C++ :: Autocomplete From Dictionary File

Anyway, I am working on a project and have compiled a dictionary text file of english language words. I want to use this dictionary for an autocomplete feature that I would like to add to the program.
I am having trouble finding anything about either
1) an autocomplete library I can #include into my code.
2) how to write my own.
I need it to be in either C or c#. If i can get the algorithm in C then I can just convert it to c#

I have a script that checks and compares two lists from an offline dictionary. Dictionary.txt which has a lot of words in it. input.txt will compare to dictionary.txt and print out anything that matches in CMD.
However, instead of using an offline dictionary is there anyway to make a code check an online dictionary? If so, would this process be slow or fast?

finishing my program which needs to do the following:
(i) Write code to read in the dictionary into an array of words
(ii) Write code to check the spelling of a word entered by the use
(iii) Like Scrabble / Countdown the user enters the letters they have and my code must find the word using the highest number of those letters
I have completed a good bit so far but I'm stuck on my checkSpelling() and findWord() functions as well as part (iii)

So I'm rewriting an old project of mine, and I'm trying to determine if there's truly any better way to map the data taken from a text file "dictionary" into the correct class fields for further processing. For example:
FNAME=MY_FIRST_NAME
ADDR=123 SOMEWHERE LN, NOWHERESVILLE, TX 01234
LNAME=MY_LAST_NAME
TOTCALLS=47
In each of these, I'd need the "value" (MY_FIRST_NAME, MY_LAST_NAME, etc) from the "keys" (FNAME, LNAME, etc) to be mapped to the proper class fields. Say, for example, I had this:
Class DataProcessing {
public string Address;
public string FirstName;
public string LastName;
public int TotalCalls;
...
}
I would need DataProcessing.Address to be set to the value in the ADDR key/value pair. The same would be true for each other field. The problem is that based on the text file's source (which isn't under my control, and won't be changed anytime soon), the key/value pairs are not always in the same place...so a second file could have the data as such:
TOTCALLS=47
ADDR=123 SOMEWHERE LN, NOWHERESVILLE, TX 01234
LNAME=DARKPOETCC'S LAST NAME
FNAME=DARKPOETCC'S FIRST NAME
Any smarter way to do this than looping through each line that was read in from the file, and determining where it belongs, such as (pseudo code follows):
IF FieldName == "TOTCALLS" THEN
//Assign to TotalCalls field
ELSEIF FieldName == "ADDR" THEN
//Assign to Address field
ELSEIF FieldName == (You get the picture...)

Over the last few days, I've been trying to implement a spell checker in c++ that checks if the inputted word is in the dictionary file on my computer. However, as I'm nearing completion of the project, I keep running into more and more errors, some of which I do not understand. My program is complete, albeit, with some minor bad practices (I hard coded a few things just to get the program up and running.For some reason, everything works well until I output spelling suggestions. I type in "mses" (attempting to spell mess) and it returns some strange characters. It does definitely recognize that there are two permutations that match words in the dictionary (however they are both mess due to the algorithm implemented), and I don't understand why? I will work on removing the duplicates after.

How to reset/clear dictionary?
I've already tried:
someList.Clear()
and
var keysToRemove = new List<string>();
foreach (var e in someList)
{
keysToRemove.Add(e.Key);
}
foreach (var key in keysToRemove)
{
someList.Remove(key);
}
And keep getting the error: An item with the same key has already been added. I'm using VS 2012.

how to see if what the user says is in the dictionary. I do not know what to put in ContainsKey() or after the information in console.writeline. I just want the user to type in the key then see if it is in the dictionary then print out the value if it is.

I am creating a student management system (using classes) for my assignment and am stuck with designing UI. I made the classes but am not sure what the best control is to display items from a Dictionary<> object. Right now I am using the ListView because of the columns in details view...just want to know if there is a better, simpler control I could use if i want to display data (without using sql)...or is the good old "next" and "previous" option the simplest?

I need to create code based upon the following pseudo code:
dictionary=vector
file containing words to search for=external file
While there more words to search, for search the dictionary if the entire dictionary is searched and the word is not found, return the word, search the dictionary for the next element (and so on)
I cannot for the life of me figure out the sequence of loops to do this. The following code returns all of the words instead of just the ones not found in the dictionary, but it's all I've got after countless changes:

I am having trouble getting values of a dictionary to display in a label and radio button text after the dictionary key is randomly selected.
I first created a class called TheoryQuestions and created a new instance of the class for each dictionary entry. Each entry contains strings for Question, RadioButton Text(x4), and Correct Answer.
The random generator is actually selecting a random number as I can display the generated number in a label. The problem is that the dictionary string values held in the dictionary position represented by the random number are not being displayed.
Here is my TheoryQuestion Class

I need to assign unique integer values to words in a dictionary that have the same alphabets, for example 'act' and 'cat' should have the same integer value. Would just adding the ascii values of the letters be sufficient?

Write a function that sorts a dictionary list alphabetically. Here's my code:

It's compiling ok, and displays the first call to the printf function from main. However, after this I get the 'Segmentation fault (core dumped)' at the terminal, presumably from the call to the dictionarySort function.
I had a little look around and found it is something to do with non-existent or not available memory addressing, I think? Even so, I can't figure out what is causing the issue in my code.

I'm very new to MFC & VisualC++. I'm using MSVS2010 Pro. I am trying to write/debug a simple form that saves and restores the content of some edit controls. It seems to work as expected, except the file saves only to the Project Folder, regardless of where I browse and select to save the file.

I have written a C++ program I have multiple of CSV file used as input, which I open one at a time and close it after extracting data to a output file which is the only file.
I run getline(inFile,line);
outFile << line << endl;
I run this code, and only part of it is goes to the output file I got, also have spacing randomly to specific file and inconsistent
But when I slower the code, like system("Pause") in the loop, I can get extract what I want perfectly....
Is my program running to fast, why getline would be skipping part of what things I want?

One of my class assignments is to create a program that receive a .txt file containing a students name and their grades as follows:
John K. 99, 87, 57, 89, 90, 95
Amanda B. Jones 100, 88, 76, 99, 86, 92
etc..
The number of students is unknown until run time. You have to take those grades and average them weighing the first (4) at 10% a piece and the last (2) at 30% each.
Then return an output file with the students name and their letter grade A,B,C,D,F based on their computed score. In addition, on screen it needs to display the average scores for each Q1, Q2, etc. as well as the minimum and maximum for each test on the screen. I am having a hard time in assigning the scores to a variable so that they can then be computed as an average and then used to determine a letter grade. I have begun to write the code and am a bit stuck..here's what I have so far:

The Objective Of This Program Is To Create A File To Write Text And Read Back The File Content. To Do That I Have Made Two Function writeFile() To Write And readFile() To Read.The readFile() function works just fine but writeFile() doesn't.
How writeFile() function Works? when writeFile() function Execute It Takes Characters User Type And When Hit Enter(ASC|| 10) It Ask "More?(Y/N)" That Means What User Want? Want To Go Next Line Or End Input?
If "Y" Than Inputs Are Taken From Next Line Else Input Ends.
But The Problem Is When Program Encounters ch==10 It Shows "More?(Y/N)" And Takes Input In cmd variable.If cmd=='Y' I Mean More From Next Line Than It Should Execute Scanf Again To Take ch I Mean User Input.But Its Not!!! Its Always Showing "More?(Y/N)" Again And Again Like A Loop.

I'm writing a program that stores records into a file and then these records can be printed out. A last name, first name, and score is stored to be exactly 36 characters long (using leading spaces to pad) making it easier to retrieve specific records. For example, three records stored in the file would like like this: (the underscores are simply to illustrate the distance, they are not in the file itself)
_______lastname_______firstname__90__________lname __________fname_100___________last___________first __60
When printed out, the names are formatted as follows:
lastname, firstname: 90
lname, fname: 100
last, first: 60
However, when I print them out this is what I get:
lastname, firstname: 90
lname, fname: 100$
last, first: 60H
For some reason, for any record after the first, an extra character is added to the end. These characters are not in the file, so I was thinking that the array for some reason wasn't being filled completely, (the array is initialized to size 36 and 36 characters are read from the file using fread) so it was printing out a random character assigned to the 36th array position. Except the character never changes, (always a $ for record 2, H for record 3, l for record 4 if i remember) and I've tried reducing the array size or the number of character read and it's the string that gets altered, the random character always remains. I figure the problem must be in the print_records function (appending seems to work no problem). Anyway here is my print records and appending records code.

I have almost a hundred names in a text file that I want to convert to email addresses and save to another file. I seem to have it working, but it doesn't print the full names in the email prefix. The output I'm looking for is Doe_John@livebrandm, but I'm only getting D_J@livebrandm. I'm not sure what I should specifically be reading up on that applies to this directly.

I am writing a simple file/text parser to read a config file for some code I am working on. It's dead simple and not particularly smart but it should get the job done. The code reads a config file:

Here is where it gets wierd. You'll notice that there is an unused variable (filepath) in the config struct. This variable is not referenced or used anywhere in the code, ever. Yet if I comment out the declaration of char filepath[1024], the code segfaults partway through the read_config() function.
My best guess is that there is a buffer overflow elsewhere and it just so happens that the memory allocated for filepath happened to be there to catch it up until now, but I can't work out where it might be happening. With the declaration commented out, the read_config() function gets as far as reading the "padding" variable before it crashes. Yet when the declaration is there, then all the variabled are read correctly and everything seems to work.

I have written my program and it works when I keep everything in the header files, and then have my main. I am now splitting them up into implementation files, but Eclipse keeps giving me errors. It gives me error at every opening brace of the constructor and functions. It says on all of them "Redefinition of (name of constructor or method), Previously declared here." What am I doing wrong, because it works in the header file?
