What i try to do is to write a code which reads some specific values from a file and stores them in an array. My File looks like this

Read the input file of data ( employees.txt) and store them in arrays. This company can have up to 55 employees [b]i need to do these following in these program:
Write a function to read the input file and store the data in arrays.
Write a function to calculate regular pay.
Write a function to calculate overtime pay
Write a function to calculate gross pay.
Write a function to bubble sort the employees into order by last name, first name.
Write any swap functions that are needed.
Write a function to write output to a file called payroll.txt

how I can read information from a text file into an array so afterwards I can display the array and it will show the contents of the text file?
the information inside my text files consist of names and numbers like so: "Collins,Bills 80" should I separate the numbers and names into two separate text files one for names and one for numbers?

A company uses two text files: one to store employees' details and another to log their sign in/out time.
The details file - called details.txt" has the following format: ID, Name, Date of Birth, SSN, Department, Position - separated by spaces.
An extract from the file looks like this:

So I have this text file that I am trying to read from and store the values of each line in multiple variables. Let's say my text file contains
AXSYZ3482 Tom 100 112 and my code below here works fine when the lines in the text file is separated by spaces.
Code:

So first string in userID, then ignore the :, then second string in name, and ignore the next :, and so forth.

How would one go about doing this? I am very fond with Windows I/O, but not so much with this subject. I am decent with fstream, probably not as skilled at it as I should be, but I assume <fstream> would be a better choice, since it isn't locked to Windows.
Anyway, say I have a .txt file like this:
Bill is a cow.
Bill likes meat.
Bob is a pig.
Bob and Bill are friends.
And I want to count the number of times "Bill" is written. How would I do that?

I wrote a code to read a specific amount of data from file until terminating set is reached. however the code does what its supposed to correctly until it reaches the 5th loop it justs stops responding. I've checked the reading file and all elements are correct in the file.

I have a text file in the form

left one is time and right one is pressure, I need to show the time value as it is but i need to use the pressure value to calculate air speed. I don't know how to use the strings to pick up the list properly. I did the calculation formula for the air speed but i can't pick the pressure value up from the text file. here's what i did:

So I have to read from a file, and store the information in separate variables. My problem is that for some of the information I need multiple words, and for others I don't, so I cant simply store 1 word into a variable and store the next in another in so on. To demonstrate what I mean let me give an example.
Dog Cat Blue Bird Snake White Horse
I am able to store "Dog","Cat","Blue","Bird"...etc in variables but I don't know how to make it so I can store "Dog" in one variable, "Cat" in a second variable. and "Blue Bird" in a third variable. "Snake" would be the 4th and "White Horse" would be the fifth. How can I read a file and manipulate the pointer to grab what I need?

Trying to read/write from a file located only in the virtual store. Having trouble loading the file in using
outputFile.open("%localappdata%virtualstoreProgram Files (x86)AGC est.txt");
and
outputFile.open("%localappdata%virtualstoreProgram Files (x86)AGC est.txt");
Although I can get it to work using:
inputFile.open("C:UsersNewlanceAppDataLocalVirtualStoreProgram Files (x86)AGCsettingsV5.cfg");
But I need it to work on other machines IE: Not Newlance.

have to do an election program in C.
There are 7 candidates and 365 votes in total. I need to do this using an array of structures. I need to read from a text file each of the names of the candidate and the number of votes they get. At the end i need to output the winner of the election.

I was able to input the name for each Candidate from the text file. Now the problem is putting each vote to the corresponding candidate. Also any vote that is above 7 is a spoilt vote which i am trying to count in the above code. The code compiles but it crashes.
I am using while(!feof) but it seems that its not working or this is not the correct way.

I'm making a Jeopardy game and when I read text from a file into arrays to set the categories, questions and answers a couple of the strings are not terminating and they are printing that junk box thing at the end.
When I use the debugger and print the problem strings they are showing up as "Thanksgiving21" or "Calvin Klein21" but all the other strings aren't having that problem.
Then for example I will change "line[strlen(line)-1] = '';" to "line[strlen(line)] = '';" and other strings will have that problem but not those stated ones. I'm using line[strlen(line) - 1] = '' to get rid of the newline fgets appends on the end of the strings.
