How to stalk a random alpha letter in order in a minimum possible way.. and write the cases which the container can be stalked.

for example.. ACMICPC can be a store in three stalks.

ACC

Another example... CBACBACBACBACBA can have three stalks

C++ ::  2D Arrays - Creating Virtual Creatures By Storing A Letter Into Random Position In Array

So first I have to display a 2D array with all 0s, which is pretty easy.

So this displays

Next, this is where it gets confusing. I have to create a virtual creature by storing a letter into a random position in the array (the array can be up to 20x20 in size). Then make a function that searches the array for creatures, so it would search for that character. When it finds a creature, it should randomly decide to either move the creature to an adjacent position, or have it stay where it is. After, it should ask the user to create a new creature, or quit.

So how would I go about adding & modifying the current code to achieve what is listed above?

C++ :: Alpha Zone Just Won't Be Alpha

I found a targa loader that works great and implemented it in my code.

But for some reason, the alpha region of my texture , just won't be alpha when I load the Texture in my code.

If I make a texture that is a full purple colored rectangle, and carve out the central part with an alpha zone, in-game the quad is all full purple, instead of having the central part being transparent.

I tried the following code too, and it doesn't work, I don't understand

Draw Function, basically draws a Quad and applies the texture to it.

I'm just trying to get textures with alpha to work, I usually work with targas, so thats why I got a targa loader.

What's wrong with my shuffle function? It shuffles some songs, yet completely gets rid of others.

I will keep this simple as I have the code written for my testing software program, I just want to add a feature of randomly generating the answer choice output order, I do not want to randomly output the full questions, but instead the choices (answers to the question), for example =

As you can see I would like to output the answers, choices randomly as in answer choice 3 will appear at the top instead of 1. and so on, it doesn't matter if the numbers move with the txt as the numbers beside the

I want to use a new color for BaseColor in iTextSharp.

I can easily set a new color using RGB values from 0 to 255.

However, if I want to adjust the alpha value (and I know alpha ranges from 0 to 1), I can't make the alpha 0.5 because it's not an integer in the definition of BaseColor.

public BaseColor(int red, int green, int blue, int alpha);

So I can set my BaseColor like below:

static BaseColor newColor = new BaseColor(192, 192, 192);

but I can't use a non-int value for alpha. How can I easily convert double alpha values to integer values? What would be the range for alpha in int values and how do I, e.g., set the alpha value to 0.5 in int values?

EDIT: btw, I found online something like this: int alpha = (pixel >> 24). I don't understand why 24 and how can I break that into chunks I understand?

I am new to c++. I am writing a program that reads in a text file and gives a count of how many times each letter appeared in the file. I got it to read the text file and do the letter count. B

X = 102
Y = 126
Z = 165
etc...

THAT IS WORNG

The sample output should be

A = 102
O = 93
etc...

I got it to sort from lowest to highest for the frequency, but cant seem to get the appropriate letter assigned to it.

I need to count how many times letter appears in a text. I know that for default letters from 'a' to 'z' and from 'A' to 'Z' there is an interval. But I need also Lithuanian letters, such as ž,č,ę. I wrote this method: (it accepts char code and checks whether that char is a letter)
