C++ :: Text To Speech Without SAPI?
Feb 14, 2015I'm trying to find some code that can do very very simple text to speech WITHOUT using SAPI.
Remember back in the day using DOS with the speech coming from the system, I know it was pretty bad lol, but that's what I'm shooting for. Just the C++ equivalent.

Nov 13, 2013I was looking for a C++ library for use as stated in the title. I was considering using Voce; however, for the project, I wanted to be able to use a custom voice. For example, in most TTS programs you can pick voices. I wanted to record a custom one. However, I don't really know how these libraries work internally, and since the text to speech is referred to as synthesis, it seems they are created through algorithms rather than recordings. Is there any library which I could use a custom recorded voice with?

C++ :: Writing Output Of While Loop To Text File?
Jul 30, 2014[URL] when I try to write my output to a file. I am building a life insurance premium calculator with c++. What my calculator does is read in a text file called "policies.txt" containing a number of different policies. For example:
Pol1 M N 20 100000 1 .04 99
Pol2 F S 30 100000 1 .05 99
Pol3 M S 72 750000 1 .03 99
Pol4 F N 45 1000000 1 .05 99
And using this, it creates a single premium. Once the calculator calculates the premium of each policy, I want it to write out the premium amount of each policy to a textfile called "output.txt". The problem is that when I check my "output.txt" file, only the premium for the last policy shows up. It only reads:
Premium for Pol4 is 220384
When I want it to read:
Premium for Pol1 is 14101.6
Premium for Pol2 is 14221.2
Premium for Pol3 is 582391
Premium for Pol4 is 220384
How come only the last policy is showing up? and is there any way to make all four policies appear in my output text file? Here is my code:

Nov 15, 2012My program involves trajectory planning using cubic spline method for a robotic arm. In the process, I had to calculate joint angles for each point in the path. In the last few lines of the code I need to write the values for counter and theta1 into a text file which I called "Test.txt". I am doing this using a nested for loop(the counter runs until it reaches 19 and hence need 19 theta1 values corresponding to it). However, I can't get all the theta1 values transferred to the text file.The statement within my inner loop is wrong and don't know how to fix it.

Jun 22, 2013I've been coding for about 10 years now and it just got to my mind that I would like to learn about how I can create speech recognition software. I am mostly interested in doing this from ground 0 not because there are no other libs I can use, but it's more of an interest to me.
grasp this new and magnificent feature that's becoming more and more used nowadays.
My preference would be coding in C++ (more because of OOP that's why not C) and I don't really like Java.
I know what I'm getting involved in but I am thrilled and willing to go all the way to achieve my goal.

C/C++ :: Add Speech Program At Startup In Windows
May 16, 2014I am trying to build a program which would start at the start of the computer, so for that when ever the user would run the program the program must get copied in the startup folder of the Windows I guess or anything else so that the program runs as soon as the computer is booted.
I this program would create a .vbs file n the startup, in that vbs file i would write the code for speech. so what the computer would greet you when you switch on the PC.
Here's what I tried:

So my motive behind this code is that, this should create a .vbs file in the startup folder in that vbs file the above code would be written,

And then the vbs file would execute as soon as the computer starts, and then it would speak "Hello!".
But the problem is that i am not able to create a file in the folder when i run the program the file is not created, i do not get any error but nothing happens as well.

Feb 6, 2014I am writing a simple file/text parser to read a config file for some code I am working on. It's dead simple and not particularly smart but it should get the job done. The code reads a config file:

Here is where it gets wierd. You'll notice that there is an unused variable (filepath) in the config struct. This variable is not referenced or used anywhere in the code, ever. Yet if I comment out the declaration of char filepath[1024], the code segfaults partway through the read_config() function.
My best guess is that there is a buffer overflow elsewhere and it just so happens that the memory allocated for filepath happened to be there to catch it up until now, but I can't work out where it might be happening. With the declaration commented out, the read_config() function gets as far as reading the "padding" variable before it crashes. Yet when the declaration is there, then all the variabled are read correctly and everything seems to work.
