C++ :: Error - Reference To Non Static Function Must Be Called?

So on lines 36 - 39 (The commented out functions) is where I'm sure is causing this error because once I don't comment them out pretty much everywhere Flink or Rlink is used or defined I get this error.
I am modifying a set of static variables inside of the class's member function. The static variables are private. An example of what I'm doing is as below,

I get a compilation error in the function void utilities::parse_details(char* filename)
which says: undefined reference to `utilities::num_nodes'
I am trying to use 'this' pointer but i am confused why 'this' pointer is not available for static member functions.

Error : 'this' is unavailable for static member functions
The below code compiles without error using VS 2012 but with g++ 4.1.2 I get this error:

This is part of a larger program so in reality StringHelper has more static functions but this example does produce the error the same as the code when in the larger program.
To get it to compile under g++ I had to assign the return value from substr() to a string and pass that string to stringToNumeric. Why do I have to do this for g++ and not VS? Do I have something wrong with my template function that g++ is calling out and VS is not?
I'm getting an undefined reference error to a function, and I can't figure out why. I have tried letting code blocks compile the files, I have tried the command line to compile it with the same results.
I looked up the error and found this from [URL]

Meaning / Your code called the function Print, but the linker could not find the code for it in any .o file
Usual Causes
You forgot to link the .o file that contains the function
You misspelled the name of the function
You spelled the name of the function correctly, but the parameter list is different in someway
which seems to be the error I get. I have double checked all 4 and I see nothing.
The code that specifically gives me the error is:

and the class looks like this:

I think everything matches up unless I'm just missing it.

I have deleted all of the objects and recompiled to make sure that everything is in sync. I can't see what the issue is here and I'm not sure what to do next. This code actually worked until I changed the name of the function, so the types are all correct and such. This is the format I use for all external functions ....
The idea of the code is to make a console to parse some commands. And have some commands with arguments and others no. Without the static the program return other error that is...

This code snippet results in "A non-static member reference must be made relative to a specific object". When I make callA() static, this error goes away, but there is problem with aMap.
Ok so I am working on a game and I'm in the process of developing my Player class. Anyways, what I have is a keyboard function that is called in my main function to make a shape move.

I get an error
error C3867: 'Player::playerControls': function call missing argument list; use '&Player::playerControls' to create a pointer to member
I get an error saying it can't convert parameters. I would just like to understand why the arguments become a problem when I make the function a member of my class, when the first method I used is so easy.
I've been trying for more than one month to access a method found in a library called libcocosnas_static.a. I'm using Cocos2d-X version 2.0.4. The library has been used many times by my company to make games using cocos2d-1.0.1-x-0.12.0 without any problem.
This is what I've done: 1- I added the include paths of the library to both eclipse and Android.mk 2- Included the .h file using #include "NASPlatformUtil.h" 3- Added the libcocosnas_static.a file to the proj.androidobjlocalarmeabi folder 4- Added "LOCAL_WHOLE_STATIC_LIBRARIES += cocosnas_static" to the Android.mk file 5- Called the function using: NASPlatformUtil:: openUrl("http://xxx.xxx.com/");
I can right click on the function, click Open Declaration and get it without any problem, but the compiler keeps on giving me that dreaded error...
I am working on this project where I need a function to be called every second. At this time, I am thinking that I have to create a thread but I am clueless on how it will get called every second.

And in the same namespace as this class I have a form that calls it like so:

However, I'm getting the field initializer error on dBase.con. I'm not sure why, but when I call the database from another file (program.cs) it works fine this way.
When I call printStuff, the DerivedClass's function gets called. Now, if I remove the const part from the DerivedClass's printStuff function, we call the BaseClass's printStuff function.

In the introductory chapter about functions (1.7) there is an example showing how to create a function that is then called to calculate powers (b**n). I simplified it to calculate only one given power, 2**5:

First things first: we already know how to use while(getchar!=EOF) to count characters (K&R chapter 1.5.2) but what if -instead- the input is a specific string? How to "read" it and how to tell my program that the string is finished? And most important: "reading" will be done in the function or in the rest of the body?

The problem seems to occur somewhere between lines 662 - 695. And it seems to only happen when the size of the vector reaches 1.
This actually should work, because it is passing address of polymorphisms object.I have tried changing prototype of test in Data.h, but failed.passing object address/pointers in C++.
