C/C++ :: Read All Song Titles From A Text File - Randomly Select And Output?
Apr 19, 2015
So far I have managed to sort songs by their string length in main. The void function is there because i learned how to create it, but it's not being used because I dont know how to use it.
Expanding on main, how would I go about selecting a random song from the array?
#include <fstream>
#include <iomanip>
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
struct Song {
string song;
Ok here I have a program that reads a word from a text file randomly and matches it with the definition. The user has to guess what the word is according to the definition.
I'm having trouble with my for loop, I'm not getting any errors. But I just know something is off.
using namespace std; int main(){ int number; int count = 0; int numOfGuess = 0;
[Code] ...
This is words.txt:
apple#the usually round, red or yellow, edible fruit of a small tree boat#a vessel for transport by water horse#a solid-hoofed plant-eating domesticated mammal with a flowing mane and tail, used for riding television#a system for transmitting visual images and sound that are reproduced on screens soup#a liquid dish, typically made by boiling meat, fish, or vegetables, etc. bottle#a container, typically made of glass or plastic and with a narrow neck barber#a person who cuts hair toast#sliced bread browned on both sides by exposure to radiant heat radar#a system for detecting the presence, direction, distance, and speed of aircraft, ships, and other objects red#of a color at the end of the spectrum next to orange and opposite violet
I'm supposed to read a text file and display it in the output. I have it down except my formatting. I just cannot get it to just skip one line rather than multiple. I know why though because my char has a max of 11 and if I put a character lets say mango, it is going to fill in the rest with white spaces. It's supposed to display like this:
Mango Strawberry Grapes
But instead I get something like this
Mango
Melon
Grapes
I am using isspace but it's not working.
//source code
#include <iostream> #include <iomanip> #include <cstdlib> #include <cmath> #include <fstream> using namespace std; class CFile
I am trying to select 3 questions randomly from a string array and create another array with the randomly selected questions then display them in labels.
As you can see in the code I have used Array.Clear method to remove the selected question from the array to prevent duplicate questions being selected. For some reason this is not working! The "Randomly" selected question is ALWAYS the 5th element [4] of the randomQuestions array and this element is duplicated for each iteration of the loop.
public void shuffleQuestions() { string questionselected; string[] randomQuestions = { "What is the speed limit from the time you pass an Accident sign until you have passed the crash site?", "What must you do at a red traffic light?", "What is the maximum possible speed limit on the open road?",
I want to select three columns from my text file i.e. Empl No, Start Date and Created Date. After selecting this, I want to insert the data into a database.
I have attached a copy of the text file.
I have the following code so far:
if (File.Exists(filename)) { string[] lines = File.ReadAllLines(filename); for (int y = 0; y < lines.Length; y++) { Console.WriteLine(lines[y].ToString()); }
How do i select specific details for each employee
I have been given an assignment to make a code to read some text nd display all the words nd the number of times they appear in another file or as output without displaying the repeating words. I made the code but its not giving any output.
I want to highlight selected text in a wpf textbox while the textbox is not focused. In my application, my textbox never gets focus, and every key input is done manually. I was wondering if there is a way to highlight the selected text when the textbox is not focused?
I have code that reads an input file and generates an output file .For reading the input file we have a xml file.If there is an error while reading or writing the output file the an errored file is generated. But in the errrored file the fields are not coming as in accordance with the reader xml . They are coming randomly . In the module for reading and writing the errored file list is being used . What should be done to write in the errored file as the reader xml fields.

I know this is how you read from a file. I also want to print my output to the same name of the file plus ".txt". So if my file is called "text" I want to print it to a file called "text.txt".
The Objective Of This Program Is To Create A File To Write Text And Read Back The File Content. To Do That I Have Made Two Function writeFile() To Write And readFile() To Read.The readFile() function works just fine but writeFile() doesn't.
How writeFile() function Works? when writeFile() function Execute It Takes Characters User Type And When Hit Enter(ASC|| 10) It Ask "More?(Y/N)" That Means What User Want? Want To Go Next Line Or End Input?
If "Y" Than Inputs Are Taken From Next Line Else Input Ends.
But The Problem Is When Program Encounters ch==10 It Shows "More?(Y/N)" And Takes Input In cmd variable.If cmd=='Y' I Mean More From Next Line Than It Should Execute Scanf Again To Take ch I Mean User Input.But Its Not!!! Its Always Showing "More?(Y/N)" Again And Again Like A Loop.
Code: #include <stdio.h> void writeFile(void); void readFile(void); int main(){
I am writing a simple file/text parser to read a config file for some code I am working on. It's dead simple and not particularly smart but it should get the job done. The code reads a config file:
Here is where it gets wierd. You'll notice that there is an unused variable (filepath) in the config struct. This variable is not referenced or used anywhere in the code, ever. Yet if I comment out the declaration of char filepath[1024], the code segfaults partway through the read_config() function.
My best guess is that there is a buffer overflow elsewhere and it just so happens that the memory allocated for filepath happened to be there to catch it up until now, but I can't work out where it might be happening. With the declaration commented out, the read_config() function gets as far as reading the "padding" variable before it crashes. Yet when the declaration is there, then all the variabled are read correctly and everything seems to work.
[URL] when I try to write my output to a file. I am building a life insurance premium calculator with c++. What my calculator does is read in a text file called "policies.txt" containing a number of different policies. For example:
Pol1 M N 20 100000 1 .04 99 Pol2 F S 30 100000 1 .05 99 Pol3 M S 72 750000 1 .03 99 Pol4 F N 45 1000000 1 .05 99
And using this, it creates a single premium. Once the calculator calculates the premium of each policy, I want it to write out the premium amount of each policy to a textfile called "output.txt". The problem is that when I check my "output.txt" file, only the premium for the last policy shows up. It only reads:
Premium for Pol4 is 220384 When I want it to read:
Premium for Pol1 is 14101.6 Premium for Pol2 is 14221.2 Premium for Pol3 is 582391 Premium for Pol4 is 220384
How come only the last policy is showing up? and is there any way to make all four policies appear in my output text file? Here is my code:
which worked well at first because on my command prompt screen the numbers had two decimal places and looked liked this:
Premium for Pol1 is $14101.62 Premium for Pol2 is $14221.16 Premium for Pol3 is $582390.50 Premium for Pol4 is $220384.49
However, I also have the program outputting to a textfile called "output.txt" and when I opened this text file the numbers only had one or no decimal places.
Premium for Pol1 is $14101.6 Premium for Pol2 is $14221.2 Premium for Pol3 is $582391 Premium for Pol4 is $220384
How come the code for two decimal places is working for my output to command prompt but not my output to the text file?
So I am writing this code that analyzes a file called "analysis.txt" and prints out in an ouput file (called "report.txt") the results of the analysis, i.e.,(the frequency of all alphabet letters present in the file).
I am having trouble with outputing on the file2.
here is what I have:
Code:
#include<iostream> #include<fstream> using namespace std; ifstream file1;
[Code]....
I tried to lose the "<<" after the file 2, but it's still giving me an error. how to output a void function on a text file?
I have a .txt file which I want to read from and then write a new text file, this time with sorted lines. It is easy to sort one value, but what about sorting entire lines based on one value?
I want to sort the lines based on the FIRST value.
My professor wants me to write a program that will read from a dat file, and produce an output on the screen based on the file. I don't understand why I am getting this error. I suspect it has something to do with the number of characters I've told it to read.
#include<iostream> #include<iomanip> #include<fstream> #include<assert.h> #include<string> using namespace std; using namespace System; struct TStudent { string month[10];
[Code] .....
I noticed I had a 2 beside girl, after I removed it, it still didn't fix my problem.
