C++ :: Generate Report Based On Input Received From Text File - User Defined Namespace
Nov 11, 2014Write a program to generate a report based on input received from a text file. Suppose the input text file student_status.txt contains the student’s name (lastName, firstName middleName), id, number of credits earned as follows :
Doe, John K.
3460 25
Andrews, Susan S.
3987 72
Monroe, Marylin

Gaston, Arthur C.
2894 110
Generate the output in the following format :
John K. Doe 3460 25 Freshman
Susan S. Andrews 3987 40 Sophomore
Marylin Monroe 2298 87 Junior
Arthur C. Gaston 2894 110 Senior
The program must be written to use the enum class_level :
enum class_level {FRESHMAN, SOPHOMORE, JUNIOR, SENIOR } ;
and define two namespace globalTypes (tys and fys) for the function :
class_level deriveClassLevel(int num_of_credits) ;
The function deriveClassLevel should derive the class_level of the student based on the number of credits earned.
The first namespace globalType tys should derive the class level based on a two year school policy.
and the second namespace globalType fys should derive the class level based on a four year school policy.
Four Year School Policy:
Freshman 0-29 creditsSophomore 30-59 credits
Junior 60-89 creditsSenior 90 or more credits
Two Year School Policy:
Freshman 0-29 creditsSophomore 30 or more credits
NOTE : use ignore() function with ifstream objects whenever you want to ignore the newline character.
For example :

I did this in parts so I got it working with a four year criteria without the user defined name spaces.

C++ :: Can't Store Different Values Into Vector By User Input
May 4, 2013I can`t seem to store multiple values into my vector when a user keys in an input. Lets say a user inputs 1,2 as the first set and later keys in 3,4.
My vector gets overridden by 3 and 4. I'm trying to pass these values into a function to store them into a vector and use them in the function.

C :: Input Number - How To Store 500 Digits
Oct 30, 2013"Every number has at most 500 digits" under input. 500? How am I supposed to store that? And what if someone multiplies 999 ...(500 times) * 999 ... (500 times) ? I seriously doubt that my computer can store that! Is that just some huge value used to scare people off or is there some sneaky trick that I am unaware of?
I am done with the program, but won't post it, Lets not ruin the fum for ohers...Does that 500 limit also applies to result of operation?So max length of an input number is ~22 digits ? But still, how do I store 500 digits? Array would be a lot of wastage of memory (though I do have 256MB available).

Write a C++ application that asks the user to enter 10 numbers. The program then stores those numbers in an Array. The program should display the Mean , Median, and Mode.
Mean is the average of the 10 numbers.
Median is the average of the 5th and the 6th numbers. (But you have to arrange the numbers in ascending order first using Bubble Sort before calculating the Median.)
Mode is the most frequent number among the 10 numbers.

I have been messing around with this part and struggling I thought I used the namespace to run the if statements with the criteria for the years of school. Feb 10, 2013I was wondering what function was the C++ equivalent for testing to see if a user input is numeric.
I have equivalents in Ruby, Java, Python, VB, VBA, php, but being a novice in C++, I have yet to find one - even with Google.
And I know C++ is such a wonderful language, that its extensive library must have one somewhere - considering it's already 2013!

Oct 2, 2014I'm working my way through some C exercises to get some practice and have hit a wall. I need to use a function to take a number, such as 1, and print out One.Here's what I've got so far:

However, when I run the code and enter "1" the only thing that gets printed to the screen is "(lldb)". I've tried changing it to doing it without variables and just printing "One" but that gave the exact same result.
C :: User Can Input Phone Number In Any Of Formats
Jun 18, 2013I'm having a bit issue with ispunct in my function. The user can input a phone number in any of the formats below:

The program will only print out:

What I am trying to do is accept any integer and parentheses. If the user inputs anything else, the program will display an error message. Right now, parentheses displays an error which is obvious but I'm wondering if there is a way I can allow a parentheses to be entered but not any other symbol. ex: . , : ; " '

C/C++ :: User Input - Number Prime Or Composite?
Mar 8, 2014User will input a number in the range of 2 and 2^63-1 and the program will decide whether it's prime or not by a simple 'YES' or 'NO'.
I figured out a code:

Now this code works for normal inputs but whenever I try it with large primes in tat range, like 987654321987654329 or 9223372036854775783 it does not work />.
I tried to print the values of i to check the limit to which it runs.. and I found it 23697, whose square is 561547809 - nowhere near about the input primes.
