C# :: Action Object - Create New Action When Function Is Called

Dec 3, 2012

consider this code:

Code:
private void DoIf(bool b, Action f)
{
if (b)
f();
}
int x = 0;
bool no = false;
DoIf(no, () => x = 10);

Does the compiler emit code to create a new action when the function is called or only when f() is actually called?

C++ :: Solar System With Key Action For Zoom In / Out

Apr 19, 2013

I have made a complete solar system with key action for zoom in zoom out, moving along x, y, z axes on plus or minus and going up/down/right/left. I am now in a bit of a dilemma. I want to add a text window ( i have made my project in visual studio 2010 in win32 console application) where to put a text like a description of each planet to appear when i hit the left mouse button. E.g. When i click with the left mouse button the Venus planet I want a description to appear in my text window. However I don't know how to put make a text window and how to correctly define the picking methods... for now everywhere i hit the mouse button it appears in to the console that i hit the sun.

My problem: I want to make an application that is going to block the action of some files (It is anticheat files actually).

how do I make code to block the application's action?

Maybe there is another way to do that? I need to use Cheat Engine in game, and anticheat blocks it, so I thought if I'll block the activity of the anticheat it couldn't detect the Cheat Engine...

C :: Create Function That Is Then Called To Calculate Powers

Nov 11, 2014

As I am taking my first steps in C, I study K&R (I guess most of you did the same, right?)

In the introductory chapter about functions (1.7) there is an example showing how to create a function that is then called to calculate powers (b**n). I simplified it to calculate only one given power, 2**5:

Code:

#include <stdio.h>
int power(int m, int n);
main() {
printf("%d", power(2,5));

[Code]....

It will then be called to make the calculation in the above string.

First things first: we already know how to use while(getchar!=EOF) to count characters (K&R chapter 1.5.2) but what if -instead- the input is a specific string? How to "read" it and how to tell my program that the string is finished? And most important: "reading" will be done in the function or in the rest of the body?

C++ :: How To Create A Function That Takes A File Object As A Reference Parameter

Feb 21, 2013

I have a school project in which need to create a function that takes a File Object as a Reference Parameter. Supposedly, it should allow me to read the first piece of data from others separated by a space from a file. The later be able to continue reading from the next piece of data.

I know how to set things up to read from the data file, such as using

Code:

#include <iostream> , and

Code:

ifstream inputFileName;
inputFile.open ("nameOfFile");

I also understand how to pass a variable by reference to a function. But I simply cannot put the two items together!

I tried using

Code:

void getFileInput (ifstream &); //parameter
getFileInput ("nameOfFile") // call
void getFileInput (ifstream &dataFileName)

In the function I used

Code:

ifstream inputFile;
inputFile.open (dataFileName);

I'm just not getting an understanding of this concept!

C/C++ :: Destructor Called Just After Declaring Object?

Jan 29, 2015

Why does the destructor is called just after declaring my object?

// MAIN

int main(void) {
Jucarie j1;
Jucarie j2(j1);
return 0;
}

THE DESTRUCTOR

Jucarie::~Jucarie() {
cout << "Destructor called" << endl;
delete[] material;
material = NULL;
}

I do not have a copy constructor, i just want to use the shallow copy. Why i get Debug Assertion Failed error? If i delete the destructor, all work fine.

I get it, the problem occurs when the material from j1 is deleted right? Because it has already been delete by j2.

C++ :: Keyboard Function That Is Called In Main Function To Make Shape Move

Jan 19, 2013

Ok so I am working on a game and I'm in the process of developing my Player class. Anyways, what I have is a keyboard function that is called in my main function to make a shape move.

void myKeyboardFunction(unsigned char key, int x, int y) {
switch ( key ) {

[Code].....

But when I try to call it, trying to copy my previous method,

glutKeyboardFunc(Player1.playerControls);

I get an error

error C3867: 'Player::playerControls': function call missing argument list; use '&Player::playerControls' to create a pointer to member

I get an error saying it can't convert parameters. I would just like to understand why the arguments become a problem when I make the function a member of my class, when the first method I used is so easy.

C :: How To Create An Object

Oct 31, 2013

I have an assignment that asks me to implement a variant of the classic bouncing balls program.

'Each ball should start off at the top of the screen with a random speed in the x direction. Whenever a ball hits a screen boundary it should bounce off at an angle equal to the impact angle and lose some speed. Eventually each ball should come to a rest at the bottom of the screen. Five seconds after coming to a rest a ball should be removed from the screen.'

'Your code must keep track of objects (balls) by placing the object data structures in a linked list. You need to create your own linked list implementation. Below is a brief description of the object programming interface: CreateObject - Create a new object. The function accepts as input parameters a pointer to the SDL screen, a pointer to a model triangle array, and a variable telling the size of the model triangle array. The function returns a pointer to a new object data structure. The model triangle array specified as input parameter should not be shared across objects. (Not sharing the model triangle array allows e.g. objects to have different colors.)

Perform the necessary memory allocation and copying.DestroyObject - Free object. The function accepts as input parameters a pointer to an object data structure. The function should free all memory allocated to represent the object (memory allocated for the model triangle array and the object data structure itself).

Drawobject - Draw object on screen. The function accepts as input parameters a pointer to an object data structure. The function must draw the object on the screen by calling DrawTriangle on each of the model triangles. Remember to update scale, translation, etc., in each triangle data structure before invoking DrawTriangle.

Hint: Do not make the bouncing algorithm too complex. Bouncing a ball off a vertical or horizontal surface can be accomplished without resorting to calculating impact angles.'

The function I'm stuck at, is the first one - createobject.

My first aim is to get one ball on the screen.

Code:

// Create new object
object_t *CreateObject(SDL_Surface *screen, triangle_t *model, int numtriangles)
{
object_t *object = malloc(sizeof(object_t));
object->model = malloc(sizeof(sphere_model));
object->screen = SDL_Surface;
memcpy(*model, object->model, sizeof(object_t));
return object;
// Implement me
}

This is what I've done so far.

C++ ::  Class Safe Array Type Print Function Not Working When Called

Oct 22, 2013

I've created a function where you can choose any bounds for an array based list (positive or negative, as long as the first position is smaller than the last position). However for some reason when I call the print() function in my application program it doesn't do anything. My print function is technically correct (I still have work to do on the output) but I can't figure out why it wont show anything at all. Below is my header, implementation, and main program files, along with results from running the program.

Header File:

//safearrayType Header File
class safeArrayType {
public:
void print() const;
void insertAt(int location, const int& insertItem);
safeArrayType(int firstPlace=0, int maxPlace = 100);

[Code] ....

ResultsEnter the first bound of yourlist: -3(this was my input)
Enter the last bound of yourlist: 7(this was my input)

Press any key to continue...
