my program wont output any information to the text file that I have specified it just creates it but it leaves it blank

When I run my code however, it doesn't get past shampoo and will continue to add shampoo to the total cost infinitely. How can I change the code to produce the proper information?

I am trying to parse a text file that contains information and i cant seem to get started. For example, the text file looks like this:
idx=929392, pl= 12, name= someperson
age=19
state=ma
status=n/a

state=ma

I want to parse the name and age into another text file like this format:

possibly include other attributes next to the age like idx?
Perhaps my original wording on this was confusing so I will ask a different way.

I was trying to make a program in C that could take Personality Information from the user and store it in a text file. Then, when asked, could compare the results to other entries in the so called "data-base" and tell which is the best match. I tried a whole lot but couldn't think of a proper way.

I am working on binary files in turbo c++ 3.5 and i want to create a library program. I want to add information about books in a binary file and do functions such as: Search and replace, delete a record, and etc.
I do this functions but i have 2 problems: 1. For example when i add 6 records about books to file, BooksReport function cant show all records and for example just show 4 or 5 records and when i search records, from 5 records, for example i just found 3 or 2 records. 2.When i search and replace a word on file, all records thats before this edited record, will be deleted.

Bit of a problem, I'm trying to output the data from my code into a particular format to a text file. The format is

[URL] when I try to write my output to a file. I am building a life insurance premium calculator with c++. What my calculator does is read in a text file called "policies.txt" containing a number of different policies. For example:
Pol1 M N 20 100000 1 .04 99
Pol2 F S 30 100000 1 .05 99
Pol3 M S 72 750000 1 .03 99
Pol4 F N 45 1000000 1 .05 99
And using this, it creates a single premium. Once the calculator calculates the premium of each policy, I want it to write out the premium amount of each policy to a textfile called "output.txt". The problem is that when I check my "output.txt" file, only the premium for the last policy shows up. It only reads:
Premium for Pol4 is 220384
When I want it to read:
Premium for Pol1 is 14101.6
Premium for Pol2 is 14221.2
Premium for Pol3 is 582391
Premium for Pol4 is 220384
How come only the last policy is showing up? and is there any way to make all four policies appear in my output text file? Here is my code:

how I can make my output only have 2 decimal places because I want it to be a monetary value. In my code I used this:

cout.precision(2);
which worked well at first because on my command prompt screen the numbers had two decimal places and looked liked this:

However, I also have the program outputting to a textfile called "output.txt" and when I opened this text file the numbers only had one or no decimal places.

How come the code for two decimal places is working for my output to command prompt but not my output to the text file?

I'm supposed to read a text file and display it in the output. I have it down except my formatting. I just cannot get it to just skip one line rather than multiple. I know why though because my char has a max of 11 and if I put a character lets say mango, it is going to fill in the rest with white spaces. It's supposed to display like this:

But instead I get something like this

Have everything working fine as far as input and functions.. I am supposed to output the information as a table. I started to write a void function in order to complete this task. I know how to output the information if i were to have an array for the months, but how to display the months when I am using a switch statement.

The first print option [printf("%s", url)] gives the url output as [URL] .... which on being manually pasted in any web-browser gives the correct output but the program fails to give the output.
I used to use OutputDebugString, and not using it now because it only allows to strings to be outputted, are there any methods that I can dump virtually anything to the console?

One of my class assignments is to create a program that receive a .txt file containing a students name and their grades as follows:

The number of students is unknown until run time. You have to take those grades and average them weighing the first (4) at 10% a piece and the last (2) at 30% each.
Then return an output file with the students name and their letter grade A,B,C,D,F based on their computed score. In addition, on screen it needs to display the average scores for each Q1, Q2, etc. as well as the minimum and maximum for each test on the screen. I am having a hard time in assigning the scores to a variable so that they can then be computed as an average and then used to determine a letter grade.
