between 101 and 999. (i.e. if user enters 389 your program should print 983. If user enters 300 program should print 003). Repeatedly ask user for correct N, if he/she enters an integer N which is not in the range.

2. Given that y= 4*( 1- 1/3 + 1/5- 1/7+ 1/9-...plus or minus 1/N) Write a program using a for-loop or a while-loop to compute and print the sum of first 50 terms of y.

3. a) Write a user-defined function funGx to compute G(x), where

5 if x<-10

x^2 +(5/x) if -10 <=x<-5

x^2 - (5/x-5) if -5<=x<5

x^2 -(5/x) if 5<=x<10

-5 if x>=10

b) Call the user-defined function funGx in main function to compute and print G(x)values for x= -15.5 , x=5, and x= 0.5 in an informative sentence.

The automatic part: /*This is not correct.

C :: Input Number - How To Store 500 Digits

I seriously doubt that my computer can store that! Is that just some huge value used to scare people off or is there some sneaky trick that I am unaware of?

I am done with the program, but won't post it, Lets not ruin the fum for ohers...Does that 500 limit also applies to result of operation?So max length of an input number is ~22 digits ? But still, how do I store 500 digits? Array would be a lot of wastage of memory (though I do have 256MB available).
