I want to find that whether the 2d Vector table having duplicate or not. I can see lot of programs for removing duplicates by using unique STL algorithm. Which is the best way to find " is Duplicate or not " for 100,000 Records.
View 1 RepliesI'm trying to create a database/search engine program and I'm having remove duplicate strings from a vector. I'm mostly just trying to make it so that if 2 or more movie have the same title in the database, it will remove the duplicates and just print out one copy of the movie console. I tried using the unique() command, but it doesn't seem to work.

I have an algorithm which uses nested for loops, which looks for duplicate elements in an array. However, as soon as one duplicate element is found... the program will stop looking for more duplicates? My program continues to look for more even though one is found? I know there is a break command but I can't get it to work. Code is below:

I'm doing a card game and i'm unclear on how to retrieve the card by doing vectors. after i use use srand() in main and create a rand() in a function, how can i retrieve that random card 1-52?
so far i know that i have to find the length of the card. but i don't know why i have to save the location onto another variable and erase the card of the specified index before returning the card out the function.

I used .IndexOf() but noticed it ignores leading spaces.
So then I went with .Substring() but that doesn't seem like that's the best solution either.
I have a cpp app that reads in a number of files and writes revised output. The app doesn't seem to be able to open a file with a ' in the file name, such as,
N,N'-dimethylethylenediamine.mol

The path to the file is passed as a cpp string and the c version is used to open the file. Do I need to handle this as a special case? It is possible that there could be " as well, parenthesis, etc.

i just want to check to see if one word (string) or one sentance is equal to any others within an array. My code
so basically i want to check if a is equal to either "sleep", "in", or "bed". Or even if the string within a is equal to "sleep in bed" as one string.
I have used the following but even if i get it correct and it says correct it says incorrect another 2 times because it is saying yeah you have gotten one right out of the possible 3. I am trying to take a string that is within the main function, and write a void function that gives me the most common alpha character used inside the string. How to mix a string and an array together like that as I am not too familiar with arrays yet.

I want to extract a vector that contains the positions of every first character for each number.
For the example above, the output should be a vector with elements [6 15 23 33 etc...]. These are the positions of the first character for every number.
I need to be able to do this for any arbitrary string with any arbitrary amount of numbers and characters in it (I also need to account for negative numbers).
i couldnt solve the algorithm exactly. The program asks the user for a string. "Bugun h@v@ cok g'uzel" for example. then the program asks for another string. If that string doesnt exists in the main string program should say there isnt any substring. If it exist then the program should print the remaining part of main string. For example:

write the substring : ug

I came across this code to find if string has unique characters...i didnt understand why they subracted ascii value of character '0' in the statement int val = _str[i]- '0' and what is happening with the statements...

I wrote a program that reads a list from a file and stores it in a string type vector. Now, I want the user to input a word so that the program can search the vector to see if that word already exists. I have used every possible way of reading input from the console and storing it in order to compare with the vector but it never results in a match. When I print the input string and the vector string they are exactly the same thing (or at least print to the console as if they were). I've tried using getline; using cin direct to a string var; using cin to a char array and then casting to string using string str(arr); I even added a newline at the end just in case and STILL I cannot get a match.

i've been writing some code for an assignment and it is mostly about pointers and string manipulations. It runs but crashes and I think it might be from over- valuating some strings maybe not. I have written in check points to make sure each function passes through but quits at findFirstPath loop, I had kept running the program through as i added more and more code. It had stopped when I near finished I believed it to just be because I hadn't finished the functions I called.

I am reading a file whick looks like following:

Problem: I have to find the word "NAND" and then find the numbers inside the brackets because they are the inputs to that NAND gate. I have written a code below but that code can detect the fixed number of inputs. I need a code which can detect any number of inputs (whether 2 inputs or more than two). But i don't understand how do i do that?

While removing duplicate elements from an array, if more than 4 array elements are same then removal does not work. however my logic seems to be alright. i reckon there is a problem with the conditions and assignments in the three for loops that i have used. the program is as follows:

I have table called leavetable where in i have the fields eid, lfrom,lto, reason,status an employee will insert these fields in the leave form except status, status will be updated by admin but there is no unique field in the table so when the admin updates the status as cancel for an id emp001 so whereever this id is present in the table its getting updated to cancel even though it is approved previously.. I created program that insert employes data and then print their data but never accept duplicate age if user entered duplicated age prompt him to enter another age (age must be unique)

The program iterates through the vector to find the string and then saves that line to another vector to display later(incase there is more then 1 instance of the string found).

I'm trying to explode a string and put each word in a vector. I don't know how to use stringstream yet, and I'm trying to get practice at using some of the member functions of string. I can get the first word in the right position, but then I can't figure out why I get the 2nd word plus the first 3 chars of the 3rd word in the 2nd position.
