May 3, 2015I have a project that I am working on and I have gotten stuck. I am getting a couple errors and would like to see how I can complete the program. Not very long of a program at that. My instructions are:
Write a program to calculate averages. Create a method named ReadData that will load a two dimensional array, named scoresArray, with the following data from a file:

ReadData will have one argument, the scoresArray.
Create a method named DisplayAverages that will display the emplyee number (number starting 1324, 4356 etc) and the average of the three test grades. DisplayAverages will have one argument, the scoresArray. Your output should closely resemble the following.

Round averages to one decimal place. Passing arguments is important for this program. No global variables are allowed, except for the streamReader and the streamWriter. The scoresArray must be declared in Main and passed as an argument to the methods ReadData and DisplayAverages.

C++ :: Adding Employee Names In Function Arranged Program
May 13, 2014The program that I have written below is working. It calculates a number of payroll type variables and most recently the net pay average (All this is working 100%).
My problem is that I need to add first and last employee names to the program but every time I do this I end up ruining the working program. I've successfully added first and last names to similar programs in the past(ones that make use of an array and while loop) but never to a program that uses functions (I always have problems doing this).
My question is what codes do I use to add a first and last name variable and where do I put those codes within my program so it runs/displays correctly.
I think the coding must be similar to what I've used in the past charr and of course firstname[i] and lastname[i] lines.

C/C++ :: Overtime And Payroll Calculations
Apr 11, 2014When you execute my code you'll notice the regular pay for the first example will calculate to $500 when it is only supposed to calculate to $400. I'm also having a problem adding up the totals of the regular pay and overtime pay to get a total payroll which is displayed in one cout statement. 95% of my code is correct, I'm just having these two issues. To make it more clear hear is my assignment:
The regular working hour for an employee is 40 hours a week. Sometimes employees work over time. When the employee works 40 or less hours, the regular pay is calculated as number of hours worked times the hourly rate. When the employee works over time i.e. beyond 40 hours then the employee's pay has two components a) regular pay (40 hours X hourly rate), and 2) overtime pay (the overtime hours beyond 40 X time and half of the hourly rate).

C++ :: Program Is Not Calculating Sums Correctly?
Jun 20, 2014I am getting this weird error when calculating sums. Here is what my program does: it generates two random numbers and then randomly puts either an addition or subtraction sign between the two and then I am asked to enter what the correct answer for that question is. But on some of the subtraction questions when I give the answer it says I got it wrong after which the program shows the right answer. What's confusing is that the answer the computer calculates is the same that I entered. Anyways the complete program and a screenshot of the console window which shows the error are below. The function in question here is decAddSub at line 54. The error is shown in the first sum in the output window. It doesn't affect addition problems and only affects some of the subtraction problems.

May 5, 2014I am having trouble calculating the median and mode in a program that I am writing. When I run the program, lets say there are 5 students being surveyed. The input is as follows, Student #1 sees 2 movies, student #2 sees 6,student #3 sees 5 movies, student #4 sees 2 movies, and student #5 sees 1 movie. However, for the median, I get 5, because that is at element 2, and thus midway through the count, so the program interprets that number as the median. For the mode, even though 5 is repeated twice, the program displays that there was no mode, or displays "-1" (indicating no mode). Here is my code:

I don't have a printf yet for total gross, but right now I am just trying to tackle the input. Obviously I am not doing it right because although gcc complier is not giving errors the program is not ending when I type 'q' (sentinel issue) or when I reach 6 employees. C++ :: Employee Database - Bizarre Error With If Statement
Dec 21, 2014I have written a program that stores employees in a database object. You can Add, hire, fire, promote, demote, and display employees. The program uses an interface, a database class, and an employee class with member functions.
The strange behavior is in my switch statement in interface.cpp. I have a '#' that represents a command line. Add and Display functions are ok, but if I hire, fire, promote or demote. It will display '##' for the next input. I ran the debugger and after hire/fire/promote/demote is called, the first if-statement goes to 'else' and I'm trying to figure out why.
Note: main() calls mainMenu() to run the program
