I am trying to print a specific line from a textfile

In my calculator, I am trying to make it so that you put enter 1 to add, 2 to subtract, 3 to multiply, and 4 to divide. I am facing the issue of making it so that you must enter a number, however instead of it being any number, it must be 1, 2, 3, or 4, and if it is not any of those numbers, you must re-enter the number. Here is a little snippet of my code:

C# :: Sending Input To Specific Window

I have some experience in C# and choose the project of a "rapidfire script". It is a program, which shoot rapidly in a FPS by sending a "left-mouse-button-click" over and over again while the "real" left mouse-button is down.

Now, I tried multiple ways of sending the left mouse button but none of them worked the way I wanted them to. I tried SendMessage, PostMessage and mouse_event. One of them made the window unresponsive, another only pressed the mouse button while I was still moving the mouse and another didn't work at all.

I know a script which does exactly that and is coded in AutoHotKey. AHK is open-source but since I am not familiar with C++, it is very hard for me to understand what exactly is going on here:

C++ :: Looping User Input For Specific Data Type

Here's my code so far:

The code, when run, prompts the user to input an integer like this:

Ok, so the code prompts the user to enter an integer for each of the 3 persons and then increments the "Day" and so on... When the user enters a negative value (-1, -2, etc.), the loop is broken and the program ends. Alright, everything is hunky-dory so far. 2 things which I can't figure out.

1. when the user doesn't enter anything and just hits return, the cursor drops a line and is still awaiting an input but doesn't show the prompt "Andy :>", for example. How can I get it to repeat the last prompt when the user doesn't enter anything? Like:

etc.

2. When the user enters a letter or a special character, the program blows up. How can I correct this?

I've tried changing the data type for the variable used for the input, tried using getline, get, etc. With my current beginner knowledge, I'm missing something. So how can I get this to work?

The program should allow only integers to be entered, while allowing a negative number to trigger the loop to break or the program to end, and while re-prompting the last person if the user entered an invalid input.

I'm doing an exercise that prints all input lines that are longer than 80 characters. I rather not use any libraries so I decided to write my own function that counts characters to use it in my main program. However when integrate things my function returns zero all the time.

Using cin.sync() works great so far, but my program still breaks if you copy something with multiple lines into the console.

However, if you were to copy this:

And if you press enter one more time:1

Program background: Ticket Sales Details You will sell tickets in advance and at the door. Prices for buying in advance and at the door will be given. Also, the total number of tickets sold in advance will be given. Each guest will have a unique number. If there are n tickets sold in advance, then these guests will be numbered 0 through n-1. As the event starts, requests to buy tickets at the door may be made and these guests will be numbered sequentially, starting at the lowest unassigned number. The maximum number of guests will be 1000. The first line of the file contains the following three values, separated by spaces: Cost of the presales tickets (in dollars), Cost of the tickets at the door (in dollars), and the number of presale tickets. The first two values will be positive real numbers to two decimal places and the last will be a positive integer.

The second line of the file will contain one positive integer representing the number of auction items followed by a positive real value to two decimal places (at most) representing the minimum bid increment, in dollars. The first value is guaranteed to be 1000 or less and the second will be in between 1 and 50, inclusive.

The third line of the file will contain all the prices of the auction items, in dollars, separated by spaces, in order. Thus, the first price is the price of item 0, the next price is the price of item 1, and so on. These values will be real numbers represented to up to 2 decimal places.

The fourth line of the file will contain the three following positive integers pertaining to the raffle: the number of raffle tickets available, the cost of a raffle ticket in dollars, and the number of raffle prizes. (It's strange to have raffle tickets that don't cost a whole number of dollars.)

The fifth line of the file will contain each of the values of the raffle items, in dollars, separated by spaces, in order. Thus, the first price is the price if item 0, the next price is the price of item 1, and so on. These values will be real numbers with upto 2 decimal places.

The sixth line of the file will contain ten positive integers representing the number of each of the drinks 0 through 9, in order, that are in stock.

The seventh line of the file will contain ten positive real numbers with upto 2 decimal places representing the price of each of the drinks 0 through 9, in order.

The eighth line of the file will contain a single positive integer, numEvents, representing the number of events that occur at the charity ball. These events are split into two groups: actions by guests at the ball and awards given (raffle, auction, person, totalrevenue). All of the actions precede all of the awards. You will produce exactly one line of output for each event described. Here are the formats of each event that could occur:

If a patron buys a ticket at the door, a command will be on a line by itself:

BUY TICKET k

where k is a positive integer indicating the number of tickets bought at the door. These guests will be numbered as previously mentioned. You are guaranteed that the total number of tickets bought, including presales, will not exceed 1000. This is what I have so far and I cannot figure out why it wont calculate the total revenue. I am not completely sure if it is even accessing the if statement in main.

so I wrote this code in class today and I'm almost done but I need to come up with some sort of equation to add up all the total values. The problem is I am reading data off a txt file so it's all being read as one thing. I don't know how to get each specific value and add them all together. This is my code so far.

I end up multiplying the amount by the price to get the total value as shown in the code above. Now I just don't know how to add the total value of each item to get the total overall value. Also I haven't used invTotal because I want that to be the overall total.

I'm trying to make a program that allows the user to input an arbitrary amount of numbers and finding the largest of all the inputs but I keep having problems with the output.

And regardless of what numbers I enter, I always get the output of 10. Also I got the EOF idea from my textbook so if there is a better way of doing this I'd like to hear it. I don't know any clear ways that looks nice to end the while loop when the user doesn't have any more numbers to enter.

Well, I have a .txt file that contains, together with a few characters, columns of values that I want to save in different files like is written in the program (file 1, file2, file3 - a with x, b with y, c with z). BUT, I don't want the values from the lines with the saying "interpolated_vector" to be printed in any of the three files.

What I have is the code below, that has the code that creates the three new files with the columns of values that I want. It is working fine!

I am trying to read lines from a CSV file and put the values into vectors. The CSV contains a large amount of data and I would like the program to only read certain lines from the CSV into the vectors. An example of the data is below. In my code the user inputs a secid. I would then like the code to only read lines from the csv where the secid matches what the user inputs. The secid's are also not in order so I can't just use a while loop.

C :: Add More Student Information To The Specific Txt File?

I'm trying to add more student information to the specific txt file. I did struct my student information and separated it with an array with max size of 200.

The inside of my current file looks like

Toshi
Aka
Nonal
Donald

The first one represent student[0] and next one is student[1] and so on till student[199]. Right now, only 4 space is occupied, which means the array has information till student[3] but not from student[4] (I guess it has null condition).

What I want to do is, I want to add a new student information to student[4] and till student[199] once at each time.

So, my prompt will look like
Would like to add a new student? Y/N
(if yes goes to below statement and exit if NO)
Hi. Please enter the information of new student. ___________
Student added. Please press any key to continue.

If the key is pressed, it goes back to my initial prompt and continues till I press N.

I sure I'm not using for loop to do this thing, because I'm adding student name one by one.

However, the array is already occupied by other student name till student[3] so, I want to add a new student information to student[4] (I don't want to overwrite the current information). And if student[4] is occupied, then [5] and so on.

This code is working totally fine. Right now, I'm trying to update a specific data from the student info. Let's say I'm trying to update my student number of Daniel. So, in this case, I want to replace 6744590 to some other student number. I think I have to use fseek() or rewind() and use fputs() but, I don't know how I should decide where to look.
