C++ :: Calculate Angle Value In Form Of Trigonometric Functions - Loops And Void
Jul 24, 2013
This is an assignment which the purpose is to calculate an angle value in form of trigonometric functions. These are the codes that I've wrote so far.
#include <iostream>
#include <cstdlib>
using namespace std;
void menu(double &value) {
system("cls");
cout<<"*****Trigonometry Program*****"<<endl;
[Code] ....
I have completed the codes for the interface part. Before I proceed with the formula for the trigonometric functions, I would like to make sure the program is Error-free, which if there is accidental invalid input from the user, the program would the user to enter another input until it is a valid response.
The only problem I have encountered for this matter was in menu(value)
If I enter an integer, the program will proceed without error. However, If I enter a character, the program will slip into an endless loop which constantly shows this
*****Trigonometry Program*****
Please enter an angle value => Is the angle in Degree or Radian?
Type D if it is in Degree
Type R if it is in Radian
Your response=> 0 //my initial input for value
Do you want to continue?
Type Y to continue
Type any other key to stop
Your response =>
Where is the source of the problem? I'm pretty sure it's the loop, but I don't know what to do.

How do I create a function that can understand trigonometric functions?
Examples:
if I am to input: x^2 + sin(x)
The program will understand the the value between parenthesis preceded by a string "sin" will be computed as the sine of x. of any function in case.
I have the program here.
#include <iostream>
#include <cstdlib>
#include <cctype>
#include <cstring>
using namespace std;
enum types { DELIMITER = 1, VARIABLE, NUMBER }; //DEL = 1; VAR = 2; NUM = 3.

My question is not in c++ programing , but because my aim is to make code that calculate the three angles between two vector i ask my question here
So as the title i have three point that create two vector and I want to get the angles in x,y and z of the point2
I used crosproduct that give me one angle without axe , I don't know in which axe this angle
My aim is the three angles for the 3 axes ....

Write a C++ program consisting of main plus two other functions which will do the following:
Take an integer input from the keyboard.
Send the integer to a function which will output the integer to the screen.
Send the integer to a second function which will tell the user that the integer is an odd value.
Do not tell the user anything if the integer is an even value.
Repeat this process until the user enters something which is not an integer; use input validation to check for validity.
Any not valid input should terminate the program.

My assignment is to write a program using VOID FUNCTIONS WITH AN ARGUMENT.
*I need one non-void function with an argument to generate the first 15 numbers greater than 500, another non-void function with an argument to generate the first 15 perfect squares that are greater than 500. Last, they need to be in columns next to each other.* also i cant use x,y, coordinates to align them. i must create a for loop with the
These are some notes from examples in the class. i just don't know how to do it with non void functions with an argument.

I want to write a code that gets three values from the user and puts them into three arrays. When the user enters -999, I want to print out a chart showing all the values they put in. This is what I have so far but it wont build. It tells me std::string is requested, but I'm not sure where to put it, and printArrays is declared void. How can I fix this?
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
const int ARSIZE = 400;
void printArrays (string reportTitle, int levelsArray[], int scoresArray[], int starsArray[], int i);

1) This first function initializes an array of 30 components so that the first 15 components are equal to the square of the index value and the last 15 components are equal to the index value multiplied by 3.
2) The second function processes the array by finding the sum of the first 15 components and the sum of the last 15 components to determine which sum is bigger. The output to the screen should do the following:
a)State “The sum of the first 15 components is:” and then show the sum.
b)State “The sum of the last 15 components is:” and then show the sum.
c)State which of the two resulted in the greater sum or if the two sums were equal.
Function: The program uses two subroutines. One to initialize an array and the other to process the array and print to screen results:
#include <iostream>
#include <iomanip>
// Include any other header files you may need.
const int ARRAY_SIZE = 30;
void initialize ( double list[], int index );
void square ( double list[], int index );
void threeTimes ( double list[], int index );
void output ( const double list[], int index );

The output should look similar to this:
how much was your shirt?
20
shirt 20.00
tax =1.20
the total 21.20
Code:
include <iostream>
#include <iomanip>
using namespace std;

void calculate(double shirtCost,double taxAmount, double total, double taxamount) ;
void printReceipt(double shirtCost, double taxAmount, double total, double taxamount);

So i have to use these prototype functions to run loops and to pause the program, the only problem is after i select a loop option and enter a number of dots to print in the loop it goes into an infinite loop and why, also when i try using the 4 option to exit it still asks me how many dots i want to print.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <math.h>
int pause(char *);
int getInt(char *);
void whileFunction(int);
void doWhileFunction(int);
void forFunction(int);

I need coding this project using while loops and cout/cin.. It is suppose to be one while loop for the whole thing and inside of the first while loop is the second while loop for each sale separately.
You have been asked to write a program to calculate sales totals for a general store. Your program will not know how many products each customer will buy, so your program will have to repeat the process until the last product has been entered (use -1 for Product ID to end each sale). After each sale your program must ask if you want to do another sale (Y - continue, N - end program).
At the beginning of the day, the cash drawer has $500 in it. At the end of the program you must display how much money is in the drawer after handling all your sales transactions.
Input
Your program must take the following input:
- Product ID Number (int)
- Quantity for each item purchased (int)
- Cash Received at the end of the sale
Use the following dataset to determine the price and taxability for each item.
First Sale:
Product ID Price Quantity Taxable
101 $65.00 2 Yes
102 $12.50 1 No
103 $24.50 5 No
104 $38.75 4 Yes
105 $17.80 6 Yes
106 $16.50 2 No
107 $42.85 8 Yes
108 $32.99 2 Yes
109 $28.75 1 Yes
110 $51.55 1 No
Second Sale:
Product ID Price Quantity Taxable
102 $12.50 1 No
103 $24.50 1 No
106 $16.50 1 No
107 $42.85 1 Yes
108 $32.99 1 Yes
109 $28.75 1 Yes
Third Sale:
Product ID Price Quantity Taxable
106 $16.50 4 No
107 $42.85 3 Yes
108 $32.99 1 Yes
109 $28.75 5 Yes
110 $51.55 2 No
Calculating Tax
For those items that are taxable, assume a 7.5% sales tax. Be sure to keep a running total of tax for the each sale.
Getting Started
You must use the starter file provided with this assignment.
What to turn in:
- A copy of your source code
- A printout of your program's output

This code i made is a cent converter from 5 to 95 cents. The problem i'm receiving is when the 'cents' function is sent back to the 'main' function it only prints one line. It seems to just print the first if construct that complies with the statement. Is there anyway i can have this function print multiple cent values? For example if 60 cents was entered it would only print '50c', and i want it to print '50c' and '10c' instead.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
int x;
void check(int x)
{
if( x < 5)
printf("Less then 5 cannot be calculated
");
else if(x > 95)

I want modify the code by adding multiple functions.
I want to create a separate function whenever possible to break up the program.
For example, I would like have a function for obtaining the hours from the user, another function for calculating overtime hours, another for calculating gross pay and another function for producing the output.

This program in not completed. I am creating a large program in order to calculate a company's weekly payroll. For now I am filling in the separate functions piece by piece before the rest of the program is completed.
Right now I am trying to use separate functions to call other functions. I need to ask the user for the file name and then open the file. I am no longer getting any compiler errors however when I run the program all it displays is "Welcome."
So it's not actually calling the NameTheFile function and the OpenTheFile function. It just says "Welcome" and then closes down. Why is it doing this?
/*Program to determine company's weekly payroll*/
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <fstream>
using namespace std;
void NametheFile() {
ifstream inputFile;

I'm writing a program that calculate the carbon footprint for car, building, and bicycle. i have three classes building, car, bicycle. class called carbonfootprint have the pure virtual and should have the formula, but i didn't find it. having a little bit hard understanding some requests. like,
• Write an abstract class CarbonFootprint with only a pure virtual getCarbonFootprint method. Have each of your classes inherit from that abstract class and implement the getCarbonFootprint method to calculate an appropriate carbon footprint for that class.
• The main() function in the given program creates objects of each of the three classes, places pointers to those objects in a vector of CarbonFootprint pointers. You need to iterate through the vector, polymorphically invoking each object’s getCarbonFootprint method.
// Test program for CarbonFootprint and implementing classes.
#include <iostream>
#include <vector>
using namespace std;
int main() {
vector< CarbonFootprint* > list;
// add elements to list

This is more of a Application Design question, Let's say I have Form1(Login), this is opened from Program.cs, when the user enters details, the Event Handler makes a instance of a class, adds the data and stores the instance within Program.cs class.
So the best thing to do here, is to close the Form1(Login) and open Form2(Main) via Program.cs so that I can send the List<Login> object with my Login instance objects to said form. This form will remain open throughout the applications use as it's like the main GUI for all the programs functions.
When I close this form, I may want to save some information before the application is terminated, so I may as well store the Login instances in Program.cs anyway.
Main stepping stone: Multiple (usually around 3 max) users can login this system if need be, which will mean closing Form2(Main) and then opening Form1(Login) so that once Form1 is closed it can recreate the From2(Main) form and pass the new List<Login> to that form.
What's the best way to do this, at the moment i'm creating the Form2 instance like so:
//....
//Detect the Login form being closed
loginForm.Closed += new EventHandler(OnLoginClosed);
//...
//Open the main form when the login is closed
private void OnLoginClosed(object sender, EventArgs e)
[Code] .....
This seems like it will work and do the job, but is there a better and cleaner way? The List<Login> will be passed to Forms which are created via Form2(Main) as this information will be needed. It's just that ive been told not to use Forms for too much data containment.

i'm working on a robotics project, to move the robot from it's current position to target position i need to calculate the angle first before i can move the robot.this the code I use to calculate the angle:
double cal_angle ( int current_x , int current_y , int tar_x , int tar_y )
{
return atan2(tar_y - current_y, tar_x - current_x);
}
int main ()
[code]....
as u can see the angle between x4,y4 to x1,y1 should be 3.14 (180)however , the result are correct as long as the distance from the current position to target position > 1 (not sure actually).
