I am trying to create a simple interface on console to allow to input some values to some variables. For ex:

However, I want these three to display at the same time (now they display one by one), and in the console window I can move the cursor between input place of a, b and c with "arrow key" of keyboard.

I want the program to print out all the numbers that the user has entered after the program have said the higest and lowest number is ?. But I do not know how to do this I thought it could be something like this:

gore calculates x^(2*i)-3 and dole is for (2+i)! for input x=1 and n=1 i get -2.0 output which is the value of x^(2*i)-3 the (2+i)! part gets ignored for some reason, for any other input i tried the output is 0 ....

C++ :: Input Showing As Default Values?

Same solution that I was having compiler errors on yesterday. We're working with inheritance and the program is supposed to be to create and display information for default Employee objects, Hourly Employee objects and Salaried Employee objects. Everything compiles as is, but I'm running into two issues that I can't figure out.

1) In both the hourly and salaried objects, the wage, hours, and management level attributes all displaying their default values. I'm almost positive that this has something to do with the str to int and str to double conversions that I'm using (currently have atoi and atof in the file, but I've also tried stringstream, but still had to same problem). Any thoughts as to what I'm missing?

2) the assignment calls for the Benefit benefit member in Employee.h to be protected. However this makes the member unaccessible when I try to use it in the EmployeeMain.cpp in order to set the input for the Benefit class members. I had to make the Benefit benefit member public again to get it to compile. How would I set the input for the Benefit class members while the Benefit benefit member is protected?

What "int values" is supposed to mean as parameters to these functions? I'm not sure what do with them. Also how to input values into the array via functions. I was trying to but I just don't understand how to connect a user's input to a function to then enter into an array.

I have developed the following code for a PIC18 micro-controller. The object of the program is to compare a input value (presumably from a magnetic swipe card), represented here as scan_id, to a list of valid access ID's represented by the array valid_id. If there is a match the program will drive an output pin high to light a green LED for 20 seconds. If there is not a match the program will drive an output pin high to light a red led for 20 seconds.

The issue that I am having is that when the program is executed, the "else" case for the red LED is always selected regardless of the value for scan_id. If I change the "if" statement from == to = then the case for the green LED is always selected regardless of the value for scan_id.

I can`t seem to store multiple values into my vector when a user keys in an input. Lets say a user inputs 1,2 as the first set and later keys in 3,4.

My vector gets overridden by 3 and 4. I'm trying to pass these values into a function to store them into a vector and use them in the function.

I'm trying to pass these numbers into the array using the for loop: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. I created two files in my project called "inStuff.txt" and "OUTPUTS.txt". I know I have an error at my input in the for loop, which is a bit similar to my problem or something? I'm also on linux using a crossGCC complier(not sure if that makes a difference).

I am trying to extract unsigned values from an input stream. I expect the extraction to fail when an invalid character is extracted. It fails correctly when I try to extract an unsigned int from "abc", but when I try to extract an unsigned in from "-1", the extraction succeeds, and the max unsigned int value is extracted (as if -1 were cast to unsigned int). I would expect the '-' to cause the extraction of an unsigned value to fail.

I'm trying to increment the values in a vector, not the vector size, based on variable input. Basically I have a vector of size 10, and all of its values are initialized at zero. The program counts the frequency of numbers 0-9 in a four digit user input. This is what I have (I want it to work so badly but the compiler says that I'm using a pointer to a function used in arithmetic):

I'm attempting to save values from a char buffer into integer values of a struct.

This is what resides in the buffer "STD 2 2 2 2 2 2 2 " and this is my sscanf call

&dt_struct.year,
&dt_struct.dow,

I then print the values back out in a string using sprintf.

C++ :: Dequeuing Integer Values From Heap Results In Garbage Values

I've been working on a homework assignment that randomly generates integers and populates them into an array (array1). The program is then supposed to:

1.) copy those values to a second empty array (array2)

2.) sort the values already in array1 (using an inline function)

3.) enqueue the unsorted integers from array2 into a heap vector

4.) a third empty array (array3) is supposed to be populated with those unsorted integers (by dequeuing them from the heap), sorted in reverse order.

But no matter what I do, I always get garbage values like these:

I've tried using both a standard random number generator:

array1[i] = rand()%100+1;

And the d_random.h file my instructor gave us, but nothing works.

Goal: Write a program that compares the values stored in the first array to the user inputted values in the second array.

I had to change my array initialization to one with a star in front of it:

char a1[]={"a","d","b","b","c","b","a","b","c","d","a","c","d","b","d","c","c","a","d","b"};
to:
char *a1[]={"a","d","b","b","c","b","a","b","c","d","a","c","d","b","d","c","c","a","d","b"};

I also changed my 2nd array to one with a star in front of it: char *a2[20];

What does this mean exactly? Putting a star in front of an array?

Also, I am now getting an "unhandled exception" when I try to get input for my 2nd array:

cin>>a2[i];
