Visual C++ :: Java Access Bridge Installation
Sep 26, 2012
I tried installing Java Accesss Bridge for a few hours now. But with no success. The installer from ORACLE does not work (rolls back at the end without error message). Many tries of patching some libs together failed.
What do I need for an application that makes use of JAB. Do I really need some sort of installation or can I simply put some headers and libs together?

I am making an installation program. The set up project I made automatically detected dependencies. Dependencies were one ocx file I am using and some *.msm files. I haven't yet tested the installation program in the target machine.
My problem is that I have no control over the location of dlls installed in the target machine. Those *.msm files, I think
will be installed in the system32 (or wowsystem64?) folder. Do my msi installation program check the version of the dlls
already available in the target machine before overwritting them?
Another way will be to find out the dependencies with "dependency walker" and manually add those dlls to the
application folder of my installation program. But this way will be really difficult one.

I'm building a simple little program for minecraft to reduce the repetitiveness, I'm using getpixel, it's slow, but i only need to grab about 6-12 pixels.
but the problem is, I can get the pixel data if I capture from the entire desktop display, but as soon as I tell it to grab from the active window (wich goes MUCH faster) it doesn't return any colour value's.
I'd rather not have to use getDIBits or program in java or anything since I want to keep it fairly kiss, and if it can't be done, then.. ah well, I'll just grab from the entire desktop, speed isn't to much of an issue, but it'll be a pain to keep the window at the same place.
Code:
#include <Windows.h>
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
// vvv Ignore this, it's just used for retrieving the handle of a window without giving the full window name vvvv
struct results {
[Code] ....

I have been reading up, and it seems that all I need to do to finish up the installation of a library is to add in the search path for the library upon compile time.
Of course, I also read that directly copying the lib files can work too, but that may result in the over-writing of necessary files...
I read a more thorough document on mingw's linking processes and discovered that I could create a folder, install the library in that folder, and add the folder as a search path for mingw (so, basically, all i have to do is install all my libraries under that folder).

I have been poking around with some Java source code that I'd like to port to C++
Here is something I am trying to do
Code:
namespace AStar_NS { //...
class Node {
public:
Node() {
f = 0;
g = 0;
h = 0;
[code]....
Here I just want to compile the code pile and want to know what will be going on inside the debugger later on.The IDE didn't work that much. If I put AStar_NS::Node inside the TimeAStar_NS::Node's methods, the compiler will get confused. If I put TimeAStar_NS::Node there, the code also never compiles.
There are many types of nodes and transitions inside the Java code, so I can't even identify which is which inside the IDE even with IDE. There are many types of namespaces (as I create them to try to pull the code apart in order to comprehend them) And I can't reduce the compile errors down until 20 errors.
(The code is way too complicated, I can't even analyze it, I have to reply on the debugger) I want to know if Node inside the methods should be an instance of TimeAStar_NS::Node or AStar::Node or others. Should I create a more generic type of Nodes and Transitions above AStar_NS::Node and TimeAStar::Node. I know C++ and Java are quite different and difficult to port sometimes.

I am working on a project in a group at a university. We are creating a GUI in Java where the user can enter parameters. Then we want to be able to pass these parameters to a function inside our C/C++ program, that does the rest. How do I do this? So far I have managed to call a simple helloworld-function by using JNI, dll and a javah tool that create a header file from a java file. I define the helloworld-function in C and call it from Java.
Java file:
package helloworld;
public class HelloWorld {
private native void print();
public static void main(String[] args) {
[Code] ....
My problem is that I do not know how to call the helloworld-function with parameters. I guess that this is a special case when using JNI and a . dll. How do I pass simple char- and int-arguments from the Java class to the helloworld-C-function?

We had few functions which were written in Java, and we are now moving to C# .Net.
Instead of re-writing the code in .net, I want to know if there is any possibility to use those functions in .Net as is. (calling java functions).

I have:
int _tmain(int argc, char* argv[])
{
printf("drive name: %s
", argv[1]);
It displays only the first character of the first argument on the command line.
Yet the following works as expected:
static char* myArg[2] = {"first arg","second arg"};
printf("drive name: %s
", myArgv[1]);
That displays the entire string "second arg".
So what's wrong with my reference to argv[1]?

I mainly code plugins for Cinema 4D .... I used to code in COFFEE (a javascript like language, only for Cinema 4D) and python. But, recently, I started coding in C++.
I start my development on a Mac, using Xcode. But then, to generate Windows versions of my plugins, I take my source code to Visual Studio, perform the necessary adjustments, and create Win32 and Win64 code.
Lately, I was trying to devise a scheme to protect my plugins from being pirated. Yes, I know it is virtually impossible, but if I could make it harder for hackers to crack my plugins, it would be fine.
I made it work fine in python and in C++, but only in Xcode.
In Windows it is difficult. I only need to be able to access a username/password protected folder in my server and check if there is a file there. I don't even need to read the content of the file (but it would be nice to be able to do that too).
I started out using the cURL library but it is so complicated to make it work. I need 32 and 64 bit versions. Then I also have to include three .dll files in the folder of the application (that means that I would have to ask to the people who buy my plugins to copy three additional files to the main application folder... not a good thing )
So, any way to access a username/password protected folder on the net? (the username/password is generated in my code so, of course, I know what are the username/password to provide).
Also, I would need a way for the code to be completely self-contained, meaning that the users would not have to manually add any other files (libraries), besides the folder containing my plugin.

I have been given a task to debug a C++ project. I have not written a single line of code in this project!!
This project executes for about 5 minutes without problem. Then it ends with an exception "Unhandled exception at (some .dll name) in EITos.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location "
Now every time I execute the program. The error is from a different dll. Sometimes it is a dll created by other programmers, sometimes it is related to QT. So I don't think this is a code problem. Is there any project setting that would affect this?

I need to be able to disable the items on a CCheckListBox but I can't change the code that calls AddString. I know I can use the CCheckListBox::Enable function to disable an item if I have an index but I don't have the index which would be provided by AddString.
I've tried intercepting the LB_ADDSTRING message and then looping through the items in the control but the string has not been added at this point so the last item in the list is never disabled.
I used Spy++ to see what messages were being sent and I noticed that LB_GETTEXT was sent so I tried intercepting this message (ugly hack) but this caused my app to hang - I assume because of the number of times the message is sent. Is there a way to disable the items?

I would like to copy one bmp file to another using plain fstream (none 3-rd party library). I've managed to come up with something but I keep getting error:
Unhandled exception at 0x504A3442 (msvcr120d.dll) in ConsoleApplication1.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x00380000.
when i try to write the content of the bmp files not the header, namely error occurs in this line:
Code : ofs_differential.write((char*)&picture, (bfh_warm.bfSize - bfh_warm.bfOffBits));
Also i am not sure if i am doing it in a right way, meaning that even after solving this error i will copy the bmp file successfully.
Code:
// ConsoleApplication1.cpp : Defines the entry point for the console application.
//
#include "stdafx.h"
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
using namespace std;
struct BITMAPfileHEADER {
unsigned short bfType;
