View 1 RepliesMy C programming class wants us to write a program to read integers into an array, sort the numbers and print out the occurrence of each number. I've tried everything that I can think of but the core dump is still occurring.
void countValues ( FILE *inf, int list[], int size ); /* Function prototypes. */
void printFrequencies( const int list[], int size );
int main (void) {
int status = EXIT_SUCCESS; /* defaulting status to success. */
FILE *inf = fopen( "numbers.txt", "r" ); /* input data file */

I want to write a program to read in 15 integers from the user, and then store them in a 5x3 array, and print out the numbers as a 3x5 array.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm a beginner at c++ and I need to write a program that reads a set of integers and then finds and prints the sum of the even and odd integers. The program cannot tell the user how many integers to enter. I need to have separate totals for the even and odd numbers. what would I need to use so that I can read whatever number of values the user inputs and get the sum of even and odd?
View 2 Replies View RelatedBasically this is what i need to do. Write a program that reads a number from the keyboard, separates it into its individual digits and prints the digits to screen, each on its own line followed by the same number of stars as itself.
For example, if the number is 2339 the program should print
9 *********
3 ***
3 ***
2 **
So far i have managed to separate the number and have them on different lines, but how to implement the stars onto each line with the number!
My code so far:
int main() {
int n;
printf("number? ");
scanf("%d", &n);
while (n > 0) {
printf("
%d

I need to create a program that asks the user for the filename, then counts the number of occurrence of each letter in that file.
Ex. if the file contains
Absacsac
asdasda
Output will be
a = 6
b = 1
c = 2
.
.
.
z = 0
This has been my program so far:
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
#include <string>
using namespace std;
#include <cstdlib>
void countingFunction(string sentence) {
[Code] .....
i have a question, i'm studyng the string library type and i have to write this program :
Code:
std::string word;
while (std::cin >> word) {
std::cout << word << std::endl;
}
why if my input is :
hi my name is ^Z
the output is :
hi
my
name
is
why the program doesn't fall out from the while loop ?
why my program does not recognize my sequence of end of file ?
Write a program to read in a sequence of examination mark from a text file named as input.txt and produce the mean, and standard deviation of the marks. Your program should also produce a bar chart for each grade where the range of mark is given as below.
GradeMarks Range
A80-100
B70-79.9
C50-69.9
D40-49.9
F0-39.9
Output the result to another text file named as output.txt.
How will you code a program that displays the maximum value in a two dimensional array of integers. the program will ask the user to input the 4x5 array?
i know how to code it. but i dont know what to do to find the maximum value. :( how to find the maximum?
The question is "Write a program that uses a while loop to read a set of integers from an input file called "data.txt" and prints the total number of even numbers read from the file."
Code below is the program I have created so far. I keep getting the window to pop up but not stay up so I am assuming I am doing something wrong.
#include <iostream>
#include <fstream>
using namespace std;
int main() {
std::fstream input("data.txt");
if (!input.is_open()) {
std::cout << "There was an error opening data.txt";

I need to write a program that will allow the user to enter a number "n" and the program tell you that the nth prime number is .....
EXAMPLE
user enters 55
printf("The 55th prime number is %i", variable");
I have this code that determines the amount of people that can fit on some trains in different train combination scenarios. Here is the code:
#include<stdio.h>
#include<stdlib.h>
int main(void) {
int total_track, max_train_length, num_people, num_trains, tl;
printf("What is the total length of track, in feet?
[Code] ....
I need to now "pick the winner," or the highest value for num_people computed. How would I go about this and why?
Printing out a sequence data structure. I am using a PC running Windows 7 with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008. This sequence has a dynamic array which stores a value_type which can be any of the built in data types for C++. Initially the sequence is 30 slots long. When the program starts the user starts at the beginning of the sequence by choosing the "!" option from the menu. The user will then insert a number such as 11 by selecting the "I" option (upper or lower case). Then the user will go to the next position in the sequence by selecting the "+" option then insert 22, then go to the next position and insert 33.
To show that the numbers are actually in the sequence the user goes back to the beginning of the array by selecting "!" and then select "C" to display the current number of 11. Then the user goes to the next position by selecting "+" and then "C" to display 22 and so forth. At this point the member function called current() works just find , but when trying to print the contents of the entire sequence the program displays garbage. Why?
Code:
// FILE: sequence_test.cpp
// An interactive test program for the new sequence class
#include <cctype> // Provides toupper
#include <iostream> // Provides cout and cin
#include <cstdlib> // Provides EXIT_SUCCESS
#include "sequence2.h" // With value_type defined as double
using namespace std;
using namespace CISP430_A2;
[Code].....
The question is: Write a program that reads 3 integer numbers, then finds and prints the: Mean - Maximum & Second Minimum.
#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main () {
double a, b, c;
cout<< "Please enter three values"<<endl;

Objective of this program is to read binary data from a file and print it.
Code:
#include <stdio.h>
void readFile(void);
int main(){
readFile();
return 0;
[Code] .....
But When I Run This Code First It Print "Error." Then Rest Of The File.Say In My File I Have "I AM HUMAN", It Prints "Error. HUMAN"!!
I Cant Figure Out Whats Wrong In The readFile() Function.It seems right to me.
Write a program to print out the binary value of a 16 bit number.
Create integers i, count, and mask.
Set 'i' to a hex value of 0x1b53.
Set mask to a value of 0x8000. Why?
print a line to show the hex value of i and then the leader for the binary value like this: Hex value = 1b53 Binary=
Use a for loop to loop 16 times and print 16 digits, using count as the loop counter
To test for each digit value, bitwise and 'i' with 'mask'
when the result for the bitwise and is true, print the number '1'
when the result for the bitwise and is false, print the number '0'
then shift mask one place to the right
print a new line and then quit
Use prtscrn and make a hard copy of the code with the console output.
Extra: use the modulus of count and print a space after every 4th digit to make the binary easier to read
The output should look like this: Hex value = 1b53, Binary= 0001 1011 0101 0011
so far this is what i have
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
int main() {
int i, count, mask;
// 1B53 0001 1011 0101 0011
// 8000 1000 0000 0000 0000
i = 0x1b53;
[Code] ....
it is telling me that there is an "else" without previous "if", also is the program that I wrote correct?
This program prints out the total number of up to 100,000. How to do is to print out the number of twin primes up to 100,000. Is it as simple as adding an if statement "if(primesList[j] - i == 2)"?
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <cmath>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int primesCount = 0;

write a c++ program that reads an unknown number of integer values and then print count, sum and average of odd values, even values, positive values, negative values!!
View 1 Replies View Relatedhow to make a programm in native c++ which print out all prime numbers less than or equal to given number????????
View 5 Replies View RelatedI wrote this program to scan a number and a string until EOF then print them to a file named "data.list". the problem is that the program duplicates last line of input in the output file. so for example if the input is :
1 test
2 dream
3 code
then output (in data.list file) would be:
1 test
2 dream
3 code
3 code
I also changed the program code so that it reads from data.list file. even here it duplicates last line!
so when program reads the info above saved in data.list it would be:
1 test
2 dream
3 code
3 code
3 code
here's the code for writing:
#include <stdio.h>
int main( void )
{
int num;
char str[80];
FILE *fPTR;
fPTR = fopen( "data.list", "w" ); // opens a file named "data.list", create if doesn't exist
while(!feof(stdin)) // loop until End-Of-File is pressed. Ctrl-Z in Windows, Ctrl-D in Unix, Linux, Mac OS X
[Code]...
and the one for reading from file:
#include <stdio.h>
#include <conio.h>
int main( void )
{
int num;
char str[80];
FILE *fPTR;
[Code]...
How do I fix this behavior??
I have to write a program to find the nth number of the Ulam numbers.
It's a bit complicated to explain what an Ulam number is but Wolfram explains it very well here: [URL]
I have to find the nth Ulam number but I don't know what I have to do to get that. My program gives me all the Ulam numbers from a range of 0 to n.
What I want the program to do is tell me that the 49th Ulam number is 243.
/*
C++ Program to find nth Ulam Number
*/
#include <stdio.h>
#include <iostream>
#include <vector>
using namespace std;
int main() {
int num = 0;
vector<int> v;

I am trying to write a program that checks whether the number is in sequence(as in if the numbers are in order it is a sequence). Ex: If the numbers are {1,2,3,6,7,8,9,10,11,13,15,17,20,21}, then, the underlined parts are a sequence. Now i want to find
1) the no of sequence in the array(in the above it is 3 )
2) the longest sequence (7to 11 which is 5).
The next code is right. I mean it works. It gives the sequence of fibonaci numbers ...
Code:
#include <iostream>
#include <iomanip>
using namespace std;
int fibo(int pos) {
if(!pos)return 0;
if(pos==1)return 1;
[Code] .....
But.... when I change the lines:
Code:
int r1=fibo(pos1);
int r2=fibo(pos2);
int r=r1+r2;
For the lines:
Code:
int r=fibo(pos1)+fibo(pos2);
It doesn't work right. Apparently it should work the same.
#include <iostream>
#include <iomanip>
#include <fstream>
using namespace std;
// Function prototype
void getScore(int& score, ifstream& inFile);
void calcAverage(int s1, int s2, int s3, int s4, int s5, int lowest);
[Code] ....
The program is suppose to report back the lowest number of 5 grades in a file..then it is suppose to report the average of remaining 4 higher scores..It appears to be reporting the correct average which tells me that it is reading the file and dropping the lowest score but it does not report back the lowest score first.
The problem says that i have a number n > 0 and the program should determinate the number between 2 and N who has the maximum divisor sum (1 and N wont count as divisor). If i have more numbers with maximum divisor sum, should wrote only first number. Exemple: for N = 100 , will show 96 bcoz he has the maximum divisor sum, which is 155. For the start i tried to show only the maximum divisor sum, not the number who has the maximum divisor sum with this code:
#include<stdio.h>
int main() {
int n,s=0,i,m;
printf("Please introduce the number N > 0:");
scanf("%d", &n);
i = 2;
[Code] .....
And it shows me 116, but the correct results is 155. Which is the problem ?
I'm saving the images in folder by using:
webClient.DownloadFile(href, sourcepath);
I don't want to give name as Current date and time..shown in given below code
