How to do the problem below using loop?

Using loop...

Output the total of the reciprocals of the numbers from 1 to 10:

1/1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + 1/4 ... + 1/10 = 2.928968

C++ :: Adding Up Values Of Dice Rolls In A While Loop

Feb 19, 2013

I'm having a problem adding up the values of the dice rolls in a while loop. The program will only store the last value so how would I get it to store multiples values? Here is my program thus far. I would try an array but we haven't gotten to that yet.

#include <iostream>
#include <cstdlib>
#include <ctime>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int die_1=0, die_2=0, total_score1, total_score2, player1score;
char enter;

[Code] ....

What operators or equation I should use to accomplish this?

C# :: Fibonacci Series - Adding Value In Array Inside While Loop

May 27, 2014

I am making a program to run Fibonacci series. I have created 2 array.

1)- 1st array holds only 0, 1
2)- 2nd array holds other values eg: 1, 2, 3, 5..........etc

I am using while loop to get the febonacci series and storing it in a 2nd array called int[] numbers.

After getting value using while loop, I am joing both the arrays using int[] final = arr.Concat(number).ToArray();

At last, I have used foreach loop to add the febonacci series into the listbox.

The problem I have is that, I cannot able to concat both the arrays. I tried to assign number array at the top of the while loop. so that number variable will be accessible outside the while loop. But I am getting a error.

C :: Adding Two Numbers Taken As Strings

Dec 13, 2014

I was trying to solve a problem that required to add one hundred 50 digit numbers. Since there is no way to hold such a huge number. I read that storing them in strings is the way to go. I was caught midway while trying to do the same.

Here's the source code;

Code:

#include<stdio.h>
#include<string.h>
const char * addTwoStrings(char *number1,char *number2)
}

[code]...

And the text file is this. Code: 123465789 321654987 This isn't the exact huge number, but I wanted to try it out with lower number before trying out with the original huge ones.I am trying to store the numbers in a two-dimensional array. However when I and try to pass the single number as an parameter to the AddTwoStrings() method, It actually passes the entire number as such.

When I pass string[0],string[1] it should pass the first and second number from the files as the two numbers instead of the whole number as such.The function AddTwoStrings() doesn't do anything as of now, I encountered this error when I was testing the code till this part.

C++ :: Adding Reserved Numbers Together

Mar 14, 2013

Calculate the reversed numbers from the input. Reversed number is a number written in arabic numerals but the order of digits is reversed (e.g. 543 reversed would be 345). You need to add two reversed numbers and output their reversed sum. Of course, the result is not unique because any particular number is a reversed form of several numbers (e.g. 21 could be 12, 120 or 1200 before reversing). Thus you must assume that no zeros were lost by reversing (e.g. assume that the original number was 12).

Input

The input consists of N cases (equal to about 10000). The first line of the input contains only positive integer N. Then follow the cases. Each case consists of exactly one line with two positive integers separated by space. These are the numbers you are to reverse and add together.

Output

For each case, print exactly one line containing only one integer - the reversed sum of two reversed numbers (Get the sum of the 2 integers that have been reverses, then reverse that sum also). Omit any leading zeros in the output.

Sample

#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <sstream>
#include <algorithm>
std::string convertInt(unsigned number) {

[Code] ....

Right now I'm thinking that it can't be done without converting the numbers to a string because I have been working on this for days and can't find a answer.

C++ :: Display Arithmetic Sequence After Adding All Numbers

Oct 7, 2013

This code is suppose to display arithmetic sequence after it has to add all the numbers together without a formula.

for example: the starting number is 5, common difference is 3, the term is 9

the sequence would display as: 5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20, 23, 26, 29

the sum is: 153

with my code I've managed to get 8,11

To get the sum, I am restricted to using a "for" loop. For sequence, I am using a while. I am trouble developing the while loop to display the sequence and getting the sum for the for loop.

#include <iostream>
#include <cmath>
#include <stdlib.h>

I have encountered a problem with the for loop that I am using near the end of my code. No matter what I do, it seems that my loop only does the multiplication of b = a*(a-1) and then prints. For example, inputting 5 will result in a print of 20, but the factorial is 120.

C :: Determine How Many Numbers In A Range Are Divisible By Third - Loop

Mar 1, 2013

I've pretty much finished the entire program, except for the actual calculation part.

"Given a range of values determine how many integers within that range, including the end points, are multiples of a third value entered by the user. The user should be permitted to enter as many of these third values as desired and your output will be the sum of total multiples found."

I've defined functions to take user input for the low range, high range and a do-while loop to take as many third inputs as the user wants (terminated by entering -1, as requested by the question)

To actually calculate if they're divisible, I found out that if A%B = 0, then they are divisible, so I thought I would create a loop where each value in the range between A and B is checked against the third value to see if they output a zero.

What I need to end up with is a program that tells the user how many integers are divisible by the numbers in the range, i.e: "Enter the low range value: 335 Enter the high range value: 475 Enter a value to check within the range: 17 Enter a value to check within the range: -1 There are 8 total values that are divisible by the numbers in the range." Going back to my original question, how would I create a loop or something to "check" how many values are equal to zero, and consequently increment a variable for each instance? (This is how I think it should be done)

Code:

#include <stdio.h>
//GLOBAL DECLARATIONS
int getlowR();
int gethighR(int);

C/C++ :: Same Random Numbers Being Created Every Time Loop Goes Around

one of my project involves loop inside loops and creating random numbers. Here is what I have so far:#include <iostream>

#include <string>
#include <cstdlib>
#include <ctime>

so the program will create a random value for the inflow. The idea is that the internal for loop will continue to run until the fill_level of the reservoir, which starts at 0, hits the capacity. The process of simulating how many years (each iteration of the internal for loop representing a year) is to be repeated 10 times by the parent for loop of the water_level simulation for loop.

The problem is that the random number that is supposed to created are the same number. THey are different every time I run it, but they are the same every time the loops repeat to make a new simulation.
