C/C++ :: Making Program That Solve Two Times Difference?
Oct 19, 2012
I need to make a program which solove difference between two interested times in format hh:mm i made it but it doesn't give me right answers for all times for example it can't solve times like 23:50 and 0:15 and it says that difference is 23:35 and no 00:25

I am creating a program that solves the quadratic equation ax^2 + bx +c.
I have this program almost complete except the output of the equation in the function called display_quadratic. I need the program to display the variables a,b,c in the equation ax^2 + bx + c but I am having 2 problems. My first problem is that I cannot get the right addition and subtraction signs for the equation.
For instance, if the program had the values for a,b,c as 2,2,3
it will display 2x^2 2x 3
How can I get it to display 2x^2 + 2x + 3? or if it was negative like 2x^2 - 2x - 3?
My next question is how do I get to not display the coefficients that are 1?
I had an if-else statement but no matter what I created it would overlap with another statement and print out twice. Here is the code:
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <math.h>
void display_quadratic (float a, float b, float c);
float root1(float a, float b, float c);
[Code] ......

Repeat the vowel Problem 3 (0 / 0)Write a program that will repeat k times each single occurrence of a vowel in the input file "sp.txt" to a new file "output.txt". The first line of the input file contains only the parameter k. The first line (containing the parameter k) should not to be written in the output file.
I wrote the code but i cant figure out something. i read the file, i found the vowels but then i cant print them.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>#include <string.h>
#include <ctype.h>
#define MAX 100
int checkvowel(char c)

I'm having trouble getting my loop to work correctly. If I iterate the for loop once it works as expected and displays proper output. When I try to iterate two times or more the program gets stuck in an infinite loop.

Code:

The following code prevents windows from letting the monitor go into sleep mode when the program is active and wakes the monitor up after a scanner scans something.
Code:
protected override void WndProc(ref Message m) {
if (m.Msg == W32.Const.WM_SYSCOMMAND &&
(m.WParam.ToInt32() & 0xfff0) == W32.Const.SC_MONITORPOWER && m.LParam.ToInt32() != -1)
{
return;
[Code] ....
When the program is started normally it works fine. But when the program is started from a network share it goes to sleep anyway and the OnScan does not work anymore. Removing the Send Message line makes On Scan work again but then the monitor wont wake up on a scan of course.
What could be the problem here when started from the network?

I'm challenged to write a program which calculates the time difference between two daytime.
compiler doesn't give an error, yet the warning: "format '%d' expects argument of type 'int *', but argument 3 has type 'int' [- Wformat]" for lines 24 and 26
However, by entering the first time the program crashes anyway. so I assume I do really need some pointer to make it read from the console can you see where my problem is?
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
typedef struct {
int Second;
int Minute;
int Hour;
}Time;

I am using matlab R2o11 in which the programming medium is c++. I am having these variables=
T=373 t0 376
V=0.09 to 1
P=T/V
I just need a result showing ... First it should take T=373 and solve the equation using all volume values. Then it takes another temperature and do the same.

char str2[]= "hello" ;

Write following functions
makingArray: this function will return a double pointer which points to a double array and take one parameter- an integer variable which has a default argument of 5. The argument is the size of the integer array. when the function is called, the users input or default argument will be used for the size of the array. The function will initialize all elements of the array with the 'cin' object.
getTotal: this function will return a double and take two parameters- a double array, which can NOT be modified by this function, and an integer variable for a size of the array. This function will calculate the total of all elements then return a double number which is the total.
main: demonstrate functions( makingArray and getTotal) by calling them in a program

My task I am trying to accomplish is write a program for C++ that numerically solves a quantum harmonic oscillator. I have a routine that I am trying to implement into this program that iterates through a matrix and finds it eigenvalues, however, I do not know how to put it all together to make it work. Code is below:
Code:
//Compiler flags and numerical constants
#include <iostream>
#include <math.h>
#define L 10.0
#define N 200
using namespace std;

I have to make a calculator program that has 5 different functions (this is obviously the easy part, once all the input is assigned to their respective variables), which are addition, subtraction, mod, multiplication and division (negatives are not allowed, and must be error-checked; spaces must be ignored). I need to take the equation from the user, echo it back and then solve the problem.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <ctype.h>
#include <math.h>

I have a problem: solve the system of equations by the Gauss-Jordan methods with pthreads. I have a big matrix A (for example 2000x2000), so i must solve Ax = b. Before I devide matrix to number of threads and each thread must work only with his peace of matrix.
Code:
#include <iostream>
#include "synchronize.h"
#include <pthread.h>
using namespace std;
typedef struct _ARGS {
int thread_count;
int thread_number;
[Code] .....
I write it on Ubuntu, and when I compile [g++ main.cpp -o main -lpthread -lm] the it works good(for example, if in 1 thread I get time_of_working = 10 sec, on 2 threads time_of_working = 5.4, i.e. about 2 times faster ), if I compile like this [g++ main.cpp -o main -lpthread -lm -O3] it is only 1.2-1.3 times faster.

I have a program that makes change from an amount. It works fine, but the output is the correct output looped over and over. I have tried everything, but it still doesn't work. For example, a amount of 98 should print
3 quarters
2 dimes
0 nickles
3 pennies
but instead it prints
3 quarters
2 dimes
0 nickels
3 pennies
0 quarters
2 dimes
0 nickels
3 pennies
0 quarters
2 dimes
0 nickels
3 pennies
Why it's doing this?
Code:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int coinscount(int& amount, int value) {
int tracker = 0;
int amountdimes = amount;

I was wondering that why in the below code, the copy constructor is called 2 times.
Code:
class A {
private:
static int count;
int age;
public:
A()
[code].....
I think that when f(a) is called, since I am passing this as value, no copy constructor should be called. The copy constructor should called when the return object "x" is assigned to:
A b = x;
why copy constructor called 2 times?

I create a loop that would repeat itself many times a second? Trying to do extremely basic graphics with a grid and system("cls") every time I run a command, but it still looks very jumpy. I realize system calls are evil. Any way to get rid of this too.

I have a question about SDL and drawing sprites (SDL surfaces). My idea is that the user can create a wall of separate sprites by create one sprite each time in the current mouseX and mouseY position, when the user push down the e-key. The problem is that I have no idea how I could draw the same sprite multiple times without to delete the previous one.
