C# :: New Username Section - Storing New Member Details

Nov 15, 2014

I'm trying to create a piece of code similar to the code I have created on the new username section which will allow me to put certain restrictions on how my new users log in i.e the password length and the the need for a numeric digit. I also need storing my new members details in my previously created array.

case 'N': //Set up new user
Console.Write("
Create new Member details
");
Console.Write("
Create new Username
must be 8 characters, all letters, 1 Capital letter");

The A alphabet is in accordance to the registration number for respective in Singapore. (eg. AEW9829 or W1212Y or MCD1177). Note the A and the 1234 total count in the registration number can be less than 3 like AT9829 or BHY280. The Car Make is for the identifying the manufacturer of the car like Honda, Toyota, Proton..etc. The Car Model is to represent the Manufacturers’ respective model like Honda City, Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Toyota Vios, Toyota Camry … etc.

C/C++ :: Creating Username From Name

Nov 6, 2014

I'm trying to create a simple program that reads in the user's first name, middle name, and last name. Then inside of the userName function, I want it to only take the first letter of firstName, first letter of middleName, and then just output the full last name. So for example: if your name was John Kevin Smith, it would output jksmith. I'm having a lot of compile issues due to the pointers. I have to use the function in this code, so the pointers are needed.

#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>
int main() {
char userName (char firstName[12], char middleName[12], char lastName[12], char firstInit[1], char secondInit[1]);
char firstName[12];
char middleName[12];
char lastName[12];
char firstInit[1];

Visual C++ :: Access Username / Password Protected URL?

Oct 14, 2014

I mainly code plugins for Cinema 4D .... I used to code in COFFEE (a javascript like language, only for Cinema 4D) and python. But, recently, I started coding in C++.

I start my development on a Mac, using Xcode. But then, to generate Windows versions of my plugins, I take my source code to Visual Studio, perform the necessary adjustments, and create Win32 and Win64 code.

Lately, I was trying to devise a scheme to protect my plugins from being pirated. Yes, I know it is virtually impossible, but if I could make it harder for hackers to crack my plugins, it would be fine.
I made it work fine in python and in C++, but only in Xcode.

In Windows it is difficult. I only need to be able to access a username/password protected folder in my server and check if there is a file there. I don't even need to read the content of the file (but it would be nice to be able to do that too).

I started out using the cURL library but it is so complicated to make it work. I need 32 and 64 bit versions. Then I also have to include three .dll files in the folder of the application (that means that I would have to ask to the people who buy my plugins to copy three additional files to the main application folder... not a good thing )

So, any way to access a username/password protected folder on the net? (the username/password is generated in my code so, of course, I know what are the username/password to provide).

Also, I would need a way for the code to be completely self-contained, meaning that the users would not have to manually add any other files (libraries), besides the folder containing my plugin.

C++ :: Call To Member Function X Is Ambiguous - Overloaded Member From Header File

Feb 23, 2014

I get the following error in XCode whenever I try to access the member I created 'randomGen' in a separate class in a different header file. I have made sure to include the header file and have tried to access it through an object.

This is the code I enter when trying to access the method from randomiser.h in main.cpp. It is also an overloaded function with doubles and integers:

RandomG randomiser;
randomiser.randomGen(); // 'Call to member function 'randomGen' is ambiguous'

This is the code inside randomiser.h:

#include <string>
#include <iostream>
using std::string;
using std::cout;
using std::endl;
class RandomG {

[Code] ....

This is the error inside xcode: [URL] ....

I have tried seperating the code for the functions in another class (main.cpp) and then running and it seems to works, so I'm not sure why I can't put everything in the .h file and then access it?

I would like it in a seperate file so it doesn't clutter my main. I am writing a game with SDL so that might be confusing and I would like the window to have a random title and other random properties, so it would be easier to use a function.

C/C++ :: Passing Member Functions Member Variable To Another Variable

Aug 31, 2014

So I have a class object that contains the private member variable spot and the public member function MoveLock. Within MoveLock, is a member variable called numbers that holds the place where a user is on a "lock knob". Now, what I'm trying to accomplish is that whenever the user turns the "knob" in the wrong direction, the position is updated with that current numbers so that the clicks needed to unlock the first state is also updated. But I get these errors:

Error E2096 C:Users...switchtest.cpp 34: Illegal structure operation in function main()
Error E2294 C:Users...switchtest.cpp 39: Structure required on left side of . or .* in function main()

Ultimately, what I have in main() is a piece of what I'm going to implement in a class member function. I'm also thinking about moving the if else statements out of the for and creating a second one for the else portion.

#include <iostream>
#include <windows.h>
#include <iomanip>
using namespace std;
HANDLE inKeys = GetStdHandle(STD_INPUT_HANDLE);
HANDLE screen = GetStdHandle(STD_OUTPUT_HANDLE);

C :: Storing Key - Value Pairs

Mar 26, 2013

I have a project to do in C and coming form Java I miss all the included features that are missing from C! I need to be able to store key value pairs in an quick and memory efficient manner. I've looked up using hash maps but I'm very new to C so don't really understand even the basic ones. I've looked at using a multi-dimensional array as I'm more comfortable with arrays but I'm unsure if that would count as a memory efficient and quick method?

C++ :: Variable Not Storing The Value?

Feb 5, 2014

So i'm creating bank system. Where I have function that reads the text file (balance), and I make a deposit, which adds what was in the balance = deposit + balance.

But this is what is happening. In my text file i have number 10. Function balance works fine and reads 10 from the text file.

When I make a deposit add a value to the balance, if i add 7, the new balance is 17. And i check the text file shows me is 17. Which is correct.

The problem is here. If i make another deposit, without closing the program, for example i add 5 to the balance, the new balance should be 22 = 17(balance) + 5(deposit), because 17 was store on the text file and it was the balance that was store on the text file on the last time. But it shows me 15, it adds the balance that the program first started which was 10(balance) + 5(deposit), but should had had be 17 + 5.

When I close the program the value on the text file, is 15, that was the last sum that i did.

int main()
{
double balance = 0;
balance = currentBalance(balance);
menu(balance);

C :: Storing PPM Data Into Arrays

Mar 29, 2014

I am doing this program where I analyze colors in a ppm file. Now I am having a hard time storing the data into arrays in this order...

P3
600 339
255
44 5 8
44 5 8
43 4 7
42 3 6
42 3 4
44 5 6
...

So far i tried using fscanf()

Code:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <math.h>
#include <stdbool.h>

#define DEBUG true
#define CHECK true

[Code] ....

I then realized that the order that the second method gave me will make it very hard for me to calculate the RGBs. Because they will be calculated like wise..

P3
600 339
255
44 5 8 = sum
44 5 8 = sum
43 4 7 = sum
42 3 6 = sum

42 3 4 = sum
44 5 6 = sum
...

but that isn't the issue right now..

C :: Storing A 10 Digit Number

Dec 9, 2014

I wanted to find all the prime until a specified limit in C. I use the Sieve of Eratosthenes. But when I define the limit to anything more than a 7 digit number the program terminates.

Code:

#include<stdio.h>
#define limit 1000000000
int main(void)
{
unsigned long long int i,j;
int primes[limit] = {0};
//int count =0;
for(i=2;i<limit;i++)
}

[code]....

I believe that this might be because the size cannot be declared array cannot be more than the a 7 digit number. I think so. how to store a 10 digit number in C?And can't unsigned long long hold a 10 digit?
