C :: Function That Scans In Two Sets Of Coordinates
Nov 5, 2013
Night now I'm working on part of a function that scans in two sets of coordinates. Is there a way I can scan both sets of coordinates in with the same scanf?
ex. scanf("%d%d%d%d," &destroyer_1, &destroyer_2, &destroyer_3, &destroyer_4)
but that didn't work...
Code:
printf("What are the first coordinates for destroyer:
");
scanf_s("%d%d", &destroyer_1, &destroyer_2);
gameboard[destroyer_1][destroyer_2] = 'd';
printf("What are the second coordinates for destroyer:

How can I declare a set of strings that i want to be ordered by a boolean function Comp? Like the one you would write in
sort(v.begin(), v.end(), comp);
I tried
set<string, Comp> S;
but it doesn't work
And the same question for priority queues, can you specify the function you want your elements to be sorted by?

I'm currently writing a program and a portion of it needs to have a function that computes the result of a formula for two sets of inputs. It then has to calculate and display the difference between the two results.
I have code that takes the input from the user and converts it to the type that I need. In this case we are talking about latitudes and longitudes that will be converted to degrees, then to xyz coordinates.

I have a problem with a program..I wanna make a program for scan the computer screen.I mean for example there is a video which shows just 5 pictures(apple,pear,banana,strawberry,cherry pictures) but this pictures are turning nonstop in one second. and this case is continuous progress.There are 5 pictures and are chancing. Lets get my problem, I wanna make a program and when apple on the screen my keyboard will push 1,when pear on the screen my keyboard will push 2,banana is 3,strawberry is 4,cherry is 5. I have this 5 pictures which are in the video and I will introduce tham to program and I wanna compare my lib. and screen and get output.

This program will allow the user to input string then scans the file if it contains the same string given by the user. But i always get "MATCHED" even if i enter random string. I tried and tried to place the if statement in different positions but i dont get my expected output.
Code:
#include<stdio.h>#include<stdlib.h>
#include<time.h>
#include<string.h>
int main() {

I'm attempting to write a program that will respond to me a lot like cleverbot or Siri. I can take care of making the program do the things I want it to do such as shutdown the computer, play a song, or whatever but I do not yet understand how to make it read strings I say, and make sense of them using certain words in that sentence. I could probably make an endless if statement to see if a string entered (using cin on a string[]) matches a certain other string, covering a million different sentences with a million different combos of words and spelling and capitalization but I want to enter a sentence and have the program search for keywords and then act on them. For example, with "shutdown" and "computer" being the keywords that make the program run the shutdown operation, so that whether I say "Yo, program, shutdown this computer for me!" or "Shutdown this computer", it will use the common terms here, "shutdown" and "computer" to know what to do.

I have a vector of sets in which I wish to remove a set from the vector, if it contains a certain value, is there any way of doing this?
for(int j = 0; j <= clauseVector.size(); ++j){
if(clauseVector[j].find(find) != clauseVector[j].end())
std::cout << "FOUND: " << propagator << "
";
}
}
This is what I have been using to find the element, but is there a way to remove the set that contains the element?
If needed I can include the full code

I have two std::sets S1 and S2 which I need to merge.
I know that the largest element of S1 is less than the smallest element of S2.
the additional information about S1 and S2 should enable me to do the insertion of each element in costant time instead of log(N).
what is the fastest way to calculate the union of the two sets?

I have a vector of sets, which I am removing any element which contains a certain value. For example, if I was looking for 2:
[0] 1 2 3
[1] 4 5 6
After the program was run, I would be left with just [0]4 5 6.
This is the code I have been using
auto iter = std::remove_if( clauseVector.begin(), clauseVector.end(),[propagator] ( const std::set<int>& i ){
return i.find(propagator) != i.end() ; } ) ;
clauseVector.erase( iter, clauseVector.end() ) ;
I want to know, is there any way I can tweak this code so that it only removes one part of the set rather than the whole thing. For example with above example, I would be left with
[0] 1 3
[1] 4 5 6

So I'm attempting to write a program that will parse through a large file (genome sequences) and I'm basically wondering what options I should consider if I wanted to either:
a) store the entire genome in memory and then parse through it
b) parse through a file in small portions
If I go with "a", should I just read a file into a vector and then parse through it? And if I go with "b" would I just use an input/output stream?

I've recently started to learn C++ and I'm using codeblocks as my IDE, but I keep getting problems with AVG free edition picking up random pieces of code as Trojans ?! I've put an example of some code that sets it off below, and the error message I get. Is there anyway I can set AVG not to trigger with any codeblocks coding I've done? I guess I could tell AVG not to trigger for that folder, if that's even possible?
Code:
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
class MyClass{
public:
void coolSaying(){
cout << "BUST A MOVE!!" << endl;
[Code] ....
Error I get:
File name: h:DesktopC++ projectsclasses and objects 1 inDebugclasses and projects 1.exe
Threat name: Trojan horse Agent3.BMSZ

I have come across a problem lately. You are given a set of n sets with m variables.. for instance {a,b,c,d}, {b,c,d}, {b,c}, {c,e,f}, {e,f}. And you want to eliminate elements from these sets with the restriction that you can only eliminate one item from each set and each item can only be eliminated from one set (i.e. if you've eliminated b from set {a,b,c,d}, then you cannot eliminate it from {b,c,d}). The problem is writing an algorithm which determines the maximum number of elements you can eliminate. And I'm hopelessly stuck... of course, you could backtrack it and determine this number but I feel it could be done more efficiently..

I am working on a small game and I have the following problem. I need to get the colour of a particular position in an image. Say I'm given coordinates (5,5) I need the colour of the part in the image. I think I can do the colour picking myself, but I don't know how to point at coordinates inside the image.

I use the AS/400 warehouse system, and I need to be able to automate typing one letter in several different locations to speed things up.
My thoughts are:
1. Find out how to make a program that will determine x, y coordinates of mouseclicks, and then use software to use macros to change information.
2. Build a program that will complete a single process by repeating set mouse clicks and keystrokes.
We recieve HUGE transfers from a warehouse across the country, and have to change the first character of the name of bin locations - and after a few pages it gets VERY tedious.

#include <iostream>
#include <cmath>
#include <math.h>
using namespace std;
int main() {
float ArrayX[10];
float ArrayY[10];

Essentially the problem is that when I click the mouse, the program doesn't seem to record the coordinates. So the if statements are never executed. The problem could also be with the if statements, I'm not sure.
One thing I noticed was that when the do while loop is running and the left mouse button is not pressed then X and Y of dwMousePosition are both 0. But then if I press the left mouse button then the coordinates become x = 1 and y = 0.
NOTE I'm on Windows 7, 64 bit, using Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows Desktop

#include <windows.h>
#include <string>
#include <new>
#include <stdio.h>

The assignment is:
1) Write a program that asks the user for a a single character and two XY coordinates. The two X and two Y values should all be integers between 0 and 50. The character should be a printable ASCII character with values between and including ' !' (ascii value 33) and '~' (ascii value 126).
2) Your program should then draw a rectangle made up of the user selected character where the upper left corner is at X1; Y 1 and the lower right corner is at X2; Y2. Be sure to print the appropriate number of blank lines (having spaces in the blank rows is OK) in the beginning and pad each row of your rectangle with X1 leading spaces.
The Output is supposed to be similar to this:
(X1,Y1) = (0,0) , (X2,Y2) = (4,4), the character = ^
^^^^
^^^^
^^^^
^^^^
What I am having trouble understanding is printing between certain ASCII values (ASCII has never been discussed in class).
Another thing I am having trouble with is the main part of the assignment. From what we are currently discussing is loops and the assignment is covering nested loops. My code looks similar to this:
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
int main (void) {
int X1, Y1, X2, Y2;
char cRec;
printf("Enter a character: ");
scanf("%c", &cRec);
[Code] .....
My thinking on the assignment is that you want the X1 coordinate to increase to the value of X2 (same for Y1 and Y2). Is this thinking wrong?

I have created a sphere, inside the sphere (cell) is another smaller sphere (nuclei) located at one end and at the other end of the sphere is a structure call microtubules.The microtubules had a center point and then there are line that extend from the point to the edge of nuclei and also to the edge of the cell.
I have points (viruses) that move throughout the cell. Once the virus is on the microtubules structure ( assuming it attaches to the structure from the cell edge), it must move towards the center of the microtubules and eventually move down the line towards the nuclei.
I have already figured out how to determine if the virus is on the microtubules structure however I cant figure out how to move it down the line. I figured it out in 2D space using the quadrant system, but I cant wrap my head doing it in 3D space.Once the virus is on the microtubules how do I update the coordinates to move it towards the center and then towards the nuclei?

Write a program that prompts the user for the x and y coordinates of a point on the x-y plane, and then displays the position of that point in polar coordinates.
The program must execute via a function ‘polar’ that is called from the main function. This function accepts x & y coordinates as input value parameters, and then returns, through reference parameters, the polar coordinate position of the point (r and theta).
Could in theory be written entirely in the main function; however, to meet the problem statement the code must include a user defined function that returns polar coordinates to the main function via reference parameters.
Some programming hints:
(i)Reference parameters are declared using an ampersand after the declaration type: for example – ‘int& number’ declares a reference parameter ‘number’ of type ‘integer’.
(ii)You’ll need the cmath library for arctan and sqrt functions. The C++ syntax for the arctan function is “atan(x)”.
(iii)The C++ arctan function returns an angle in radians. For output to the screen convert the angle theta from radians to degrees.
(iv)Program should work for x, y values in all four quadrants of the x-y plane.

I would like to understand how to rotate a 3D Object around it's Center, by modifying it's Vertex Coordinates. N
The reason is that I need to keep track of the new coordinates because of my collision system, which is based on Vertex Coords.

void DrawHouse(GLfloat x1, GLfloat x2, GLfloat y1, GLfloat y2,
