C++ :: Loop In A Text-Based RPG

I am working on my first RPG. Nothing fancy so far... I haven't developed a story or anything, just trying to get the gameplay hammered out. Anyway, I have a couple of NPCs and Items and I was wondering how I should program these interactive spots. I'm unsure whether I should loop the Room info or continue forward with if statements. With Items, I want to prevent the player trying to use the option to get the item again (after you pick up the item, the option is gone. Here are a couple examples of where I have the problem

What I want to do after the character interaction is complete is continue forward with the option to go south or east. I could return to the room menu, or continue by coding forward and allow the option to go east or south with more if-else-if chains..
In the next bit, I want to program the item to be picked up and then the treasure chest will be empty.

When using the 3 argument version of get you need to make sure to remove the delimiter or newline. Therefore, anytime you read (even a confirmation message), make sure to eat the newline! Make sure to have a delimiter written between each item in the file – like a newline. This will be important when you read the information back from the file.

I would like to try out a range based for loop. I am using gcc 4.6.3. According to the link below, gcc 4.6.3 should allow me to use a range based for loop.

However when attempting to run the code below, my IDE (Eclipse) reports the following error:

In the traditional for loop, you could make the loop start again by resetting the int value
for (int i = 0; i < 10: ++i){
//Do something
i =0;
}
Then it would start the loop again. However I can not seem to find a way to do this with the range based for loop. Is there anyway to force a range based for loop to start from, i = 0 ?

I'm using an animation program. In this program I've simulated a particle system. The particles are flying around at different and varying speeds. I've attached birds to the particles and I want to be able to control each bird's flapping animation based on its velocity; so birds moving faster will be flapping faster.
Initially, the bird's flapping animation is controlled by a parameter that goes from 0 to 100%. So not only do I need to drive the speed at which the animation goes from 0 to 100%, I need to set it on a loop so once it reaches 100%, it loops back to 0%. I'm extremely new to code so I don't think it would be wise for me to even provide a jumping off point, not that I could.

I'm currently creating a text-based RPG, to get myself back into learning C++ again. The problem seems to be with the if-else ladder of statements, the user selects which race they wish to play as, which as a result creates the appropriate object for that race.
This is the character selection option code:

I have two classes, productListType and buyerListType, that are each basically linked lists. To create the linked list for an object of productListType, I successfully wrote a non-class function createProductList to read the product data from a text file. The class definition for buyerListType has a data member productBoughtRecord that is of type productListType to aggregate the details of the products purchased by a particular buyer during transactions. I decided to make productBoughtRecord a pointer since the contents of this data member would wax and wane over the course of several transactions, depending on the amount and frequency of payments made by the buyer. I have provided a rough sketch of the class below:

I'm similarly trying to write a non-class function createBuyerList to load the record of customers from a text file. I am trying to make a very simple text based game and I want the players to be able to name their characters. Thus, I am trying to have the game ask "how many players will be playing:" and then taking that number (X) and create a place to store that information. I'm trying to get the game to ask, "What is the name of Player1?" Then once the user enters the name it would ask "What is the name of Player2" and that cycle would continue until PlayerX has entered their name. Is what I am doing close?

Basically I have been stuck for awhile and trying to change things around but I cant seem to get it to work.

I'm trying to print numbers in a label but I'm not having success. For example, I have the following code:

The idea is that when I click the button, the numbers on the label increment from 1 to 1000.
The Sleep() is there to slow down the loop and the user can see something happening. However, if I put the Sleep() before the label->, the form freezes completely. If I put the Sleep() after the label-> text, the form freezes for a few seconds and the label text goes from 1 and jumps straight to 1000.
The expected functionality is that the label displays numbers 1 through 1000 but increment every second.

I'm attempting to print a series of text from this loop, but for some reason all I am getting is the sum total and the number 1, like this

When I want to get it for each iteration of the loop. I've cycled over this and compared it to my other loops I've used and I'm lost as to why this isn't working. I also tried using a do while but that didn't work as well.

[URL] when I try to write my output to a file. I am building a life insurance premium calculator with c++. What my calculator does is read in a text file called "policies.txt" containing a number of different policies. For example:
Pol1 M N 20 100000 1 .04 99
Pol2 F S 30 100000 1 .05 99
Pol3 M S 72 750000 1 .03 99
Pol4 F N 45 1000000 1 .05 99
And using this, it creates a single premium. Once the calculator calculates the premium of each policy, I want it to write out the premium amount of each policy to a textfile called "output.txt". The problem is that when I check my "output.txt" file, only the premium for the last policy shows up. It only reads:
Premium for Pol4 is 220384
When I want it to read:
Premium for Pol1 is 14101.6
Premium for Pol2 is 14221.2
Premium for Pol3 is 582391
Premium for Pol4 is 220384
How come only the last policy is showing up? and is there any way to make all four policies appear in my output text file? Here is my code:

My program involves trajectory planning using cubic spline method for a robotic arm. In the process, I had to calculate joint angles for each point in the path. In the last few lines of the code I need to write the values for counter and theta1 into a text file which I called "Test.txt". I am doing this using a nested for loop(the counter runs until it reaches 19 and hence need 19 theta1 values corresponding to it). However, I can't get all the theta1 values transferred to the text file.The statement within my inner loop is wrong and don't know how to fix it.

I am trying to create a loop to call in the entries from the text file named Set. The entries of Set.txtare :

2 4 5
and so on .. (64 such combinations)[/CODE]
It basically means the first combination for testing is 1 2 3 and next has to be 2 4 5 and so i have 64 such entries defined in set
My test files are located in D://data// and are named tst_data1 to tst_data64.

I have tried to submit this topic before but i didn't submit my whole code and it was removed. So here it is.
