I've recently started creating a bingo caller application. I need in changing numbers to different text boxes. When a number is called it will be displayed in a text box and the last four numbers previous to that. However the oldest number needs to delete and for the remening numbers to move when a new number is called.
View 2 RepliesSo I am writing a multiform multiclass project for a class and I initially set out to create a validate class to check all of my text boxes. However after writing a few simple boolean functions to check if the box was empty or not, or if it was indeed an integer, decimal ect. I realized I was going to have to call these functions for every text box and also have all of my decision making based on the returned boolean variable still in the code portion of my form. I was wondering how do most people do it, should I write a class that validates the entire form at once(one form has 7 text boxes, one has 9). I suppose I am asking what would the industry standard be, how would a professional do it? While my simple functions would work, and while I could write one large function that validates them all at once both paths leave something to be desired in terms of re-usability for the entire form validation, and compact/cleanliness of code for the simple functions.
My validate class currently stands like this:

Now for assigning unique control ID I'm creating a static control from resource editor and destroying it before calling CStatic::Create() and using its control ID say ID_STATIC_SAMPLE.
If I do not use this parameter of Create(), the static control is also being created, so what is the use of this unique ID. And any other better way to assign a ID for dynamically created static controls.
Earlier 4-5 years back, When I started learning C++ I used textcolor() function to change the textcolour. But its not working in Code Blocks 13.12. Is there any other standard way to color the text and background.

I want to write a programm that will reverse the order of the numbers in an array (e.g. as an input 1,2,3.5,4 and as an output i want 4,3.5,2,1) . But i have to problems:
1) I do not know how to properly change the type of a numbers inside an array from int to float or double, changing int to float in front of the a[10], does not change anything instead the code does not want to compile then.
2) I also want to make an array of a number of elements typed by a user with use of a "do" loop and how to put this parameter in the code.

I'm working on a code that reads a text file and follows the instructions written in that file. An example of the text file:

I want to read the text file line by line, each time I find an instruction (that is, the keywords *sum or *subtract) I want to make a summation (in the case of *sum) of all the numbers in each of the following lines, and repeat until the next instruction appear. So the text file above should generate:
78
17
118
-8
-1
30
That is:
11 + 4 + 61 + 2 = 78
1 + 2 + 0 + 14 = 17
17 + 99 + 1 + 1 = 118
5 - 6 - 7 = -8
1 - 1 - 1 = -1
45 - 6 - 9 = 30
how can I implement a dictionary(I'm guessing a dictionary is the best way to go here) so that when I read the string *sum i can call a function that does the summation of the following lines.
the size of the text file may be big (several mb) and the number of different instructions to search for may be in the magnitude of hundreds.
How do i make the srand() function make new numbers every time i call it? Now it seems like it repeats its result over an over again.

I'm having some problems with changing an array of numbers of type char to type int. Every time i try to sum 2 array indexed values it returns some letter or symbol. Also, if i change the type of the array in the functions the compiler gives me an error message. I would also like to add that the problem requires that the first two arrays be char so each individual number gets assigned to a different value.

I have a COM exe which runs fine on all machines that I have used except one. On a particular machine, the COM exe does not start even after trying to execute it manually (do a double click on the file from explorer).
There are no error messages as well. what could be happening ?

I'm not really set on exactly how steep the "slope" must be, I just need a way of approaching the problem.

Have a program which given a C source code file, gives back RAW MACHINE CODE, which means it doesn't have to be a executable on his own.
Like:

The functions doesn't seem to link in proper. Also, for the "chocoSelect" function, if a user enters a selection number other than 1 to 5, the machine will stall and wait for 10 seconds to try again. How?

Basically, I am designing a form that shows all of the services a mechanic performs, and then it is supposed to calculate the total based on the selections made.
HOW do I use those check boxes to calculate a total? I am supposed to use value-returning methods that solve for the parts cost, flush charges, tax charges, misc costs, etc. Ive attached a picture of the form thus to make sense of what I'm trying to describe.

Write a program that simulates an adding machine. When a zero is entered it should print the subtotal of all the numbers entered from the last zero that was entered and reset the subtotal. When two consecutive zeroes are entered it should print the total (not the subtotal) of all the numbers entered and terminate the program. Example:

Be careful this program needs a bit more thought than you might think at first. To get full credit you must make sure it also works for the 0 - 0 case. Example:

The problem is, after I enter the integers and type 0, it shows the subtotal which is what I want; however, when I type more integers and type another 0 to see the subtotal again, it shows the total instead. The subtotal should reset whenever a single 0 is typed and the total should only show when two 0's are inputted simultaneously. Also, after the user enters two 0's simultaneously and views their total, I want the program to exit by saying "press any key to exit." Is there a special name for that to happen? Here is my code:

Here's what i'm searching for: I have a form with 3 pictureBoxes (pictureBox1,2,3). The form also contains one button.
What I want is that when the user clicks the button (so button_click event) that the 3 pictureBoxes each show a different picture. And when I click the button again again 3 different pictures will load.
I already found out that I need to make an arraylist for the pictures (there are about 100 pictures). A System.Random
to select random images. But I have absolutely no clue on how to write this code.
