C++ :: Class Calendar - Pointer To A Function Error

I have a class Calendar which has an attribute of priority queue, that accepts records of structure defined as:

And here is the problem. Whole day I've been trying to fill the Calendar with some test entries by calling the method

void Calendar::calendarPush(double Time, int Priority, eventPointer event)

This is how I call it

calendar.calendarPush(Time, Priority, &Calendar::calendarEmpty);

But Visual Studio keeps to warn me with this error

argument of type "bool (Calendar::*)()" is incompatible with parameter of type "eventPointer *"

In this assignment the student should develop a month calendar by designing a class called calendarType . This class uses two other classes (dateType and dayType) as described below:

1. dayType Class: This class has been designed by students in Lab1 exercises. Referee to it.
2. dateType Class: This class is designed and implemented to keep track of data. This class has been provided it to you. Study it first then add definitions and implementations of the following operations to this class:

- Test whether the year is a leap year. Leap year is identified by 3 criteria :
- The year is evenly divisible by 4;
- If the year can be evenly divided by 100, it is NOT a leap year, unless;
- The year is also evenly divisible by 400. Then it is a leap year.
- Return the number of days in the month. For example, if the date is 12/3/2014, the number of days to be returned is 31 because there are 31 days in March.
- Return the number of days passed in the year. For example, if the date is 18/3/2014 the number of days passed is 77. Note that the number of days returned also includes the current day.
- Return the number of days remaining in the year. For example, if the date is
18/3/2014 , the number of days remaining in the year is 288.
- Calculate the new date by adding a fixed number of days to the date. For example, if the date is 18/3/2014 and the days to be added are 25, the new date is 12/4/2014.

To print monthly calendar using calendarType class, you must know the first day of the month and the number of the days in that month. Thus, you must store the first day of the month, which is in the form of dayType and the month and the year of the calendar. Clearly, the month and the year can be stored as an object of the form dateType by setting the day component of the date to 1, and the month and year as specified by user.

Design the class calendarType so that the program print a calendar for any month starting 1/1/ 1500 which is Monday. To calculate the first day of a month, you can add the 2 appropriate days to Monday of January 1, 1500. For this class identify and implement the following operations:

- Determine the first day of the month for which the calendar will be printed. Call this operation firstDayOfMonth.
- set/get month.
- set/get year.
- Print calendar for particular month.
- Add the appropriate constructors to initialize the member variables.
- Write a test program to print the calendar for either a particular year or a particular month.

I'm working on a short program to calculate the mode of a vector of ints. I am new, so not extremely familiar with pointers, and passing items to functions. This is something I've struggled with (obviously, or I wouldn't be here). I am currently getting the following error when I try to compile this program using g++:

warning: pointer to a function used in arithmetic

I receive this error for the following lines: 66, 73, 75, 81.

I am not using pointers here so I do not understand why this error crops up, much less how to fix it. Here is the code I am struggling with:

I declared all functions in header file, such as:

And then I define them in separated .cpp files, each .cpp file include the header, but I got multiple definition error, why?

Even the int main() function, which only decalred and defined once got this error, why?

I have the following problem: I am using NLOpt for optimization. The API provides functions to set the objective. This is done as follows:

Visual C++ :: Friend Class And Pointer Function

I need understanding this block of code, particularly this line : *getLeftChild() { return this - _child; }

But I see that getLeftChild expects function pointer, and I absolutely have no clue where "this" comes from inside function body.

(return this - _child) - "this" has to be integer.

Or, if we gave pointer, and "this" is referring to some UpperNode, then I can't understand to which one, I have no UpperNode array defined or something. So if this functions is actually scaling pointer address, then scaling where to? I could comprehend it, if I had some array of UpperNodes, but not just class. I have UpperNodes array defined in other friendly class, but don't think they are related .....

I'm currently programming a server which uses multiple threads- I have a class for one map in the game. Each map has a thread for timed events(tile regeneration, NPC regeneration, etc.), and a thread for handling NPCs(movement, combat, etc.). A basic structure of the class looks like this:

I have in the past written code for templated functions where one function argument can be either a function pointer or a Functor. Works pretty straightforward.

Now I am in a situation where I am actually trying to pass a function pointer as template argument to a class. Unfortunately this does not work, I can pass the Functor class but not the function pointer. Below code illustrates the issue:

When I do this:

In the cpp file, 'myMethod' is underlined in red and when I hover over it, it says:

"std::list<int, std::allocator<int>> myClass::myMethod()

Error: declaration is incompatible with "<error-type> myClass::myMethod()""

But when I make it as a standalone function, outside a class, with no pre-declaration, there is no problem.

My program is a basic MFC AppWizard (exe) created project in VC++ 6. In MainFrm.cpp, I am trying to access some user defined CMyView member functions. However when I try to do the standard procedure to get the CMyView pointer in MainFrm.cpp, I get the " ... 'CMyView' : undeclared identifier" error. To resolve this, I add " #include myView.h " at the top of MainFrm.h which then produces the following errors:

I'm trying to implement a class hierarchy and a wrapper class with a pointer to the base class. The base class has operator< overloaded and the implementation makes use of virtual functions as some of the logic for sorting is in the derived classes. Unfortunately, when trying to use the base class operator< from the wrapper, I get a "pure virtual method called".

Below code is meant to illustrate my problem. Unfortunately it crashes on me (upon destruction of vec) and I cannot quite see, why. So two questions:

1. spot the error I made in the code below (having lived in Java-land for the last 5 years, I'm sure I just did some stupid error)?

2. How can I implement Wrapper::operator< to use Base::operator<? I know I could write a function and pass it to sort but I'm interessted if there is a way to actually use Base::operator<.

The object is to have the user enter in the number of days then the day the calendar would start on. This part I was able to achieve and run okay. Once I wanted to get the values/days that were prime to have a P besides them this is where I ran into trouble. In this case P stands for prime numbers.

The issue I have is that some of the values that are prime have the correct P but others have the P as well such as 9, 15, and 25 - which are not prime numbers.

I was able to create a program that checked for prime numbers separately but I had issues merging them. Below is the merged code followed by the prime checker.
