View 4 RepliesI have problem with find the index of the following array.
int minimums[2]={201,201};//first initialize both to greater than maximum allowed
for (int index = 0; index < 200; index++) {
if(find_array[index] < minimums[0]) {
minimums[0] = find_array[index]; //Lowest number

I just purchased Visual C++ 2010 Ultimate, to start my coding experience. Whenever I try to debug, it gives me this error:
The system cannot find the file specified
It can't find the .exe file, I even Googled it, and tried a few things, without any luck.
I can't debug anything and get an error whenever I try. Being able to release a program to run it works sometimes, but it's hit or miss. I've created a very simple program to show the problem. The error on the screen is a result of me trying to debug, but I actually received the same error when trying to release as well.

I am using the gnu glpk library to calculate a linear program for my matrices. Why I get the error message exit code 3 which apparently means "The system cannot find the path specified"?
I am trying to use ini file for configuring my app.
But GetPrivateProfileString is not working.
I am using Windows 7. I tried "Wow64DisableWow64FsRedirection" also.
Not only this-ATLPath::FileExists is also not working.It gives an error code 0x80070002 which means:
"system could not find the file"
I'm having issues trying to input data from a .txt file into my array program. The whole program takes the name, # of goals and assists, adds them together to get points, and then puts in a given + or - rating. The program works except for the data input.
Also, this is an alphabetical "Unsorted" list, but is there a way to order the list based on point value and be able to display that as well as a separate "Ordered" list?
#include <iostream>
#include <iomanip>
#include <fstream>
#define NUM_PLAY 30
using namespace std;
int buildArrays(int[], int[], int[]);
void printArrays(string[], int[], int[], int[], int);
[Code]...
And this is the .txt file. Order is Players Name, Goals, Assists, Plus/Minus rating. The points are added when points = goals + assists (Should be in the main coding above).

I have a program (below)
int main() {
int x = 1;
char *y = (char *) &x;
printf("%d
", *y);
}
The output will be either "0" or "1" depending on the architecture of the system.When I executed on my system I got output as "1", now what is the architecture of my system is it 32 bit or 64 bit?
I am trying to find the distance between two void pointers, so I can follow this distance to a certain pointer in a vector when given only the previous element in that vector.
int distance = (char*) prev - (char*) first;
next = (char*) cv->elems + cv->elemsz + distance;
Basically, prev and first are void pointers. I am trying to cast them into a char, subtract the first element in the vector from the previous one, and then use this distance to determine what the next element in the vector is. However, it is not working. I am not sure how to do this. To complicate matters, prev is a const void *.
My MDI Project(VC++2010 Professional) is unable to catch errors ,though I return ,try catch block. So I developed simple dialog based application .Placed one button on Dialog and on its click written following code
Collapse | Copy Code
void CMFCExecDlg::OnBnClickedButton1() {
try {
int j = 0;
int i = 10/j;
}
catch(CException * e) {
MessageBox(_T("Hello"),_T(""),MB_OK);
}
}
But still program control does not come in catch block it simply gives error. I tried all child classes of CException but no use.I think there will be some setting in Visual Studio. How to handle exceptions

Right now I am trying to make an alarm clock type program that will start on login and will go off when a certain time is reached. I also want to set a password that will prevent system use until the correct password is entered into the program's input. What functions will I need and how are they used?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI want to know if there is a function or library that starts counting time when the program starts. Because I'm making a program that is dependent on time.
Pseudo code
time starts
if ( seconds % 2 == 0 ) {
counter++;

I wrote this code to search words in the file and display if the program found the word or not. when i write the words in the file on the same line (without the endl) like this :
w_toFile << "gilbert";
w_toFile << "lara";
w_toFile << "rana";
i can search any word.
but when i write them with the endl, the program can find only the first word. what can i do to make the program find any word even if they are each on a line?
here is the full code:
#include <iostream>
#include <windows.h>
#include <fstream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
int main (void) {
string wordsearch;

Any examples of a c++ program that uses recursion to find the longest increasing sequence from a grid in a file. Like
2 4 6 8
10 12 14 16
18 20 22 24

const int MAXROWS = 4;
const int MAXCOLS = 4;
const int MAXFILENAME = 255;

I'm working on a cross-platform threading project, the aim is to start 1 worker-thread that has a queue of worker-items which are serviced by the thread.
The threading framework works fine, both under Windows and LINUX, albeit as designed under Windows, and in a modified form under LINUX.
I have this CSnmpTrapd class which is designed as a worker-item for the worker-thread, it listens for incoming SNMP traps and decodes the packets, this is implemented in csnmptrapd.cpp and csnmptrapd.hpp.
1) When I add this piece of code to my makefile and re-compile the app successful... the app will start (or not?) but generates no console or file logging as is expected, it will not even show printf() output which was added as first statement in main(). My app handles CTRL-C to terminate and this works !?!? But I'm actually not sure my app works at that point.
2) When I compile the app without csnmptrapd.cpp and start it, it will generate console and logging output and behave as expected.
3) When I add the CSnmpTrapd class implementation to an existing cpp file in the project, it will compile and run as expected... the worker-thread handles the CSnmpTrapd worker-item as it should, incoming SNMP traps are captured and decoded, logging generated
