C++ :: How To Get Array Size Inside Method

May 30, 2013

I have one array with size of 5 and passing this array to one method. I want to get size of the array inside method. If i get size of array inside method, i'm getting only "1",but not "5".

int v[5];
v[0]=1;
v[1]=2;
v[2]=3;
v[3]=4;
v[4]=5;
cout<<sizeof(v)/sizeof(&v[0])<<endl; // here i'm getting size as 5
CreateArray(v);
void CreateArray(int val[])
{
cout<<sizeof(val)/sizeof(&val[0])<<endl; // here i'm getting size as 1
}

Is there any way to get size inside method ?

C# :: Static Method Inside Non-static Class

Aug 22, 2014

Have following code:

class Program
{
static void Main(string[] args)
{

[Code]....

My question according to what i just wrote:

1. Is that mean that Do() is only available for use by Dog itself because Dog is 'oryginal' Dog, and if i create new dogs - instances of oryginal Dog (dog1, dog2 ...) they cant access because Do is only available fo 'oryginal' one? Is that correct thinking?

2. If i would want to have something common (e.g value) for all dogs is that good way to create static field/method for Dog instead of non-static once then all instances of Dog would access Dog static member to get/change it? Just stupid example: static method GetAmountOfLegs() which return 4 Then all instances can take/call that value from Dog. Is that correct thinking?

C++ :: Undefined Reference To (method Name) When Accessing Method In Static Library

Jan 17, 2013

I've been trying for more than one month to access a method found in a library called libcocosnas_static.a. I'm using Cocos2d-X version 2.0.4. The library has been used many times by my company to make games using cocos2d-1.0.1-x-0.12.0 without any problem.

This is what I've done:
1- I added the include paths of the library to both eclipse and Android.mk
2- Included the .h file using #include "NASPlatformUtil.h"
3- Added the libcocosnas_static.a file to the proj.androidobjlocalarmeabi folder
4- Added "LOCAL_WHOLE_STATIC_LIBRARIES += cocosnas_static" to the Android.mk file
5- Called the function using: NASPlatformUtil:: openUrl("http://xxx.xxx.com/");

I can right click on the function, click Open Declaration and get it without any problem, but the compiler keeps on giving me that dreaded error...

C Sharp :: Method Returning A Two Dimensional Array

Aug 21, 2013

I have the following method:

public string[,] StringConvert_tblVFWPost(DataTable dt1) {
                string[,] stringArray = new string[dt1.Rows.Count, dt1.Columns.Count];
                for(int row = 0; row < dt1.Rows.Count; ++row)  {
                    for(int col = 0; col < dt1.Columns.Count; col++)

[Code] ....

The error I'm getting is "Cannot implicitly convert type 'string[*,*]' to 'string'". So that tells me what the issue is. However, I'm not sure how to fix it.

How do I change this method, so that it properly returns my two dimensional array?

pointer = &alphabet[5];

Trying to get my pointer to return the letter in the [5] spot or "F". Not receiving any errors when compiling, but I seem to get different answers every time I run it.

Ive recently got into function pointers, i find that they can be quite handy for making your program very 'dynamic'.

However, the syntax is very confusing for what i want to do
This is what i want to do

I want to hold function pointers inside an array, but this array is dynamically allocated ( malloc, realloc, etc )

This is the current syntax ive come up with, but i dont think it is correct

C++ :: Passing 2D Array To A Function Where Size Of Array Is Not Known At Runtime

Jun 27, 2014

I'm wondering if it is possible to pass a 2d array to a function where the size of the array is not known at runtime.

I've tried

function ( array[][6] ) ;

But the size of the array has to be constant so it cannot be declared later.

I've tried using a template but you still have to declare the size of the array at runtime. Is this even possible at all?

The only other way I can think of is using a dynamic 2d array but how to create one and manipulate it.

C# :: Fibonacci Series - Adding Value In Array Inside While Loop

May 27, 2014

I am making a program to run Fibonacci series. I have created 2 array.

1)- 1st array holds only 0, 1
2)- 2nd array holds other values eg: 1, 2, 3, 5..........etc

I am using while loop to get the febonacci series and storing it in a 2nd array called int[] numbers.

After getting value using while loop, I am joing both the arrays using int[] final = arr.Concat(number).ToArray();

At last, I have used foreach loop to add the febonacci series into the listbox.

The problem I have is that, I cannot able to concat both the arrays. I tried to assign number array at the top of the while loop. so that number variable will be accessible outside the while loop. But I am getting a error.

using System.Collections.Generic;

C++ :: Pass Method Of Derived Class As Parameter To Another Method In Base Class?

Feb 2, 2015

I have a question similar to the one here: [URL] .....

The main difference is I would like to pass a method of derived class as a parameter to some other method in its template base class.

template <typename BaseType>
class Base {
public:
typedef void (Base::*Callback)(int A);

[Code] .....

The above is an example which does not compile. My compiler complains that the two BaseMethod() calls in DerivedMethod() are invalid uses of non-static member function.

Is this not possible to do, or is my syntax simply wrong? All I want is to be able to pass as an an argument to a method in the base class from the derived class some callback as a variable for the base class to invoke later.

C :: Linear Search Script - Calling Array Inside Of User Defined Function?

Jul 24, 2013

im tasked with creating a linear search script using functions on a 10 element array. the elements are to be supplied by the user as is the search target.

I understand how to create the array and gather that information from the user as well as howto set a variable for "target", this is what im calling it. Those two parts are simple enough.

I am not fully understanding the calling of an array in a function as a pointer. i semi understand the use of a pointer and howto call a normal pointer in a function. i also understand that an array is nothing more then a "special" pointer with a set of consecutive address blocks for the size of the array.

My first user defined function is simple enough

Code:
ReadArray(int A[], int size){
int i;
printf("Please enter %d integer numbers separated by spaces:
", size);
for (i = 0; i < size; i++)
scanf("%d", &A[i]);
}

Sso nothing out of the ordinary there. that should be a standard for loop and use of scanf, sadly prof has not covered ssanf or any of the other options so i am stuck using scanf for now. maybe someday down the line in a other program or after this course ill get the chance to learn about better options for gathering data from the user.

I am confused as to my next function:

Code:
void SearchArray(int A[], int target, int size);

I've not written any code here yet as im not sure if i should call the A[], or *A for the first type of the function?

If i call *A do i then use something like this for my search:

Code:
for (*A = 0; *A < size; *A++)
if (*A < target) or use A[] insteadA?

Code:
for (i = 0; i < size; i++)
if (A[i] = target)
