C/C++ :: Maze Solver Is Not Backtracking Correctly?

Mar 15, 2014

I'm working on a homework problem where we are given a class of functions to traverse a maze and must use those functions to recursively find the end.

The problem I'm having is when the function backtracks it doesn't reset the whole path it came from.

Here is my function that I have created

void solveMaze(Maze M, int path[][MAX])
{

C/C++ :: How To Make Object Move In A Maze

What c++ code can be used to make an 'X' move through a maze. I have some code, but I'm not sure where to go from there. I have divided the program into three files, A header file, a main file and a .cpp implementation file.

In my implementation file I have:

C++ :: Read And Write Multiple Class Objects From File - Fstream Won't Work Correctly

Apr 28, 2014

So I have a small program which is supposed to write and read multiple objects from a file, but for some reason it doesn't write the information when I use "fstream" to create the object from the fstream class, but it does when I use "ofstream". Also, it doesn't read the information from the file no matter if I use "fstream" or "ifstream". I watched a video where this exact code worked just fine, but it just won't work when I run it. I'm using Dev C++ 4.9.9.2, I don't know if that has anything to do with it, I also tried it with Code::Blocks, didn't work either.

Here's the code.

#include <iostream>

C :: How To Work With 2D Arrays And Image File

Jun 3, 2013

This is the first time I'm working with 2d arrays and I have to read the pixels in the input file, then store the pixel from the input image file into the array. And there is a maximum width and height of 500. If the file's too big, then I have to print an error message. Also, my array should only be filled up to the dimensions of the input image file.

I have the code for everything up to that point but I'm not too sure how to approach this. I've defined max_width and height at the top of my file as 500 and I'm thinking of putting this part of the program into a new helper function. But I'm not completely sure how to start, I do know that the array would look something like this though:

int array[max_height][max_width].

1) the syntax of printing the error message/storing the values and 2) the values for my pixels in the input file are all in a single column; each value after the ppm format header is on a new line.

what the input file looks like:

Code:
P3
493 401
255
71
0
0
76
4
5
87
11

NOTE: First three lines are the header information for the ppm format; the numbers that follow go like this: red, green, blue, red, green, blue, etc.

Visual C++ :: CFileDialog Does Not Display File Name Correctly

Sep 13, 2013

I haven't seen this before but on Windows 7 Home Professional and VC 2012 in one particular app, a CFileDialog displays only the rightmost 11 characters plus the extension of the default file name. The rest of the name is there and you can scroll left in the file name edit to display it all, but initially the text is shifted left so it doesn't all display.

Code:
CFileDialog dlg(TRUE, "csv", strFileName, OFN_OVERWRITEPROMPT | OFN_HIDEREADONLY, "Comma Seperated Values Files (*.csv)|*.csv|All Files (*.*)|*.*||");

strFileName can contain anything and it will do it. Even a string literal will do it.

Visual C++ :: Writing Structure To CSV File Won't Work

Jan 23, 2013

I need to compute some values, place them in a structure containing two vector variables, and save them in a CSV file. Right now, I can't even generate a file. I wrote the structure definition and file writing code in a header file (after first borrowing it). I have a "button" that is supposed to trigger all of the activity. I'll attach the code below:

HEADER

#ifndef EINSTEIN_H
#define EINSTEIN_H
#include <stdio.h>
struct SizeAll{
int year;
double R;
};
int write_to_file(int count, struct SizeAll *data, char const *fileName)

Visual C++ :: Fill Color In Shapes Using FLTK Doesn't Work For Circles

Aug 28, 2014

I installed FLTK 1.3.X from [URL] on my visual studio 2012 compiler and use PPP book for C++ programming [URL]. My problem is about filling a Shape in.

Code:
#include <Simple_window.h>
using namespace Graph_lib;
int main() {
Simple_window win(Point(100,100), 1000, 600, "Binary_tree");
Graph_lib::Circle c(Point(200,200),50);
c.set_color(Color::red);

[code]....

When I run the program, All three Shapes are drawn on window but only the Rectangle is filled in! Why? set_color works for the three and apparently the set_fill_color is defined for all Shapes and it too should work but why it doesn't for Circle and Ellipse?

Note. Use recursion for solving this problem.

Input:
First line contains only one number N (3 <= N <= 10).The number that describes the size of the square maze.
On the next N lines maze itself is inputed ('.' - empty cell,'*' - wall).
And the last line contains two numbers - the row and column of the cell in the room those area you need to find.It is guaranteed that given cell is empty and that the maze is surrounded by walls on all sides.

Output:
Output only one number - total amount of empty cells in the selected room.

C++ :: Shortest Path Maze Solver Algorithm

Mar 26, 2014

I'm working on a maze solving program. So far I got the program to solve a maze using the recursive backtracking algorithm. I represent the maze as vector<vector<Square>> where Square is an enum that contains the kind of square (empty, wall, etc.). I use a class Point that contains 2 ints which are used for subscripting the vector of vectors. I have a Point begin and Point end. Now I want the program to solve the maze using the shortest path. I can either use the A* algorithm, Dijkstra's algorithm, or the breadth first search algorithm.
