I read one csv file in which it contains different types of data like string, integer etc.I want to fetch only integer data from that file and store in vector.Below i copy some code that read line from file,store in vector.I tried to convert string to integer or double and do some operations on it as i know that string values,but how to identify only integer values and store that in vector?
#include<iostream>
#include<vector>
#include<string>
#include<fstream>
#include<sstream>
#include<iterator>
#include<algorithm>
using namespace std;
int main() {
string line;
int cnt=0,val1,val2;
[Code] ....
input file like
Employee Code:121AEmployee Name :David

I am trying to get my program to calculate what point goes in what quadrant using a file. But msy program is not reading the values from the file and also it is not running so im not sure what's wrong with it.
//This program uses a fstream object to write data that will read the values of a (x,y) point from a file.
//add the appropriate preprocessor

correct the below code:
file already contains entries : 1st row username; 2nd row password.
check status required to write at third line and need to read or alter the check status value.
Currently this code is working if already there is a value for check status, then it is overwriting else UI hanging.
Code:
WriteCheckStatusToFile(BOOL& locVar) {
FILE *l_pFile = NULL;
CString l_strRememberCheck;
l_strRememberCheck = GetExePath() + _T("password");
CString sVar;
sVar.Format(_T("%d"),locVar);

For an assignment I have to write a program which basically converts 8 bit binary numbers to ASCII and outputs the assembled text. Here's the catch:
The 8-bit binary numbers are provided by some external file (which only contains 8 bit binary numbers); the name and hence length is not known. The external file is called with a pointer upon execution
(./"conversion program" < external_file.in).
I'm getting the 8 bits as a string, calculate/convert decimals, output char type. HOW do I know when to stop the loop? If I just pick an insanely high number I get random stuff at the end; no boundaries obviousely lead to an infinite loop. Can I determine the lenght of this random ext file somehow nonetheless?
Is it possible to create a vector which dynamically adjusts itself until there are no more strings = end of the file?

I'm trying to get my program to read a series of comma delimited values from a file into a vector. However, I am unsure how to actually go about doing this. I've posted my best guess below but it's really just a stab in the dark and I always receive a compiler error.
Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
#include <vector>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
vector <string> v_input;
int main() {
ofstream fout ("Insert File Path Here.txt");
fout << "4, 8, 15, 16, 23, 42";

How to read pixels from an x,y coordinate using the VGA register values?
byte readVRAMdirect(VGA_Type *VGA, uint_32 start, uint_32 offset) //Used in 256 color mode!
{
if (!VGA->VRAM_size) return 0; //No size!
return VGA->VRAM[SAFEMOD((start*4)+offset,VGA->VRAM_size)]; //The full protected offset!
[code]....
getVRAMScanlineStart(VGA,y) gives the offset register multiplied by 2 (shl 1), multiplied with the current memory address size (byte, word or dword) multiplied by the scanline. 256-color mode is already working. GETBIT gives a bit #(0-7) of a specified byte.
writeVRAMplane & readVRAMplane are used by the CPU to write data to VRAM (address 0xA000:xxxx-0xBFFF:xxxx), determined by the memory read and write modes(working) and the odd/even, planar or chain4 enable mode (working).how to get the 16 color and interleaved shift mode working?

So I have to write a code for my C++ class, and I am having a problem trying to figure out how to get my code to read multiple int values. This is what my code should look like

[1520<1730]

My question is on c++ strings. At the moment my program is reading input in one line at a time after the user presses enter.
I want to read multiple values in on a single line. Example: "apple banana orange end" ... How would I do this?

#include "Header.h"
#include "Orange.h"
#include <iostream>
#include <string>

So I have this text file that I am trying to read from and store the values of each line in multiple variables. Let's say my text file contains
AXSYZ3482 Tom 100 112 and my code below here works fine when the lines in the text file is separated by spaces.
Code:
while (fscanf(fp, "%s %s %d %d
", userID, name, &startLoc, &endLoc) != EOF) {
printf("%s %s %d %d
", userID, name, startLoc, endLoc);
}
But let's say my file was to look like this instead.
AXSYZ3482:Tom:100:112
But if i try this below...
Code:
while (fscanf(fp, "%s:%s:%d:%d
", userID, name, &startLoc, &endLoc) != EOF) {
printf("%s %s %d %d
", userID, name, startLoc, endLoc);
}
It seem to store the entire line in userID including the ":". I want to ignore the ":"'s and store everything in between in respective varibles in the order specified above.
So first string in userID, then ignore the :, then second string in name, and ignore the next :, and so forth.

I want to read the contents of a file block (512 bytes) by block using low I/O read statements. Each record is 64 bytes long and has a pre-defined structure. The first 4 bytes are an unsigned integer; the next 20 bytes are ascii text, etc.
I have a buffer which I can access with buf[0] to buf[63] to read the first record and then buf[64] to buf[127] for the second, etc. However, I was wondering how to map a record so that I can refer to an integer as an integer and a float as float, etc. I can't create a struct and move the 64 bytes to it, as I will have alllignment/padding problems.
What is the standard way to deal with records in C?

This is a small program that reads a line from the screen, takes the ASCII values from the entered text, and edits it. Next, the ASCII values are reinterpreted (am i misspelling?) as text, and displayed. However, my final output has (allways?) at least 7 characters, even if you enter only one. I'm also trying to accomplish, that the part of the string which isn't filled, will be printed empty. In spaces.
compiled with -std=c99.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
int main(){
int maxsize;
printf("How long is your message?

The Objective Of This Program Is To Create A File To Write Text And Read Back The File Content. To Do That I Have Made Two Function writeFile() To Write And readFile() To Read.The readFile() function works just fine but writeFile() doesn't.
How writeFile() function Works? when writeFile() function Execute It Takes Characters User Type And When Hit Enter(ASC|| 10) It Ask "More?(Y/N)" That Means What User Want? Want To Go Next Line Or End Input?
If "Y" Than Inputs Are Taken From Next Line Else Input Ends.
But The Problem Is When Program Encounters ch==10 It Shows "More?(Y/N)" And Takes Input In cmd variable.If cmd=='Y' I Mean More From Next Line Than It Should Execute Scanf Again To Take ch I Mean User Input.But Its Not!!! Its Always Showing "More?(Y/N)" Again And Again Like A Loop.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
void writeFile(void);
void readFile(void);
int main(){

I am writing a simple file/text parser to read a config file for some code I am working on. It's dead simple and not particularly smart but it should get the job done. The code reads a config file:
Code:
readlength=2500000
start=0
finish=25000000
cutoff=20000
samplingfreq=250000
poles=10
filterpadding=500
}
[code]....
Here is where it gets wierd. You'll notice that there is an unused variable (filepath) in the config struct. This variable is not referenced or used anywhere in the code, ever. Yet if I comment out the declaration of char filepath[1024], the code segfaults partway through the read_config() function.
My best guess is that there is a buffer overflow elsewhere and it just so happens that the memory allocated for filepath happened to be there to catch it up until now, but I can't work out where it might be happening. With the declaration commented out, the read_config() function gets as far as reading the "padding" variable before it crashes. Yet when the declaration is there, then all the variabled are read correctly and everything seems to work.

I have a .txt file which I want to read from and then write a new text file, this time with sorted lines. It is easy to sort one value, but what about sorting entire lines based on one value?
I want to sort the lines based on the FIRST value.
Example text file contents:
values;data
5.01 100
2.9 342
2.69 43534
10.1 43
6.8 45324
Output: Text file containing
2.69 43534
2.9 342
5.01 100
6.8 45324
10.1 43
It's easy to do this if there was only 1 number on each line, but I do I sort all the lines based on the first number in each line?
